Came here for my friend's birthday and our server was rude. Kept being insistent about leaving a tip. We went to the bathroom and left our bags at the table then made someone get us saying it's not appropriate for us to all be in the bathroom. read more

Happy Birthday to me...well, back on January 10th that is. I might be almost two months late on writing this review, but it doesn't change the fact that visiting Dirty Taco on my B-Day was outstandingly awesome. You see, I actually was planning on dining at the RVC DT back in January of 2020, but then timing got away from us and the whole Covid thing began soon after which just kept pushing off a trip to any Dirty Taco for years...until my wife and I finally made the trip down to the Patchogue location on that January Tuesday night in which we waited about 30 minutes to sit. Now I would never put a wait time as a negative just because a place is crowded, but what about spinning a wait time into a positive? Unheard of! We had put our name/number down, but walked around Main St. only to make our way back inside to the festive bar area where we were greeted by multiple employees. They cleaned a spot up for us and made it comfortable enough to almost want to eat there. But knowing this was a birthday dinner, we still wanted to sit at a table. Impressively enough, the manager who originally took our name came over to us to let us know it would be another few minutes and to double check that we didn't want to stay at the bar. I was impressed by this because he remembered that I was the "Josh" party and was super friendly in making sure I got what I wanted. Only a few minutes later we ended up with a table near the side of the main door, but there was a heater set up that the manager made sure we knew how to use if we wanted it cooler/hotter. The hospitality of the staff up to this point was incredible. It only continued with the waitress who was just as friendly and accommodating as she explained the menu setup and taco styles available. Boy does DT have some unique and deliciously-sounding tacos, as well as a bunch of other tasty stuff. We started with some queso which was warm, gooey, and had a little kick that hit the spot. From there, the wife and I had two tacos each and split a third one. Mine were the Jamaican Jerk chicken taco (just the right amount of juicy flavor and heat) and the classic baja (beer battered cod which was super flakey and well-balanced by the pico, slaw, and horseradish dijon cream on it). We shared the carne asada taco (tender steak with a creamy cilantro infusion of toppings) while my wife dined on the chimichurri and chicken tinga tacos (which she reported were quite enjoyable). Our downfall was also ordering a side of Mexican street fries which had an almost sweet (bud addicting) flavor to them mixed with the gooeyness of queso fresco. All that grub left us rather full. Oh and I might add that we washed it all down with a couple of drinks, mine being the blackberry walnut margarita which you might think sounds odd, but it was honestly one of the better drinks I've had recently. Not overpowering in nutty taste with a little pucker of sour from the blackberries and a zing of mint in there. Despite it being my birthday, we didn't make that public (so we escaped without a "show" as I noticed was taking place at other tables), but interestingly, just as we were getting ready to leave, a different manger (owner?) came over and brought us complimentary shots of coquito. Why? I do not know, but we made sure to thank him and let him know just how impressed we were with our meal from start to finish. Overall, Dirty Taco is a truly wondrous place from its friendly staff to its fun interior and glorious grub. It might have taken me years to finally eat at one (and a few months to even write up the review!), but consider this as only the beginning of a desire to return to DT many times to come. read more

Went here Saturday 3/28 and had the best time! Was a little bit of a wait for a table but our serve Lorraine made up for the wait! She was friendly, attentive, and timely! This is the first time I've gotten food at Dirty Taco and I don't think I'll ever get a taco any place else ever again! We had 4 tacos between the two of us for takeout; the cheeseburger taco, the Vietnamese shrimp taco, the calamari taco (yes you read that right) and the cod taco. All of them off the hook good, I can't even tell you which was my favorite because they were all so freakin good! And let me tell you, there was no skimping on the protein, we could barely finish the fourth one. Four thumbs up and highly recommend! read more

It's very hard to confess, but I probably eat here like at least twice a week. I'm actually addicted. I can eat about 10 of the cauliflower tacos and still eat the guac and chips and churros. I've been to multiple locations and the food is always amazing! The guac is so creamy and has a nice hint of lime, could eat the entire serving by myself. I usually order a naked taco, which is basically 2 taco toppings over salad. Always delicious and so flavorful! They have a lot of vegetarian and vegan options which is a huge plus! They also have amazing drinks and delicious desserts. If you want to eat amazing Mexican food with good vibes all around, this is the place to visit! You will not be disappointed. I do have to say, this place does get crowded during the weekend so get there early! read more

