We ended up using these guys due to Nationwide recommending them and insuring their work for 5 years. Unfortunately I feel like this is going to be 5 years of fixes now.... When Bumka first came out to look at the house. Everything went great, scheduling seemed good - so we got started. Not long after we started, I KNEW we had messed up. We started experiencing things like them staying well past 5, we had to ask them to leave multiple times so we could put our kids down for bed. Our cabinets were delayed another month due to Bumka "forgetting" to order. I noticed TONS of things wrong. From uneven cabinets and things just being horribly off level, to them reusing baseboards that were flood damaged! They used our garage one night without asking us and left our entire gym and garage stuff covered in sawdust. When I asked Bumka the project manager about this, he tried to say it blew in from the driveway... my cameras showed a different story. We also had issues where they installed a bullnose at the top of our stairs and used silicon to secure, but got the silicon all over the place making it extremely slippery causing my wife to actually fall down a few stairs. Initially I brought this up to Bumka who was very critical of me and told me he had never heard of those issue. Main jist of this is a few things. 1. Is that there is a massive language barrier between you and the 1 or 2 workers that show up to your house - and their work is less than mediocre (and that's being kind). 2. You are likely not their biggest project where they send their "best" resources (at least that's what we were told). 3. They try to cut corners and do the job as cheap as possible, look at the pictures of the trim, and the microwave vent not even taped to the exhaust in the ceiling. 4. They are dishonest. I went through their stupid ass hospital bill of a quote and pulled 5k-8k of things they said they had done but THEY DID NOT DO. Things like removing and resetting toilets for paint (found paint on the backs of the toilets). Removing and resetting doors. Just random stuff that was a straight up lie. When I went through this with Bumka, he said they have to make their money somewhere. I'll also post photos of some of the workmanship, a lot of this stuff is still here and not fixed. read more

It's been an epic saga with Five Point Restoration but they've been great overall. My insurance was a nightmare throughout and because 2020, the process took FOREVER. I had both a water main leak and 2 sewage cleanups this summer. The cleanup guys were prompt and worked quickly. They had a lot of opinions about the plumbers who were working at the same but that's neither here nor there. Biggest issue here was I asked them to save 3 baby quilts so I could take them to get cleaned. They saved 2 quilts and a random Spiderman blanket, so my daughter's baby quilt is gone forever. Pat, my coordinator throughout the process, was mostly responsive. He'd call even when there was nothing to report to keep me updated. My insurance dragged their feet so there were long periods of time I heard nothing. Daniel in the billing department was AMAZING at looking everything over and explaining things to me so I could understand. Once he got involved everything started moving. Not sure why it took so long for him to get involved. Bumka and the restoration guys are the reason for my 5 star review. He was thorough in his walk through and he helped us choose new flooring which was cheaper and more modern. He helped us cut costs in a couple other places as well. He was super knowledgeable, personable, and took pride in his work. He called the next day and was able to move some things around to fit us in. His crew showed up at 9am and finished our entire basement floor by 2:30pm. Our new floor looks AMAZING. Bumka and his crew did excellent work and I'm ready for them to do my whole house. They even plugged in our Christmas lights to show us the final product. I would recommend Five Point Restoration overall but especially for the final product. read more

I should have read all of the bad reviews before I hired 5-Point Restoration. The couldn't have done much worse. It took them several days to even get started. They were hard to communicate with. It took them over a month to do what they should have been able to do in a week. The quality of their work was terrible, very amateur. I had to make several phone calls to get them to come back and finish the work. A lot of their work was tacky and unacceptable and had to be redone. I'm still finding problems with things that need to be redone, and they will not come back and fix the problems. read more

While the work was done reasonably well in the end, the communication was terrible and I had to have them come back to correct a wholly unprofessional paint job. On several occasions, they said they would be at my home and didn't show up, only to reach out later to work on a job, one time requesting to start work at 8:30pm. While painting my basement, they painted over existing switch plates and outlet covers instead of removing them. I took them off myself, had them come back and correct the work, and then bought new covers. Not exactly "restoration". Also, they led me to believe that they were "upgrading" my carpet, but when the installer showed up, he noted that the existing carpet was better quality. The worst part of this whole ordeal is that they were a USAA recommended provider. I'm not sure who they had to bribe to get that, but I hope it's pulled back for the sake of other customers. Five Point started my Laundry room flood restoration the first week of August and as of the end of November, it was still not done to my satisfaction. They did NOT follow my request to sand and stain the flooded base cabinet doors that I asked them to replace and then they used the old base cabinet's waterlogged innards for the drawer and shelf I learned on December 13th that no one on the work crew spoke or understood English. So my requests literally fell on "deaf" ears. I did not know that until we met with their representative on December 13, 2023. He tried to be fair and did take contested items (base cabinet) off the bill-so I raised the rating from 1 to 2. I am still left with a base cabinet that has water-stained cabinet fronts, a drawer that is warped inside from the water, and a shelf that is waterlogged! I have some more complaints about their scheduling to come on a Saturday and never showing up or calling. I sent their representative a text message on Saturday a couple of hours after they were scheduled to be here and he told me that they got waylaid on another project and they wouldn't be there today not giving me any notice that they were going to be there. he rescheduled to come on Tuesday morning and they did show up Tuesday afternoon. I paid for a handyman to come and hook up the faucet and also I upgraded the flooring and paid for that separately. read more

