Direct TV package we have has paprmount HBO MAX and others to stream. This has happened several times that I unable to streAM HAVE TO CHANGE PASSWORD ID. Called for support be cause the later didn't work. Representive told me to get number off Direct TV box, now nothing works be cause I pull out something. Why couldn't he look up my device. Them he wanted to change HDMI I terminated call. There is no home service, no knowledgable people to help. I am sick of having to reset passwords. This is last straw I am going to cancel. Bait and switch!!! Run away- will never try again. Tried to sign up for AT&T wireless and they suckered be into trying DIRECTV-- told me I was under no obligation if I tried premium channels for 3 months- found it hard to use and not user friendly- so I called them to cancel after 2.5 months-- they said their charging me $$450 for stopping my service early!?! I never signed up for a 36 month contract! I talked with a manager from both DIRECTV and AT&T and got nowhere. Told them I'd pay to stop this nonsense and will see how to get my money back-- their cheapest service is $89 per month with no premium channels-- what a joke that's on me--- will NEVER TRUST them again. read more

We canceled service as price became too high. Sonya Harris called 1/15/2026 at 9:30 AM and made a good offer to retain our business, (call is on a recorded line). She guaranteed $170 per month for 12 months with no changes, effective February. Now bill comes at $188.97 so called Sonya and she told me to call Billing. I retorted for her to call Billing and play the recording for them. Meanwhile, I confirmed the $170 for 12 months and no changes to service, which she reaffirmed. I have the call recorded to ensure accuracy. While Sonya is a very pleasant person, I am wholly disappointed that I am dealing with this problem. WHAT A JOKE! Their customer service (if you can call it that) is terrible. I had CCI, but they no longer offered cable. Decided to go with DirecTV. When my contract is up, I will be looking elsewhere. I have three TV's. Lately I have been having many issues. When I turn on the sets I either get a blank screen or nothing at all. I take necessay steps to resolve the issue. I unplug the power cord, I reboot, I check for softeware updates and take several other steps. If I'm lucky I can get the TV's to work, but a few days later I have the same issues. When the issues happened again this last time, I decided to call DirecTV. BIG MISTAKE!!! I never did get to speak to anyone. I was on hold for 2 hours and 20 minutes. The last hour on hold the recorder kept coming on every few minutes and saying my call will be answered in about 30 seconds. When they finally picked up the phone the message was THE CALL COULD NOT GO THROUGH. It would be laughable if it wasn't so pathetic. For the prices they charge, I don't feel I have to reboot my TV's every few days. Very poor way to do business!!! read more

Direct TV was pretty good for a while. But then the small modem got in the habit of blinking red all the time, and not recognizing the network password. I'm not a huge fan of coax. But I'm now wishing for the good old days. ATT and Direct TV are splitting up. I heard that Android TV is taking over. I hate Xfinity because of its poor service and automated voice attendant. But I sure do not like Directv's unreliability. More choices, please? I'm using Roku and looking for a lower cost alternative to Directv. (They should call me to fix their unit. I shouldn't have to call them.) Moreover, if you're on auto-pay, they charge without referencing an account number. It's really the worst. They also do double billing. I have used this service for several years and it has been reliable. Reasonable value.

Four problems I do not see changing. I will very likely be trying another company when my contract is up. 1) they have no home tech support. We have three tv's, two receive their signal fine; the third tv has trouble receiving the signal. They do nott say "we will send someone out." They have no one to send out. They say that's the fault of your internet supplier, who says no, no, you have a strong signal. Its not us. So with Directv you are on your own. They no intention of making sure you are a happy customer. 2) Directv is the only tv provider I have ever had with such awful control of recordings playback. You speed through a program, see the spot you want to start with, press play on your Gemini remote, and the playback starts way ahead of where you want. The worst. 3) Directv had a perfectly usable listing of programs you record, by date, in text form, very orderly and easy to see. Suddenly they changed to their stupid unreadable graphics, a scene from the program and some flashy unreadable design of the program title. I hate this new system and I hate how they operate: no testing out with customers to see if we like it. And no thought at all about giving us a choice. What is so hard about letting user pick graphics or text. Why not? 4) You cannot talk to the suits who make all the decisions that affect how convenient it is or is not to use Directv. They do not send inquiries around about what we think about their services. They just go about on their own mucking things up. read more

