As a longtime customer over 20 years, I can't believe how bad they treated us. We were having issues with the TV so they sent a tech out. When he left, we tried the TV and it did the same exact thing before he got there! Call DIRECTV back so they could send somebody to fix the TV. The only day they had available was today.(Friday. 5-22-26) we had to cancel a doctors appointment on that day because obviously they were scheduling at their convenience and not the customers and we didn't wanna go the entire weekend without the TV. They were expected between 12-4. We get an email stating they were coming early around 10:15. It is now 1235 and no tech has shown up! There's many other problems with them as well as changing your bill charging you for something you didn't order, etc.. since they were bought out by another company it's been terrible! We are changing service and canceling DIRECTV after so many years. Don't let them scam you into getting their service. It's horrible. read more

I have been a loyal customer of DirectTV for over 20 years...... 20 years! Every few months we lose stations, a few months ago it was NBC, now it's CBS, during football season! I know loyalty means nothing, but for over 20 years I have passed on cable, streaming, etc. and stayed loyal to DirectTV, but now, not going to take it anymore! I have so many other options, I am quite sure they need me more than I need them! Please, please please, take my advice and DO NOT ENGAGE WITH DirectTV!!! Learn from my experience and look elsewhere! You have so many other options, go the other routes. I am not some quack, I have enjoyed my time with DirectTV for over 20 years, but loyalty not reciprocated is insanity!!! I promise you will thank me, AVOID DirectTV, you will be thrilled you did!!!!!! ZERO STARS! read more

If I had the option of giving them 0 stars I would. We live and Florida and we have storms all the time. We loose service all the time during the summer and they never offer any compensation for the time the service doesn't work. Also, after your first 12 months they up your bill by 50%. Now, I went to cancel my service after my contract expired, and they still charge me an ETF fee. The only response I get is "That's the policy." Your overpriced services and terrible customer service is why you and all other cable companies will be gone soon. You don't value your customers and now it's too late to change. Good Riddance read more

They say your late all the time and charge you late fees every month and if there is a cloud in the sky then you lose all your channels and if you call them and ask for a service call they send out people that doesn't like to do anything and say they can't find anything wrong P.S. And now when I want to pay my bill and talk to someone there is no one to answer your call and they say they are talking care of there customers and giving them free HBO for a month but I guess certain people doesn't get that I have talked to five people today and they said about the same kinda problems so everyone that is having problems should put it on here and on Facebook and all other media Services If I could give it a lower rating I would! read more

Watch your bill, DIRECTV is adding channels (outside of the free for 3 months promotions) and charge you without your permission. This has happened 6 times to me in the last 5 months. I am longer a DIRECTV customer because of it. read more

I wish I could have given 0 but can't, so 1 is the best I can do. The customer service and tech support knowledge of directv's workings is inept at best. After spending a frustrating 4 hours on the phone trying to get a problem solved, which I still have, I decided to cancel my subscription, only to be told I was under a 2 yr contact because of an upgrade (which caused the problem) I received a day earlier. I was never told by customer service that an upgrade would cause me to have a 2 yr contract. Now, to cancel will cost me a cancellation fee for something I knew nothing about. A bit of a bait and switch. Beware of directv's underhanded practices if you decide to go with them. read more

LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS A company doesn't get so many consistent one-star reviews for good service. If anyone is considering using their services, hopefully, these consistent negative reviews will help you make a decision to pick another vendor. LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS LIARS Q - What happens AT&T when you outsource and off-shore your customer service department? A - You get a lot of pissed off customers that will flock to your competitors. I am now one of them. Despicable treatment by a group of totally untrained, uneducated, incompetent L I A R S First call 10/17 - This is where I lost 51 minutes of my life trying to explain an issue to their incoherent representatives. First Eileen who was totally useless. Then her 'supervisor', Jasmine who guaranteed me I would receive an email from someone on their tech team within 72 hours, Ticket #1-236907879796R2. It sounded far-fetched, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt. 10/24 - As anticipated, no response. Called again and spoke with Sierra who again, was of no use. I asked to AGAIN speak with a supervisor. After waiting for 1 hour 27 minutes (stupid me) with her coming back on the line every so often to assure me that the supervisor was coming, she disconnected the call. I guess that was her way of letting me know that a supervisor wouldn't be coming after all. Right back at you AT&T/DirectTV. Tomorrow, it's my turn and I will be one to hit the disconnect button and terminate your services. read more