What a fun spot! I met my cousin for lunch and I suggested Dirty Taco. All summer long I've been trying to have dinner here, Friday nights are packed! Once seated, there are so many choices. The taco choices are fun! The drink choices? Off the chain good! So all these great choices are calling us, let's get down and dirty with some tacos and drinks. Dirty Taco has a bunch of fun Margarita flavors like Peach, Pineapple and Mango, I started with a Coconut Margarita. Very funky indeed. We also shared the Kung Pao Dumplings. Filled with pan seared chicken and spicy ponzu, the drink and the dumplings got the lunch party started. The Corn Filled Tortilla Tacos are being served and they are pretty large. I ordered two for myself and they hit the spot. My first taco was the Korean Short Rib taco. Made with braised short rib, kimchi slaw, cilantro and spicy mayo, This is a crazy taco mash up. My second taco was the Vietnamese Shrimp taco. Made with pan fried shrimp, slaw, roasted peanuts and Thai peanut sauce, this was such a kick ass taco! I came here for dinner with some friends. I've officially been to all the dirty taco's on the island, and each one has their own uniqueness about them. The drinks were good and consistent with the other locations. The food was alright, the tacos didn't taste like it was made to order, and the service felt rushed. No one said 'Hurry up and buy' but it felt like it. This location was busy. The busboys were grabbing plates off the table with food still on the plate. The Dirty Taco is located on a cute little street and reminds me of a quaint downtown area in a smaller sized city. The restaurant has a hippie vibe with loud music but you can still talk to the person sitting next to you. The menu is very varied with Latin/Asian fusion flavors. Lots of alcohol choices. What would make the menu better would be if they added some mocktail choices as well. The taco prices are for one so you can mix and match the tacos. There were so many varieties that I had trouble choosing but settled on the birria taco and the bang bang shrimp taco. The birria taco had a shell that was crunchy but not too hard with cheese and shredded beef that was tender and you dipped it in consumme. The bang bang shrimp taco had 3 battered and deep fried shrimp covered in coleslaw and drizzled with a slightly spicy, tangy and creamy sauce. Both were delicious and I would order them again. I also got a side of plantains and dirty fries. The dirty fries were really tasty but I was disappointed in the plantains as they were pan fried and burnt on the outside. And they were advertised as sweet plantains but it was drizzled with a lime crema and cilantro which didn't match the sweet profile. There is plenty of street parking within walking distance. The bathrooms were not the most well maintained as there was no hand soap. It was quite busy on a Thursday evening at 6 pm so I can only imagine how packed it is on the weekend. The food is very delicious so I would definitely be back for more tacos. read more

This place was rad. Cool atmosphere, tasty drinks, tasty tacos! The Dirty Taco definitely gets busy, and it gets loud, but that didn't really take away from our experience. My wife and I went on a random Thursday night in January and felt we had a short wait of just 30 minutes since some larger groups definitely waited longer, but the wait is worth it! The Birria Taco, Korean Short Rib Taco, and Caramelized Brussel Sprouts Taco were phenomenal! We also really enjoyed their Cold Peanut Noodles! I imagine everything on the menu is spectacular. Can't wait to come back and show more of our friends this place when we get the chance. We'll be back for sure. read more

My friend and I had dinner tonight at Dirty Taco. Our server Nina was helpful and quick. Everything was fine until dessert. We wanted a coffee which Nina said they didn't serve. We thought that odd but whatever. We ordered the tres leche cake. My friend and I are both ENL teachers and so many of our students bring tres leche cakes into our classes. The one served at Dirty Taco is a misconception of this wonderful treat. The one at Dirty Taco was dry without flavor. When we told our waitress Nina a manager came over to inquire. We said we were not happy with the cake. We assumed he would take the cake off our bill. We literally had 2 small bites. You don't need a great deal to know if something is good. He told us he would not take the charge off our bill. Sooooo petty AND unprofessional. I told him that was the last time I would frequent the restaurant. I heard a few people raving about this place, so I felt compelled to give them a shot. Who doesn't love tacos? On the West Coast you'll find the best, and since I'm on the East Coast let's see what Dirty Taco is about. The waitress Nina was really nice. She took our drink order and came back quickly with the drinks. My honeydew margarita was decent, but the other margaritas for the table didn't make the cut. We placed our dinner orders and appetizer, Chips and Guac. Our Chips and Guac came out, the Guac didn't have any flavor and the chips tasted stale. Nina disappeared, and I attributed her absence to the busy crowd in the restaurant. However, it took us 45 minutes to receive our order to my disappointment. My Birria Tacos didn't have any flavor, no seasoning I could taste. I had to use the mango habanero pepper sauce on the table to enjoy my tacos. I also ordered the pork rib taco. The pork tasted over cooked and hard. It wasn't tender at all. I would stay away from the pork rib taco altogether. Overall, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The hype around this place has to be the atmosphere and because this particular area doesn't have too many places with a vibe. The food sounds good on the menu, but unfortunately the taste is a different story. Dirty Taco missed the mark for me. read more

