Bear River Insurance recommended this company after the first company who did flood mitigation work proved destructive, unresponsive and underqualified. The guys that run the company are mostly great. Many of the subs they use, however, are lacking. I'm writing this review because I don't know how else to encourage companies to improve. This is my third or fourth frustrating experience with a contractor. With the exception of the subs who did some impressively difficult and beautiful drywall work to tie into the lath and plaster, all other elements--every single element--of my bathroom rebuild has had to be redone or was done wrong and I'm forced to live with it.
They didn't center the faucet and spouts over the tub (I'll deal with it), they installed the Schluter edge scratched (they painted it to try to make me happy; it doesn't match in shade or sheen; we'll see how long it lasts; I'll probably redo it once they're finally gone), they didn't follow the pattern I gave them for the tile (but it still looks very nice), they didn't center the pedestal sink under the medicine cabinet (I'll try not to notice everyday), there was a pile of water (a leaky toilet?) after they installed the new one, they installed molding without a relief edge (I made them redo it, and now I have an ugly seam that I even marked them to fill, and repaint, but they didn't, so I will when they go) and the list goes on. Over three months into this--and two or three weeks of that are my fault due to upgrades, and the first month was the other company's fault--and they're still not done. They tried to put on the tub faucet handles, but the guy set them back too far, so they're going to have to cut into the wall behind and redo. I swear these guys are all first-timers on everything. The subs take little pride in their work. It's been very frustrating.
Many times the subs just wouldn't show up for days after starting their work, or they would come for very short periods of time and not accomplish much.
Complete needs a quality assurance function. I shouldn't have to do it. They should be checking on their subs' work rather than making me be the bad guy. This has been exhausting.
To their credit, all the subs they've sent have been very nice men, and I haven't worried at all about them coming and going from my home and having the garage code when I haven't been there.
I cannot say, sadly, that I would recommend them. It's been too frustrating. read more