Horrible experience. DTV solicited me in Walmart. Made all kinds of promises, then did not deliver. Devin Downim promised me he would make sure the install went well and take care of any issues. This instal went awful and he wont return my calls. 3 times they came out and still I sent have the channels they promised and my internet is not working like it did before they came. Hours on the phone trying to get assistance. If you go to Walmart and they are selling Directv, dont beleive the guy. He's lying to you. Dont be polite and just talk to him...just keep walking and look away. It will sound too good to be true..because it is. He's lying. Devin Downim is a liar. read more

All of the reviews are accurate and true. The best way to deal with it is file a complaint with the FCC which forces Direct TV to respond. The more people that flood the FCC with complaints the better. Expect to get screwed if you have Diect TV read more

This is a horrible company. I had them a few years ago and my remote control stopped working even after I put new batteries in it and they wanted to charge me for a new one. I discontinued my service because that was ridiculous. Few years later I went back to them. The problem is for customer service you get someone in the Philippines pretty much any time of the day. I can't understand them well. This time I had no TV reception for 3 or 4 days and they wanted to charge me $99 to come out and take a look and fix it. I told them bushes were blocking the dish but on the television under repairs it said do not try to go on your roof and fix the problem. So to fix the problem I'm leaving them and I'm switching over to Spectrum. If they don't work out then I'll do the next best thing I will have an antenna installed like my friend did and get a box and get just the local broadcast stations like she does. By the way if you go with DirecTV everytime it rains and it does a lot in Florida you'll have no reception. I had their internet service through AT&T once and it was horrible it was like I was back in the early 90s it was so slow. Do yourself a favor stay away from this company. read more

We've been AT&T/DIRECT TV LOYAL customers for over 17 years!! This company out sources their techs because NO ONE WILL WORK FOR ATT/Direct TV. BECAUSE THEY ARE AN ATROCIOUS HORRIBLE ORGANIZATION!!! My ailing 83 YEAR OLD father experienced ABNORMAL TREATMENT and various unkept app by the 2 seperate techs, that came to the house. A simple reroute of 2 boxes spanned out 7 days because they cant get their TECHS cant count to 10!! Or get it together!! One tech was named Mohammed Employee Id#??? AND the other was named Samuel EMPLOYEE ID#54234 in the CENTRAL NJ AREA. Both OF THEM should be written up, sent to proper customer service school training and/or seperated and an ACUTE corrective action PLAN put in place. However, this company will lose CUSTOMERS for sure. I will be terminating my service soon enough. I'd rather stream than deal with the incompetence. THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES. read more

The worst service ever. I can't wait till my contract is up. Get this crap off my house. They sneak promo's on your bill so you have or call their horrible offshore call center monthly to attempt a bill adjustment. The call center reps barely speak English and don't have a clue what your are asking for. I am done. BTW- just like solar, wind mills, you loose satellite in rain storms. read more

Good luck with this company in Orlando, worst customer service & installation ever. How do you feel about that you had an appointment with them then the tech decided no show no call on you when you took time off from work. I thought they supposedly looking for you not the other way around!! Again, good luck with this company! They wanted you to switch from other cable companies to them then who knows what's gonna happening afterwards. Been with DirecTV for 4 yrs now I think and they have gone downhill majorly. They kept upping my bill until recently it was over $200. I was told I had credits and my monthly bill would only be $66.23 plus tax...hahaha ya my Bill's been over $200! They refuse to honor their word. So I will be cancelling them. They suck, they take you for your money, and they dont care. I'm tired of being lied to over and over when I've told them I can not afford these outrageous Bill's. So they can keep their services! They suck. They treat their customers like garbage and make promises they dont keep. So if you are looking for a good tv company avoid by all costs! read more

Would not even give them a 1 star. I waited all day for a service that was supposed to occur between noon and 4. The technician said he was running late and would be here between (at 5pm) 6-6:30 - never showed. I called Abdul and he sounded like he was sleeping. I will cancel my cell. direct tv and all service with AT&T. this is ridiculous. Thanks for the support. You stink. read more

We have Direct TV for Nfl network. When the first game of the season is on NBC and the tv goes black for 30 minutes and they won't answer the phone! They are full of crap. They told me I would receive a $200. gift card. A year 1/2 later haven't seen it. When asking about its arrival, they tell me I had to activate it on their website in order to receive it. Talk about bait an switch tactics...I never ever watch TV, but to cancel their service will cost me over $200 bucks. Because of a contract, I'm forced to keep my end of the deal but they aren't. Too bad I agreed to have them bill me through ATT. I like ATT very much, I had them for over 10 years and now I'll probably have to leave them in order to leave direct TV. Otherwise I'll get all their charges and end up with no phone if I don't pay them. Very unfortunate situation for me. Very unfortunate. read more

