This is a zero star review. After returning a modem in the store and telling the employee we were moving to close the account we find out we are still being charged for monthly service. 3 months at $50 per month plus a modem they said we never returned. They will not refund and are billing us for the modem they lost. This is theft in my opinion. read more

If I could give zero stars I would! I came in here today, Sunday 6/29/25 to return a Wi-Fi pod that I had received immediately and after several attempts to set it up I was told by a representative over the phone that it had a malfunction and it did not work. I already have an extender anyway that is not with spectrum that seems to work fine so I returned this back to the store because I just received it two days ago and was trying to set it up which was unsuccessful. I walked into the store about 12:05 PM. They had just opened there was one customer in there, so I waited for Jorge to come out and assist. He seemed like he was an honest person that worked for Spectrum and told me the pod had been removed from my account and he canceled that. He tried to offer me two free lines of service told me that would be free. I would just have to pay for the phone. I told him no thank you I was not interested and that was that. He told me he cannot give me a receipt right then and there, but would be happy to email it to me once he completed everything on my account and told me look out for an email. About 20 minutes later I had already left. I noticed an email from Spectrum.I did not pay any attention to it because I thought it was my receipt for returning the Pod. An hour later, I received two more emails from Spectrum saying my service order has been updated. I thought this was an email notifying me that my pod that I had returned has been received however surprisingly it was an email showing that I had added multiple services to my account that I knew nothing about and did not agree to! Never was even talked to me about adding TV service or anything else other than adding two cell phone lines and I told him no. I immediately called customer service because I did not want to drive back up there and cuss him out because I felt so upset and frustrated that a representative in the store or even over the phone would do something like this! This is uncalled for and very unprofessional! The supervisor Dominic that I spoke with over the phone assured me that the additional services that I had not asked for or even were offered have been removed my account and everything is back to what I previously had. If anyone goes to the store Do not let Jorge Reyes assist you! Because if you do, you will leave with the service services not added to your account. Sales rep said he could reduce my cable TV/internet bill by moving my cell service to Spectrum Mobile. He reduced the bill by cutting my services (cutting my internet speed from 1000MBps to 200 when I work from home have 5 others in the home tapping wifi and significantly cutting the number of channels in my TV package). The ONLY device I needed to buy out doesn't qualify for their program (their customer service response was basically, "sorry about your luck") -- sales guy KNEW my situation and said nothing. Spectrum has given me the worst service. I have been a customer with them for 4 1/2 years and have only had phones since July of 2023. Now today I went in to upgrade two phones because they said I have a bill for almost $300 that needs to be taken care of first. I ask how I am on auto pay and not have missed my payments and they told me it is from when I had internet. I asked from 2 years ago and they said yes. I said no I returned the equipment and paid everything off, even asked the guy that I was at a zero balance and he said yes I just have my phones, after of course he went through a dozen things of offering me this that and the other to cancel but eventually we got there and I cancelled and returned my equipment. I have the app that I have been on from time to time and even recently went on to see about upgrading phones. Bill is all up to date as it always has been so nothing has changed. I go in today and they say well you can't you have to pay the almost $300 back bill. I question it and no one can tell me details because "its just too old". They are in shock I have not see the bill even though I pay every month on auto pay but now have a huge one. Now I need to pay this to move forward. They says well call billing which that is a joke all they know how to do is say huh this is old but it is your bill funny it just showed up on your account but no moving forward until you pay it. Even during a hurricane once. Speaking of which we had a category five hurricane that they came and replaced a very old box. But we never lost service at all. TECO stayed up Spectrum stayed up. I've been to a Spectrum store twice just to change out equipment because I changed the type of service I wanted. First, why would I need to exchange my equipment? Second, why don't they have a separate person who just handles quick equipment exchanges? There are 14 people ahead of me. There is not enough seating so I'm sitting on the floor. People who are here to buy a phone will take a long time with the representatives. Plus the last time I came here and waited to exchange my equipment because the ones they gave me were not working, I waited at least an hour to do a five minute exchange and received no instructions. Got the equipment home and it had the same problem. I called customer support who couldn't help me, so they sent out a technician who told me that I never needed to exchange my equipment. The guy at the store never activated the new router. I made an appointment today. Not that it's going to speed things up. She has had this store for quite a while as to where I've met her before and she even remembered my name. Spoke with Brian regarding my cancellation of my account. We were told previously by two representatives that we would not need to return our equipment so we got rid of it. They are now charging us 136 dollars for their error. The only thing they can say is "if you find the equipment we will credit this amount back to you". 136 dollars for an error that was not ours! I have this box in front of my house. Needs a new cover. I asked a truck that was in my neighborhood and he didn't have one on the truck. I had to call about another matter so while on the phone I mentioned it. They sent someone out (missed the arrival time 3 times) and he didn't have one on the truck. Went to this spectrum store, and was helped by Naomi. I was there to turn in equipment and all she wanted to do was sell me spectrum wireless. I showed her this picture hoping she could request service. She said I could go to home depot and buy one. I explained I was not going to service their equipment. She told me I'd have to call. Again. I told her that the wires are exposed, I'll just wait until we lose service all together. This does not make me want to switch to their wireless service. So frustrating. read more

