The food was served fast, fresh and on silver trays so no breaking of plates here. We had Dan as our server and he was outstanding with his knowledge of the menu and storytelling of how this family owned business got started. He guided us on ordering tips to save us money, and charmed us with his wit. The food is unique with its take on Asian infused Mexican dishes and the drinks are simple and beautiful with fresh herbs. A little insulting and the table we got didn't even have chairs for everyone..you had to sit on a block like you're at the Apple Store. They have inappropriate pictures hanging up on the walls back there which were immediately noticed by the kids. So it's a really odd choice to put kids back there...otherwise it's on purpose so you don't go there with kids. One picture was Kim Kardashian's bare butt. There is no happy hour menu or specials. The waitress and staff, were attentive yet trying to rush you out. They constantly came over and took drinks off the tables before you were finished. Too much hovering. Wanted to give a fabulous shout out to Dirty Taco And Tequila in Patchogue! Four of us tried to get in there this past Saturday night and were told we'd have a pretty decent wait. When William ( greeted us) heard we had a show to catch, he moved things around a bit, and worked it out for us! Well that was terrific, but so was the food, the drinks, and the service! Simply delicious I was impressed by being greeted by the owner upon entering the restaurant. He was very inviting and pleasant. He briefed us on the #1 items on his menu. Atmosphere: this location has a bit more space it seems than the other location I visited. Definitely cool vibes...a bit on the louder side and fast paced but nothing too crazy. There is a bar area, general seating area, and a smaller slightly more private area in the back. Service: I have been to this location twice now. The service the first time made me want to give this place only 2 stars. I actually left pretty angry. Our waitress (I don't remember her name, but she was dark haired and a bit older) she was inattentive and forgetful. Then at the end, my husband ordered one of the tequila tastings. When the bill came, we were charged for a completely different tequila than we asked for. When we told her she goes "oh i thought you said the other one". Then she comes back and says "Oh, well we were out of that other one anyway". No apology, no offer to match the lower price of the drink that we actually asked for. NOTHING. UGH. Thinking about it now has me not wanting to go back again haha. BUT the second time we went, the service was excellent so I will choose to forgive but not forget and make sure I never get that 1st server again. Shoutout to our second waitress we had, she was great. Food: the tacos are really FILLING. For the price, it beats the other tacos on Main street. I was going to see a show at the patchogue theater up the block and decided to check this place out for dinner beforehand. I was surprised how big it is as I've only been to the Woodbury location which is pretty small. There was no wait and our server was very attentive and friendly. We split the Mac and cheese, Asian nachos and kung pao dumplings for apps. The Mac and cheese was so creamy and delicious and randomly came with a few Cheeto puffs on top. The Kung pao dumplings weren't as flavorful as I expected, coulda used some more Kung pao sauce or something but they were still okay. The Asian nachos were a huge portion of a unique take on nachos using a peanut sauce instead of cheese-def a winner. I got the Asian beef sloppy joes taco and the bang bang shrimp taco-both were good but could use a little less carrot slaw and a little more dressing on the sloppy Joe taco and I think a hot honey would go better than the siracha on the bang bang taco. Just a thought. They're on the foodie card but they also upcharge for credit card. I would love to see this place open up in a more mid island location! read more

I'm extremely shocked at why this place has almost 5 stars. I get there on a Saturday night at 730, and they said an hour - which wow... okay this place must be golden. We wait, and they call to tell us our table is finally ready. The host was a man with grey hair and super fun and nice. So the place is split, one side is the bar and the other side is the seating to the restaurant with a chain-like fence wall in between. We get the menu, and I'm not a fan of tortilla tacos - they don't have bowls, except for a dragon bowl - so I go with that. Dragon bowl was $16, which is crazy but our waitress said it was big. So, I'm all about it because I'm starving. Our drinks took forever. But we finally got our food and my bowl is no where CLOSE to big and my pictures prove it. I was STILL hungry. You gotta be kidding me. And it wasn't worth the $16 dollars. I would have rather spent $12 at chipotle, at least they give you flavor. I tried my bf and friends quesadilla, both were good. They have some sort of fries with stuff on it - that was super delicious. Also, their plaintains - not so good. If you're asking to clog your arteries, this is 100% the place to be. The main reason I would never come back here - the music is way too loud for no reason. If I have to shout at my friends while trying to enjoy my tiny dragon bowl, I'm never coming back, and I don't recommend it. Maybe it's cool for 21 year olds but it's not the spot to be for anyone older than that trying to enjoy dinner and have a good time. Then, we needed utensils (for the sour cream and my bowl), the waitress was never anywhere to be found. We had to ask another waitress. And while I was on a double date and asked the waitress, as we sat down, if both couples could be split for the bill - no, can't do that either. Wait, let me add - they have seperate amounts on the menu for paying with card!!!! WHAT? I've never been to a place like this. Reason number TWO I am never going back here.. Sounds money hungry to me. I went to the bathroom 3 times when we were there. Each time had no toilet paper in the same stall I kept going into. So everyone was using paper towels. Well, by the time the 3rd trip came around the paper towels at the sink ran out - is any staff not checking the bathrooms??? So I had to go under the cabinets and get more out and put them in the stall. Luckily there was a big garbage beside we could dump them in. But don't be surprised if drunk people decided to flush them down the toilet and get it clogged... Just saying! Keep up with your job duties. read more