I'm sure Five Point Restoration would have been great to work with had we had a different project manager assigned to us. After reading all the great reviews we decided to go with them for some water damage to our kitchen from a dishwasher leak. Unfortunately, our PM was horrible at communicating and when we tried to get a different one assigned to us, no one from the office would call us back, they would just have the PM reach out. He would take days to respond to simple questions and often forgot to schedule people to be here. They were supposed to mill new cabinets for some that got ruined by water damage but instead, they went to Home Depot and purchased low end builder grade cabinets that don't match the rest of the kitchen. They did however still try to charge us the original amount, and it took them 7+ hours to install the two (and they're not even level.) We ended up letting the PM know that we would no longer be using them for the project and we hired someone else that finished the job a lot faster and correctly. In the end they tried to charge us an extra $2k for work that was never done (multiple coats of paint, detach/reattach doors and baseboards, removing countertops, removing light fixtures...which never happened, they just painted around them). Luckily we took pictures throughout the process and were able to use those as evidence. The only person that went above and beyond was Briana from the billing office. She was quick to respond and empathetic towards the situation. She did her best to make things right but in the end it was easier to just pay the bill and be done with them. It would have been nice to talk to someone in management to try and resolve the issues before letting them go, but even after numerous attempts, they would not call me back. If you decide to go with them, I would suggest taking pictures and have as much communication done via text/email for tracking purposes. read more

Made my grandma cry. Avoid doing business AT ALL COSTS!!! I want to start out by mentioning I own a small business myself. I hate fake reviewers. This is one of the worst experiences I've ever had with any business and it's completely unacceptable. Nothing here is fabricated. I wish it were. We signed up for a free estimate. The adjuster (Bryan) showed up 40 minutes late. He immediately complained that we were not smiling enough. "This guy over here has a scowl on, are you sure you want an estimate? We have lots of business, we don't need to be doing this." -- Threatening us within 1 minute of arriving. I honestly hadn't had any ill feelings toward him up to that point, actually, I had been kind of impressed, I was just hot and tired. But any feeling of being okay with this guy definitely went away instantly when he talked to my grandma like that after wasting her day. My grandma said, "no, we're fine, we just had a long day and want to get this estimate." He ignored her and looked at me instead. I simply said, "you're 40 minutes late, so we're a bit tired." He turned around and started walking out, saying "we have plenty of business, we don't need you to put us through this." My grandma began crying. Seeing that, I ran after Bryan and told him what I thought of him (not suitable for Yelp). After we got back to the place where my grandma is temporarily staying since her home was destroyed by tenants (and would stay destroyed if those who work at this company had their way), my grandma was still crying. I called the store and ended up talking to the owner. I explained the situation and he completely backed Bryan. After a bit of back and forth, thinking he must be misunderstanding something I was telling him, surely he wasn't okay with this kind of behavior. I told them if they don't do anything about this I will be leaving them negative reviews absolutely everywhere online. It wasn't a threat, I just think it's fair to warn people and give them an out before you do that, because I know how much damage that kind of thing can do and I don't want to do it unless it's deserved. The owner responded with: "we don't have to do business with people with little dicks like you. Say whatever you want online." So yeah, they deserve it. This company is absolute TRASH. They are GARBAGE. There is no reason anyone should ever do business with them, there are PLENTY of professional companies that do this kind of work and don't show up late and then treat sweet old ladies like dumpsters. read more

The work was fine. But the communication was incredibly frustrating and far below reasonable. We decided to move forward with them and they set up a time to do a final walk-through. I didn't know a walk-through meant they would start work that day? But that was their plan. So ok we move stuff around in our schedule and start work that day. The Asian workers were amazing. Very hard working. They started on a Friday and then took the weekend off and finished on the Monday or Tuesday. Why would you start a project that should only take a day and a half over a weekend just to leave the place in a dust pile? I don't know. So they get done with the dry wall- great. Now they just need to lay the carpet and clean it and we can be done. Oh my gosh- our carpet is still not done! After 3 weeks someone came and put a new carpet pad down finally but did we ever get it cleaned? Nope. And did we pay for it? Yes. I finally just paid the invoice and was done with them. They're impossible to work with. The "project manager" was unresponsive when we would text him and would only call the day before a job was going to get done. Sorry but we have a life and can't drop everything to be home when you MIGHT show up. If I did it again- I'd look elsewhere. read more

Their customer service was very poor. I asked for and never received an invoice, and I waited to pay them many times. A year went by before they finally got back to me, with a collections letter! If this is how they run their business, I want to part. The work they did was fine, however. Edit: apparently I cannot reply directly to the response below. What is stated below is not entirely true. I was asked to pay, yes. I asked multiple times and never received an invoice for my records. I was never contacted after requesting the invoice for nearly a year. Not too happy with them. My sewer stack cracked and they came to clean to up. I wasnt home when they came but my wife was. When I came home after work there was still sewer water on the basement bathroom floor. When I questioned them about it he claimed they did the work. The plumbers had to clean the floor before they could do the plumbing work. I receieved the final invoice from them and a week later after my insurance wrote us the check they sent another invoice for $200 more et hen the first one. The second just happened to be the exact amount of the check. When I asked them they said the first invoice was sent before the insurance said what they would pay. I think that is a poor business practice. read more

Our mess was cleaned up with amazing speed and care for keeping the rest of the house clean (plastic on the carpets, shoe covers, etc). We had a minor dispute over the cost, which I paid out of pocket rather than going through insurance, but that was resolved in a fair manor. I would use them again. read more

I used Five Points to clean a rental home that my daughter was moving in. The last tenant had many cats and really did not clean and maintain the home properly. Since my daughter is allergic to cats, I called Dave and they came out, gave an estimate and from there it was hands free for me. Unbelievable service and work ethic. Dave and his team are incredible from start to finish. They are quick and extremely professional is all aspects of the job. Their crews are on point and don't mess around when they are on the job.