I've had this place on my radar for a while and randomly decided to go for lunch with my cousin. It took a while to be seated and it took even longer before someone came over to our table. However, once we got the ball rolling, it was a good time, especially with Kerry as our waitress! We started off with mango margaritas and some Chips and Guac which were phenomenal. The margaritas were the perfect blend of tart and sweet and the guac was incredibly fresh. We followed up with two tacos each which was more than enough. I ordered the Asian sloppy Joe taco (4.5 stars) and the fried chicken taco (2.5 stars). The Asian sloppy Joe had an unforgettable combination of flavors and will certainly be one of my faves aside from the traditional tacos we all know and love. I give this tacos 4.5 stars because it had a little too much sauce. The fried chicken taco didn't stay crispy once doused with lots of BBQ sauce. Conceptually it was nice but the execution just wasn't there for me. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and look forward to trying more tacos and margaritas. read more

About a month ago Joe and stopped in for a cocktail to celebrate my retirement. We had a lovely time and greats laughs with the patrons and bar staff. The cocktails and appetizer was awesome. Love the cool vibe and decor of Dirty Taco and the hard working staff. They never stop moving, such an asset to DT. The loaded totchos are a treat as well. Crispy tots topped with ooey gooey yummyness. For my tacos I got the caramelized Brussel sprout, bbq pulled chicken and Vietnamese shrimp. I've had the pulled chicken and shrimp numerous times but I've never had the Brussel sprout one. It was delicious!!! Definitely one of my new favorites. I also never had the rice and beans before but it was yummy and had just the right amount of seasoning! Other tacos enjoyed at my table were: Peaking duck bao buns, birria, pork belly, and short rib. Everything was delicious as always!! Now drinks... The star drink of the evening at our table was midnight blue. It not only tasted delicious but it looked very pretty!! Definitely an eye catcher. The craze of fans pouring into this new establishment in the heart of Patchogue was nothing less than epic. Impressive to see how efficiently the staff worked together to fulfill your every need. The food was served fast, fresh and on silver trays so no breaking of plates here. We had Dan as our server and he was outstanding with his knowledge of the menu and storytelling of how this family owned business got started. He guided us on ordering tips to save us money, and charmed us with his wit. The food is unique with its take on Asian infused Mexican dishes and the drinks are simple and beautiful with fresh herbs. The artwork here is Gorgeous. It's like being in an art gallery while you dine. I hope one day they will offer images of this art for purchase. We just had the pleasure of dining at this location for the very first time, & as usual the food, service, & ambiance was exquisite. Quite a unique experience & each & every time we have dined at a Dirty Taco we always leave happy & full! I cannot say enough amazing things about this establishment from the friendliest servers, to the delicious food, & the crazy fun decor, you always feel like its an experience more than just an average typical restaurant. We had the privilege of meeting William one of the owners tonight & he shared the backstory on how Dirty Taco came to be. The food here is out of this world. The ambiance is so well themed, there is so much to look at. The service was quick and fast which i appreciate because although they were super busy I didn't feel forgotten. My daughter's kid meal was huge and so were our tacos. Had a late night dinner here last night. The food is so fun and innovative, there are flavors from all over the world. Our server, Rob, made our meal so enjoyable, he's really special. He's so great you should ask to be seated in his area. His recommendations were fantastic, the bao buns appetizer, Cuban sandwich taco and others he suggested, each dish was exceptional. A new favorite spot in Patchogue, Dirty Taco is a newcomer that holds its own with the many other options in town. The service is terrific with friendly hosts and wait staff and the drinks are top notch along with the wide array of tacos. They have a diverse menu with options for vegan and vegetarian diners but my favorite is the Birra taco which is pan fried with stewed beef and cheese. The Southern Fried Chicken Taco and Brussels Sprouts Taco were also fantastic but in truth I haven't ordered anything I didn't like. They also have a great bar with a huge selection of tequila and quality cocktails and beer. The vibe is fun and festive and if the restaurant does have a drawback, it would be its popularity because you'll need to grab a seat early on the weekends! read more

Blood orange margaritas for me and spicy for my sis... this is my new favorite drink, how can anyone go wrong with blood orange anything! Pulled chicken quesadillas, exactly what you expect but with bold flavor and a good balance of everything. Shishito peppers and sweet Plantains, a perfect app that was light but got us going for the meal. Nothing like ver the top in flavor which made it perfect set up to pick at while we enjoyed drinks and waited for food!