Brand new Spectrum store located on Hillsborough to replace the old Linebaugh location. They just opened a few days ago with a completely upgraded look. Besides TV, internet, and phone services they also sell mobile phones. The layout is strikingly similar to a typical cell phone store, and the vibe is much more sheik than the dumpy distribution centers I was used to. When I arrived to return equipment, I was the only customer. The three ladies behind desks were busy, so I waited a few moments and took photos, because, yelp. I noticed how spacious it was plus all the phones you can play with while waiting for your turn. There was even a seating area. My customer service rep was very friendly and helpful. PSA... Do NOT sign up for Spectrum! Their equipment works half the time, and the customer service is ABHORRENT, and make NO attempt to rectify a bad experience. They're so greedy, we cancelled 2 days into a new billing cycle, they refuse to prorate or discount anything. So now we're out over$200 for less than 2 days of service. Greedy! Actually talked to corporate office, and nothing but gaslighting and nothing to make it right! Go anywhere but spectrum! Even their CEO has a D- rating(55/100) from consumer ratings and industry peers! So obviously the $#!+ is rolling down hill! Even filed a complaint with the FCC. The corporate office even compared themselves to Netflix as a monthly subscription service. $19 vs $200+. Even after documented issued that led to cancellation, they refused to even discount the bill, as I was willing to pay for the days we used. At least Netflix will prorate the $19. I have been trying to downgrade my services to just have internet as I moved to Hulu plus live. They literally keep you in the IVR for hours. When you finally get a representative, they transfer you to another agent and leave you on hold for hours! You have no ability to downgrade services online. This is a horrible business model to try and retain your customers. read more

Spectrum has the worst customer service ever after 15 phone calls an 7 service tickets the problem still exists. If you by chance don't answer their call back which shows on caller ID as spam they close out the ticket without any investigation on their part. if you do answer they put you on hold forever hoping you will hang up and they close out the ticket. Today is my last day with Scrotum.. I've been a customer since Brighthouse changed to Soectrum and relatively happy until 2021. In the last year I changed my plan 3 times, including turning in both DVR's and going down to the select TV package in a attempt to reduce my bill. It never changed and let me tell you I love paying for something I no longer have. To top it off I thought I'd stay with Spectrum TV but cancel internet. Surprise! May 27, 2023, I came in with my daughter around 4pm to switch from Verizon to Soectrum. This location was not busy at all. 2 out of 3 Customer service Reps were busy. I checked in, I got a notice on my phone that someone was ready to see me. I went to the only employee that was not helping anyone. Not to mention, this was after she went in the back for 5 mins. She redirected me to check in again. I informed her I already have. Then she snaps at me and says, "give me a second!" She could have said I will be right with you, I don't read minds. Then I asked for her name, she said better yet, "I have a business card." I said, "great, so I can talk to someone about your customer service." She slams her draw & says, you know what, forget it, runs on the back and says something in Spanish after she heard me ask her co-worker for her name. Then that co-worker refused to give me their names! I felt very discriminated against. All the employees were Spanish and specking in Spanish only. Matthew did a great job assisting me transferring my mobile devices from T-Mobile to Spectrum. I also upgraded my main phone. I had tech issues. but he was very supportive even though there was nothing he could do further. Overall I had a good experience even though I may have gotten on his nerves with my stress. read more