Don't fall for the "good deals" this company has to offer. They have the ABSOLUTE WORST COSTUMER SERVICE!!! We cancelled an install about a month ago and the people still showed up to the install. We sent him away, a month later still no refund after countless calls and talking to multiple people!!! I can not believe how unorganized and trash customer service this company has! Direct tv loses programs even when not raining. They make the packages sound good, promise a 100 dollar visa card and tell you that at the end of the first year you can negotiate a new package, as long as you sign up for another 2 years. I moved to the St Petersburg, Florida area and wanted to keep my expenses so I decided to use the Direct TV app. I signed up for the service and got to the payment section. At that time I also received a message from my credit card company stating the charge was approved. This happened a total of 3 times on 2 cards. I have been a Direct TV customer since 2004 and yes, depending on the weather you're without TV access for a short period of time. Moving from DC area to Plant City, FL was the WORSE experience ever. First of all the Technician came out at 9:30, it was pouring rain, so of course he knew installation wasn't going to happen, so why come? They call my MD house number versus the cell number provided to reschedule for later due to the weather. I was told that someone would return by 4pm which didn't happen. After (5) calls, they tell me they'd have to reschedule but never gave me a time frame.. So, I have no cable and contrary to their advertisements, the Move transfer was not smooth.... So disappointed, if it wasn't for the NFL package, I would buy out of my contract... If you're not a NFL fan, find another cable option.. read more

I wanted to ask questions and price compare prior to electing a satellite service. DIRECT TV apparently has no local office--you can answer questions by phone if you can navigate past the automatic voice that only gives you options to open a service or already under contract, no "questions". When I finally got to a human, they did not want to answer questions without the correct spelling of my name and my credit card in hand. They lost my business. There seemed to be some fuzzy fine print regarding your costs if you bought out your contract or changed to cable--whether/how much you had to pay for return of equipment, etc. They wouldn't even tell the total cost with taxes and fees. Really a sad way to do business. They over 145 channels for about the same price as DISH who overs 50 at that rate. read more

I've been an AT&T customer over 10 years, and after trying Brighthouse (not as good since acquired by Spectrum), decided to stick w AT&T for all my TV accounts. However disappointed that no install experience ever as bad as that with Alejandro F today in Pinellas. I took the afternoon off work to await this install, which Directv kept confirming all day. Then Alejandro arrives and immediately complaining that mine is 3 TV hookups, not 2 as he originally thought. Then he wants me to reschedule because it's cloudy outside. After telling him that I already took afternoon off work for this install, I overheat him telling his manager to not expect Alejandro to get wet in case it rains. I said that's ridiculous because it stopped raining hours ago and there might as well not be any Directv installs all summer, Florida's rainy season. I asked Alejandro if he couldn't try hooking up at least one TV while it was dry. Then Alejandro saud that would cost me extra. When I told him to start installing while I call Durectv to handle billing for the install, he drive away. Alejandro F clearly didn't show up at my house with any intention to install, making every excuse. Weather forecast for my zip code is online and obvious Why confirm the appt all day, have me take off work, to waste my time as such? Keeping installers on staff giving terrible service like Alejandro F shakes all my years of confidence in At&T and Directv. Due to software updates their service no longer will connect with our internet provide. Have had several high level techs attempt to solve the problem and they were unable. We had no choice but to request Directv to disconnect our service. They informed me that it was fine but then went on the tell me it would cost us $500 as the contract was still in effect. I have never been more disappointed in a tv service I have been in the last 3 months of our contract with directv. The most recent issue we are having is being out of service since Tuesday after a light shower. We were told a technician couldn't make it out u til Friday, yesterday between 12-4. Seeing as they have no showed us 3 previous times, we called at 315 to make sure hey were coming. We were lied to by your customer service rep who told us they were on the way and would be there within an hour. When they weren't here by 5, we called again and were lied to for a second time telling us they would call us within 30 Minutes. To our surprise no one (or lack there of) called us back and we had to call once again at 6pm, which was already 2 hours past the 4 hour time frame they were supposed to arrive. Not only were we on hold for an extremely ridiculous amount of time, again, but the representative hung up on us. The service, the employees and management in this company is a complete scam. I will never recommend this company to anyone. Not only have they been in breech of contract with out service, they have caused us to lose money taking off work to meet the technician who never shows. read more
