Unfortunately with the way our house was built and built pretty crappy we had an issue with our heater because the fan for the radon is so powerful our motor for the HVAC wasn't working right. We had to get a tech from our HVAC people to come out and solve the issue. Found that we had two drains in our unfinished area where everything was, so we had to plug one of the drains and have the unit cleaned throughly before turning the HVAC on again. Johnnie with Utah Radon has gone above and beyond to come over to turn the mediation fan off, and coming back to turn it back on once we got the HVAC situated! I needed Radon Mitigation with a basement test score of 3.1. I searched online for a general…read morecontractor and found "The Property Medics" owner, Roger Empey. He came to my home within two days to do a detailed estimate. We carefully explored several options. He emailed his estimate to me three days later. I noticed that it was a professional estimate complete with drawings, written warranty, DOPL license number, and costs to install the mitigation system. I did my due diligence by checking with DOPL, BBB, and the State of Utah consumer protection agency. Roger and his company have a spotless record with no complaints. I set the date to install. Roger arrived on time and finished the project that day on time. He worked like a very knowledgeable pro in the basement, garage, attic and up on the roof. He cleaned up all of his work areas. Roger gave me a free Radon test kit which I mailed off a few days after the work was completed. The test came back with a Radon level of 1.1, the best you can get. Now, my wife and I feel a lot safer occupying our basement area. I could not be more pleased with the whole process. My best advice for anyone is to skip the two big companies in Utah who cannot come to your home for 50-60 days after you call them. One big company makes estimates over the phone with a somewhat pushy style. I hope Roger puts his company sign up in my yard to advertise his great work.