Platform is spotty and not consistent on all TV's in the house. You pay for addons and can't connect them to all TV's. It's overpriced and they charge you to quit a few hundred dollars! (20.00 a month till your contract is up) They lock you into 2 year contracts! The customer service rep was condescending and rude. Do not get stuck in a contract with them. I had Comcast for years and had more problems with Direct TV in one year then 25 with Comcast. All cable is overpriced and they treat you horrible! read more

Direct tv fucking sucks. They have made the entire transition horrible for me and my family. Not only did they constantly screw up with the installation but now they removed the HDMI cable from the upstairs tv and its no longer working. I can't explain the misery and frustration I've been put through by direct tv. I was promised quality service and internet but now I have WORSE internet and tv options. After being very upset at the treatment I received by Supervisor "Dana" I received very good service by messaging with "Shuruthi" all service people should be like Shuruthi, I am now staying with DirectTV. But, I should not have had to go to the extreme I did to get proper resolution, otherwise 5 star for Shuruthi. We have been mislead by an incompetent clerk who said when we replied to a "Free Upgrade" that we had to pay for the upgrade which was over $120. We got the part which was a little, I call it a "dongle" and replaced our small box with it and it was terrible. We immediately called and complained about it. Shortly after we received another free upgrade offer and I filled out the form and received the upgraded box, replacing the dongle and it worked much better. I called DirectTV for a refund on the unneeded part and a rude supervisor "Dana" said we were one day late and refused to correct their error or give us a refund. I love my Direct TV entertainment, I hate the Direct TV service, they put you on hold for long periods of time, they make you confirm who you are three times before they can even talk to you. They don't really care about you if you are a current customer, they treat you great if you are a new customer but once they have your contract you are nothing but a paycheck to them. Their customer service put you on hold for a long time and it seems that no-one can make a decision about your account, they will have to transfer you for that information. read more

I am so frustrated with Direct TV always changing prices on me and then this happened. I have been trying to get a new remote to work with all the remote features with my TV. After trying everything I possibly could I called Tech support. Note I have Had same TV and Direct TV service for 10 years yet spent almost 2 HOURS with an idiot technician trying to get all the features to work on a new remote. Today I called DirecTV to make a payment using their IVR. Usually that self service isnt as user friendly as it should be. Nonetheless, I continued on to process my payment but some type of error occurred & I was routed to a representative. As I waited, I was hoping to not get someone from outside of the U.S. because despite their attempt to assist customers, the language barrier can make it challenging as I have experienced it in the past with other DirecTV technical issues. The IVR routed me to a pleasant representive named Dymond who stated she is part of the Elite Care Team - Chicago, IL. I was relieved to hear of this upon her introduction. I immediately thanked her for taking my call & for being within the states. I explained that in the past I had encountered some challenging calls with reps from other countries. She was quite a delight to speak to & she took extra steps to look into the issue at hand. Dymond expressed her sincerest apologies for the inconvenience & helped me resolve the error. She informed me she notated my account for the error in case I had to call back. Thank you Dymond for a great experience providing me with stellar customer service! I'm hoping to help others in the same boat. At first ATT was the only option available when I bought my home so I was stuck. I just found out yesterday that they gave me the wrong remotes 9 years ago! They worked ok but the tech told me that they don't work with new TVs. I called ATT (DirectTV) twice, they sent me a "new" remote to pair with my new TV. Turns out they sent my yet another old remote that didn't work. A technician came this weekend and gave me two new remotes and fixed everything in about 10 mins. Really ATT? How about not sending people out of date remotes?? And how about giving them the proper ones at installation? So irritating but kudos to the awesome tech. So, if you can't pair your remote, you likely need the new model. read more