Since you're wondering... If you're like me, you screen shot all the places your friends go and add it to your bookmarks so you can try it also. This place is so popular I think I may have tried to add to my bookmarks 3 times, so you know I had to try it! Upon arrival, both times I came here, I got a park right across the street, on a Saturday(!) which is basically unheard of for Patchogue. This let me know it was going to be a good time! The first saturday I came here, I ordered the Jerk Chicken Taco and the Kung Pao Chicken Taco. Both are served on corn tortillas and come as a single serve. I loved both! I was veryyyyy skeptical because I have been disappointed by jerk chicken items in the past but I enjoyed this a lot. I felt like the chicken was very seasoned and cooked very well. I got the sauce for the Jerk Chicken on the side because I wasn't sure I'd like it but ended up enjoying it a lot. The second time I came I order the above two tacos with the addition of the Bang Bang Chicken Taco (not pictured), which was one of the specials for the day. I enjoyed this taco a lot. It was kind of reminiscent of the Kung Pao but with a different sauce. Also not pictured are the churros I ordered both times. All I can say is wow!!!! These churros are so good I didn't even mind that there was too much whipped cream on top. I took one star off because I feel like this place has way too many people inside at one time. Where I sat, the people on the other side of the "wall" if you could even call it that, were basically dining with us, I could hear all of their conversation and felt uncomfortable with how close they were to me. I tried 3 different tacos: korean short rib, vietnamese shrimp, and the ahi tuna. Both the korean short rib and vietnamese shrimp tacos were phenomenal. The flavors were so delicious and very unique. The ahi tuna taco was good but nothing amazing. I definitely preferred the other two tacos over the ahi tuna. The servers were so friendly and attentive, even to our dog. They would often come over to refill our dogs water bowl and even brought him treats! Last night, we had the pleasure of experiencing this off the charts taco empire. Really impressed with everything from the wonderful staff/management to the quality of food & cocktails. We started off with the Korean bbq wings. These really hit the mark on both flavor and fry. Reminiscent of some of our favorite spots in queens. We tried a large assortment of tacos. One that I left off my order that I highly recommend was the Korean short rib taco. (Thank you Tom, pleasure meeting your family!) That taco is absolute perfection - to die for. The southern fried chicken taco was amazing as well (at the recommendation of our waitress). I also really enjoyed the seared tuna taco. And the Mexican street corn was something I'll be ordering regularly. Last thing I wanna mention is the drinks. The tequila selection here is great. Drinks were totally on point. Really enjoyed the honeydew margarita that they had as a special yesterday. I think that one was actually half-price during the time that we were there. My favorites are the Korean short rib taco, the pork belly taco, and the classic baja. I love the watermelon basil margarita! My first time here was late night on a Saturday and there was a 45 minute wait for a table. The hostess gave us drink coupons for a $5 margarita while we waited which I thought was a great idea. My most recent visit was 4pm on a Wednesday and I was the only person at the bar. The bartender was attentive and chatty, but not overbearing. He recommended the birria taco which was lovely. I heard so many good things about Dirty Taco.. so I had to try it myself! It was a nice cool October Sunday @ 2:30 pm. The football Game was on TV and a very sweet young waitress approached our table with a giant smile. She asked us if we've dined there before. We told her this was our first time. She explained that the menu was a mix of Mexican/ Asian Fusion. She seemed thrilled that we were virgins, (to the restaurant of course.) The Crowd was mostly younger and diverse. The Shishito Peppers appetizer was lightly salted, roasted and abundant. They were served with soy sauce. And not one hot pepper in the bunch.... My friend was pleased about that. We also had the Chicken Dumplings appetizer, which were delicious and enough for two. I ordered the Short Rib Birria Tacos which were served in a corn shell and served with a devilishly delicious dipping sauce. While the bar was filled with customers enjoying the Jet game...there was a huge cheer of the crowd! I was surprised since the touchdown was scored by Denver and NOT the NY Jets. I said to my friend, " Wow! This must be the a Denver fans place." Then a slightly cheery woman yelled out " Shots! Shots on the house!" To my dismay.. this wasn't a Denver bar at all. As it turns out Dirty Taco has a "FREE SHOT" Policy. While the football game is on the televisions , the first touchdown scored gets EVERYONE in the place a FREE SHOT! I was ecstatic! I 've been to my share of Restaurants and bars, but this was a first for me. Our smiley, Friendly and very attentive waitperson Liz, explained the Free Shot policy and proceeded to bring me a tequila shot with a tiny lime wedge. Omg this place was YUM!!!! I was out visiting friends on Long Island and we chose this place because I'm vegan and they have 3 vegan taco offerings (that are all different and creative). I did get all 3 of the vegan tacos including an impossible meat taco, a vegan chorizo taco and a tofu quinoa (not pictured because I ate it before I took a photo) which was honestly my favorite! I was pretty surprised too because I usually love the mock meats but the tofu quinoa taco was bright, fresh and delicious! I wish the impossible meat was chopped up like real ground taco meat (it was served in a patty form on the taco) and the chorizo taco also had refried beans- which made it a bit too soft. I think they could have done with either chorizo OR refried beans. Everyone else at my table who ate the animal-based tacos also LOVED their food. The cocktails were excellent too- I got the spicy ginger but asked for it with mezcal instead of tequila. I've been to all 4 locations. All are consistent with food and drink quality. I love the Mexican-Asian fusion. Nothing quite like it in Long Island. But no matter the location, it's always a good time. I do have to say though, service at Patchogue is superb. The bartender (which I unfortunately didn't get the name of) was extremely attentive and welcoming. The owner, Tom, is the sweetest. He immediately greeted us upon walking in. Came to check on us multiple times and spoke with my boyfriend and I for quite some time. I'm glad I made it out to this new location even though I'm not familiar with the area.