I have never been so misguided by a company. On Dec 6, 2019 I returned and canceled my service with Spectrum. I asked how much do I owe and was told to wait for the new prorated bill. Today, I received a bill for 2 months of service. My service was never canceled and was charged for another month. After speaking to three customer service agents and a supervisor they will only credit one month. Nowhere on my bill nor did the agent at the store location tell me they bill on a monthly subscription. I feel I should not be charged for something I don't use. Spectrum is proof of corporate greed. I closed my account on 5th of August and they say They no longer prorate the bill. They expect the full payment for the month for $301. The cost per day should be around $11 dollar. The cost should have been $55. Trying to steal $245 for services not rendered. They shutdown the access to Spectrum TV. I talk to the customer service agent and said if you give me access back to Spectrum TV on the internet for the month of August I would pay. she said to pay the $301 and you will have to establish a new account and pay an additional cost. They must think I am stupid. Don't do business them. The quality of the services provided that drops multiple times a day highest was 15 in one day losing both internet and phone. I went to this store to have my new phone activated, I waited about 1 1/2 hours and still no,activation, I told them I had an appointment and would pick it up later. and l left BUT while I was there, they didn't seem to know what do do, one girl asked one of the other guys for help, then he asked another one for help, and I though WOW what did I get myself into. anyway it took a total of 3 1/2 hours to activate my phone, unfortunately I lost my phone and have to get my new one activated again, so I am hoping by now they learned how to do it. read more

I have had a Spectrum for 5 years since i moved from a different state. They're customer service is the worst. I can say in the handful times I have called there has been maybe two reps that knew what they were talking about and how to speak to customers. I changed over to a business account a few months ago and they were still very rude, and very unprofessional. It's great that you are not charged for certain things, but if you want to keep your customers you need to have reps trained, especially in the claims department. I was NEVER sent a bill since i opened my business account and had to call in various times to have them send me one. When they finally sent me a bill, it was an old bill from my residential account and when I signed in using the pin they provided on that bill (because i didn't realize it was the residential account I closed earlier) I noticed there was a balance so I paid it, which i though was odd because I got off the phone with a rep and she told me a different price. Then a month later my internet is shut off and when i call they said i paid the wrong bill! I called spectrum to ask what may have happened and the rep was so rude, she made the call very difficult, kept putting me on mute when I was telling her we hadn't gotten a bill yet from them for the cable, the only one we got was from the old bill, which we found out when i called in the residential account phone on the bill, and found out they are two different groups in spectrum so one can't see the other. The rep continued to make it sound like I was trying to get something out of not paying my bill or talking to me like I was a thief. She tried to call me while on the phone with me, (without her telling me she was going to call me) and i disconnected the call because I didn't know it was her, she raised her voice and said, "if you hang up the phone again you will have to wait 24 hours before you can get any help" I asked her if she can send me a text or an email so I may receive it that way, since my phone likes to drop, "I'm sending you an email" I wait a minute and didn't receive it. when I asked if she can confirm my email since hadn't received anything yet, she said she couldn't see that she can only send it. I never heard of a company not being able to confirm with you the email address they have on file. mind you again I am now a business owner and I have to verify my clients information before providing them any verbally. So I got nothing from that rep. I didn't want to wait 24 hours, so I called back and another rep told me that the rep before was not correct about not being able to see the email, it just wasn't in their computer (which is odd because I have received emails from them before) also the rep could've sent over a text. the rep was very calm and helped with understanding why i didn't receive a bill. I still to this day, have not received a bill from spectrum on my business account (13 days from last call) and will be returning their things because ANY company is better than spectrum customer service. They definitely lost a customer here and I am stress free without them. Frontier here we are, they're better at working with small businesses. read more

I've had Spectrum for many years. Pros: quality of picture, seldom goes out in my area. Cons: How many ways can they think of to jack-up your rates? How can they care so little when you call to see what you can do about your rates? I have HD cable and a few "extra" channels (no movie channels, HBO, Showtime, etc) and wireless. Over $200/month now. I asked about possible other bundles and was told they are only offered to new customers, unless I want to threaten to take my business somewhere else. I had spectrum service in a rental property. When we moved out of the rental property, spectrum did not cover the area in which we moved. TWO YEARS later, they are sending me to collections for equipment "not returned". Here's my question. It takes TWO YEARS for your company to process a return. And if that return is not found by your company, then you hold the customer of that said equipment responsible? I find it extremely concerning the customer is held responsible for negligence on the company's part. Now I have spent hours on the phone trying to rectify the situation and making sure my credit is not scarred on Spectrum's inadequacies. My suggestion in Direct TV and ATT bundle. I pay less for my cell coverage and TV than I did with JUST my spectrum TV. read more

