Incredible Service & Peace of Mind! Back in late February 2025, we had a nightmare situation--our water heater unexpectedly failed and flooded our entire basement. They arrived quickly, assessed the damage, and immediately got to work extracting the water and drying out the space. During their inspection, they discovered an ongoing mold issue that we hadn't even noticed. They walked us through the entire process, carefully removed the affected drywall, treated the area, and replaced everything so it looked as good as new. A company is only as good as their work. When I pay over $1k to have my bathroom floor "aired out" and new vinyl flooring laid, I expect the quality to be top notch. When it's not, and the floor begins to bubble up after 7 months, we have a problem. We have an even larger problem when I can't get anyone to return my calls/emails and no chance of this company coming out to correct their subpar work. Everybody was cordial, kind, and dried up our carpets. I told the person that came that I refused to continue the process without a quote, he said Darrell did the quotes and it would be in the low hundreds. We called Darrell to confirm this before the work was done and he said yes. Now, they are trying to bill us for $600 for lending us 3 fans for a day. read more

Strap on your seatbelts folks, cause it's gonna be a long bumpy ride! My husband was attempting to fix a waterline and it broke, completely flooding a bedroom through the wall. We called our homeowners insurance who instructed us to call Disaster Professionals and get an estimate for preventing molding etc. Water and drywall are typically a bad mix. The guys came out and were nice enough, they said they could use fans and dehumidifiers to dry out the walls to avoid tearing them down completely and that it would definitely be a lot less than our deductible of $1,000 dollars. They said each device cost $25 a day per unit (3 total) and they would be left for several days. That's $75 a day X 4 days = $300 and we were not informed of the cost of labor or anything like that but we assumed it would run about $500 bucks total for the whole she-bang. I can't remember exactly what they said it would cost to be honest but I remember him specifically saying it would be significantly less than our deductible. We reluctantly agreed and allowed them to set up their stuff and they left. We called them back within hours and asked them to take the equipment back because we couldn't afford the service. My husband says the owner told him it would cost more in overtime to pay his guys then to just leave the equipment there and get it in a few days. We actually called them again to try to get them to come get the equipment because we were afraid I would go into labor and there would be nobody home. They came on a Sunday evening I believe and packed everything up, wished me the best and left! No mention of a bill or an invoice or what the charge was going to be if any. We figured the might charge us like $150 or something like that for labor. But my husband said the owner told him "Don't worry about it!" After that day we did not hear from them again. No phone call, no bill - until almost 4 months later we receive a blank invoice with zero itemization for $623! Yeah he meant, don't worry about it, I'm gonna bill your ass later once you've forgotten about the details of what happened in your baby induced sleep deprivation. Congrats on the kid, now cough up 600 bucks. Now I assumed that they mistakenly billed us for the entire time the equipment was in our home. So I call and spoke to Wendy. She was actually not able to find the invoice and instructs me to call the owner. Which I did not do. She calls me two days later to inform me that The invoice was correct and was for 1 day and that they gave us a deal. Excuse me? So you're telling me that the service I was told would cost much less than the deductible for SEVERAL DAYS actually wasn't far off from the deductible for ONE DAY. Apparently they billed us an "after hours" type deal since it was in the evening. THEY MADE THE APPOINTMENT, I should mention. So that says to me they purposely made a later appointment to charge a fee which is extremely dishonest. I can't imagine what a couple of fans and a few holes in my wall would've cost for the full 4 days. It would've exceeded the deductible by a lot by those calculations. And I would never in a million years agree to have some fans put in for $1000, they've got to be taking crazy pills. I could redo the drywall myself and replace the carpet for less than that. I was under the impression that this company had done us a giant favor and a kindness even though we were a pain in the ass and changed our minds right away, and in fact they planned to invoice us for the full amount. The owner has left me a voicemail offering to settle for $500.... I thought we had called them back in enough time to negate any funds owed or maybe just pay them for the set up time. It seems odd that we would be invoiced many months later. I work for one of the largest distributors of woodworking supplies so I am very familiar with invoicing. Most contractors provide Itemized invoices that include the cost of labor and supplies etc. To just send a piece of paper that says you owe somebody over 600 bucks is unprofessional. Especially when you gave the impression that you weren't going to bill at all. The moral of the story is, I won't use Disaster Professionals again. I take responsibility for not asking questions and getting a firm written bid with the cost signed by them. That's my fault. But fool me once, shame on you! This is a company that, due in large part to an owner who obsessively micromanages and doesn't appear to trust his key personnel to do their jobs, consistently over promises and under delivers. The company's initial response is quick, and the owner, Mr. Bare, talks the talk in order to get the job after which the company's weaknesses become apparent. They are severely understaffed in the mitigation department, relying largely on untrained - mostly neighborhood - kids to perform the initial work. Subsequent communication between Mr. Bare and the customer is verbal and sketchy. There are no written forms used to indicate what items are to be discarded or saved, or whether or not items will be replaced at owners' or customers' expense. Better to employ a competing remediation company with the knowledge and experience to do the job effectively, quickly, and professionally from the beginning. read more

To be fair, I have given Darin 2 years plus to get my remodel done, which consisted of a new garage, paint the siding, install new front door and sidelights, and install new sliding door to back yard. I documented this entire remodle in a journal, so I have times and dates things were promised and not get done and a very few done and finished in a very slow pace.I was constantly calling or texting Darin to get to the next step. The workers were excellant, but the sceduling was horrific. I did not have a handle or lock on my front door for over a week, that is just not ok! I tried to be patient, but got frustrated at every. Single. Turn! I will probably turn in my journal to the Better Business Bureau. This whole project was supposed to be started in May of 2018, but never got finished until Sept-October 2019. When Darin came by for the last inspection he told me if I had any problems to just let him know and he would make it right. After spending over $18,000.00 on concrete this past spring 2020 we found several chipping and holes in our new driveway. He said he would fix it. Also some of the paint job was missed on our aluminum siding, and our brand new door and sidelight paint has been chipping, the new screen door is sagging. Darin told me he would have it fixed, that was over a month ago he came and saw all of the imperfect finishes that were not done right. We are in our 60s and are not construction workers, but tried to fix the paint on the siding, the garage door finish work was sloppy, so my husband tried to fix it the best he could. When they poured the footings for the garage they didn't back fill the dirt, so the first rain that dirt sunk at least 2 feet and probably more. We ended up fixing that ourself. When we decided to sighn on with Disaster Professionals we had a budget of $50,000.00, it ebded up to cost all of our life savings of $69,000.00. And Darin Bare will not even answer my text. I would highly recommend looking around for a reputable construction company. I have givin Darin several times plus to make this remodel right, and now Im not even getting answers. We still need to figure out how we are going to fix our brand new front door. I only hope it wont cost much, because Darin Bare of Disaster Professionals has all the money we had. I worked with Steve on our flooding problem. He was very thorough and professional. They quickly dried our house out and rebuilt what needed to be fixed. The painting took a lot longer than expected. They only sent one person to do the entire job so that is why it may have took longer. The carpet also took longer to be reinstalled but we got a better quality carpet in the end. I had to do a lot of the cleanup but they took off pricing so it evened out in the end. It took about 4 weeks to get everything done. In the end i was happy with their work but would like to recommend they do things faster for others. read more

I hired this company to fix a leak in my roof and to perform some interior damage repair. After the work was finished, the leak persisted. After repeated failed attempts to stop the leak (and literally dozens of unreturned phone calls), the manager Darin Bare finally told me I needed an entire roof replacement. When I protested the fact he himself had never seen my roof to be able to come to that conclusion, he accused me of trying to get them to replace the roof for free. (His exact words: "You need a new roof. I know it, and I think you know it, too.") To say I found this deeply offensive and unprofessional is a great understatement. Even more troubling, when I asked for an itemization of the work performed, I discovered they had overbilled the insurance company and falsified paperwork for work they never did - including hundreds of dollars for paint that was never purchased or applied, hours of "moving furniture" that never happened, and cleaning and deodorizing the carpet. None of this was ever done, yet they billed this to the insurance company and were paid. When I questioned them about this and asked them to reimburse me the monies they collected for the work not done, they stopped responding to my emails. I eventually received a $500 refund check for the repair work done to the roof itself, which I took because I didn't have the time or resources to fight them any further, but in the end Disaster Professionals walked away with thousands of dollars for work they did not do. I recommend anyone seeking disaster repair to avoid this company. read more