If I could give this place no stars I would! They are rude and both times I went here they screwed up my account. When I returned some equipment I asked why the shipped 3 different pieces and when I came to the store they gave me only 2. His reply was it doesn't matter. I asked again why and he replied with the same answer. Happy said well it matters to me and I would like to know. He gave me some stupid have assed answer, which I knew wasn't correct. I signed his piece of paper and told him he could have just answered me the first flipping time. The first time the girl gave me the boxes and she put them in the computer wrong so nothing worked. I spent 1.5 hours on the phone with tech support just to be told they would have to send someone. 2 days later we have cable. 2 days after that it is not working. Tech support zero help. 3 days later, different box and 3 power cords later we have cable. Not counting on it lasting for sure! BUYER BEWARE: According to Spectrum's Retention Department's Supervisor. if you decide to cancel your service with them period, you are NOT entitled to a credit or refund for the unused time period. There is no contract involved. The billing is done on a monthly basis, no exceptions. That is their POLICY. We weren't informed in writing nor told about this policy. I don't feel that this is fair. Customer service rep for their mobile department just told me that it is a requirement to be on auto pay for their service . This is after they keep lying to me and stealing from me and I have tons of evidence . It all started when they stated promoting their new mobile department and what great service and affordable it was . I originally told them that I wanted the unlimited service but the guy explained that it was not necessary and that they had a policy of not over charging their clients.I switched from another service because I already had them for cable and internet . This week alone I have spoken to billing and had incredible amounts of money automatically stolen by them . Just had the worst Customer Service I have ever had. This company values the incompetence of its employees more than paying customers. Three times I have called to have changes made on our account. The fourth time I was told I couldn't make changed because I was not on the account. I explained that I had done this many times before and this time I needed the change so that I wouldn't lose being able to continue my new employment. This was the first time I had EVER been told I was not on the account and couldn't make changes. If I had been told I would have had my husband call and get me put on the account. I thought getting a customer service manager would remedy this. An hour and a half and three people later I kept getting a lecture on their "Privacy Policy' I kept explaining I understood that, but it was not my fault and again if I had been told that by any of the other agent who HAPPILY complied with my previous requests that my husband needed to call and have me on the account, I would have. If he had been home today I also would have. Unfortunately, he was unreachable and I need my phone line downgraded so there was no call waiting. I also explained that I had called last week and had the voicemail canceled...no problem. I called a second time to get the call waiting canceled and they said they would. Again NO PROBLEM. I also tried to explain to them that I also thought I was on the account as I have MY OWN login and password and can access the account online. I was told that it was a "subaccount" and I can log in and see everything, but not make changes. When I asked where that information was online. I was told it wasn't. Which I already knew because AGAIN...if that information had been made clear online I would have had my husband call to actually add me to the "real" account. I tried to explain how misleading that was and the only answer I got ( besides being lectured about the privacy policy that agents could violate but not a manager) I was basically told that they didn't care what happened online as it was not done in house by them. Long story short they did NOTHING for me even when I said I was canceling my service. They made the incompetency of the agents and misleading online account system somehow my fault. In the end, I finally got so fed up with the managers I told him I was going to call back to a regular agent and see how many times it took to get someone to change the account for me. One call later it was done. So much for the Privacy Policy and the customer being right. Management had the opportunity to make this right and instead allowed me to get another agent in trouble when they did what management wouldn't do.......which the agent will now be in trouble for. I feel bad for the agents but I don't run Spectrum. The company should look at themselves as a whole as clearly, this is not an isolated incident. So I suspect is not entirely the agents' fault. I will be researching Frontier and all other internet and phone providers as soon as I write this. Just to add to this complaint. A few weeks ago I had to try 4 times to get someone in to change the internet. The first time the guy told us he couldn't do it. The second time they sent the wrong guy, the third time they didn't have the equipment. I didn't complain to them..... but clearly this company has MAJOR issues that need to be IMMEDIATELY addressed. read more