I was with DirecTV for many years, all they did was try to raise my fee every chance they got. Things really went downhill when they were acquired by AT&T. When I just decided I have had enough, when my monthly bill hit $198, I called to cancel. Then I got a pathetic barrage of begging to stay with them and being put on hold many times. I told them clearly to cancel me, then they were not so nice anymore. Got a stern reading of what will happen if I don't return my antique equipment (that they would never upgrade for me even though they kept charging me more). Since I just paid my bill (for future service) they owed me the $198 refund which they force you to take a MC gift card (so they can make more money splitting the merchant fee for forcing the card on me) which will take up to 30 days to even get. And if you do not want the gift card, YOU must spend your time requesting a check that will take another 30 days! VERY unprofessional, GREEDY and UNAPPRECIATIVE of long time customers!! read more

Direct TV used to be so good, we've had them for 20 years. But, since AT&T, there have been issues. Recently, when we tried to get service set up in a home we purchased in Cameron Park, it became such a ridiculous comedy of errors, I couldn't believe it. I was on the phone for hours being sent from department to department. We finally got an install date and drove 3 hours to meet the tech (we're in the process of moving) during the stated timeframe. No show, no call. I called 3 times and finally someone came out 4 hours late and couldn't do anything because it was going to be dark soon. A senior executive representative called me directly and guaranteed me a credit on my service because they closed an account I had with AT&T TV before Direct TV bought them out. I am extremely happy with them & have no buffering or connection issues. Well AT&T showed up but, was just the TV tech, no internet. Called the work order dept, the best she could do was four days out. Still had the Xfinity equipment, so I called the ON THE XFINITY BILL. Ended up getting routed to the solution center, where some fast talking kid tried to sign me up for Comcast agin, this time a week out. I called DIRECTV to add the Major League Baseball package. I had received a promo offer and it stated it expired in a couple of weeks. The lady, couldn't understand her name, refused to honor the promo and stated the offer had already expired. I explained to her that I just received the email last week and gave her the expiration date, but she refused to honor the $10 off. Now, it's a matter of principle, being a 25+ year customer, I requested I speak to her supervisor or someone else that could help me. She refused, stating my supervisor cannot help you because they have the same screens we do, and asked me which department I would want to get transferred to. I told her, whichever one that could, because obviously you're no help. She continued to speak about the package I was cancelling and cancelled my movie packages. I was stemming! Luckily, the wife convinced me to call back and speak with another agent, and I did. Raymond, customer service rep, was able to help me and take the $10 off of the bill. I dropped DISH when they upped my cost without warning. Used antenna for several weeks, then got Direct TV. HATE it. The remote is useless, won't even light up unless you push a button. Can't feel the buttons, so can't use in the dark. Then local channels are iffy. Channel 10 reception is spotty, drops sound a lot. Now I've lost channel 40; and I never got channel 58--the most used local news station. I had more watchable channels on my antenna! I can honestly say this was the worst experience with a company I have had. First they completely had the physical address wrong and stated they couldn't change it then almost a year later I got them to change the physical to be the same as the billing. I had been with direct tv for several years moved and set it up at the new residence therefore going into a new contract. Calling the company when they switched to ATT was a nightmare I was on hold for no less than 20 to 30 mins than placed on hold more to get me to the right person and then they couldn't change everything I needed to change so I had to wait 24 hours and call back! I finally got so tired of them I cancelled with a month left in my contract and they said they were going to charge me 240.00 to cancel before my contract was up. Now this would have been acceptable if I would have cancelled early on in the contract but with less than a month left they could have prorated or just charged lads but instead they charged the whole amount! Bad Customer service, I have tried to return my old equipment since i upgraded and it's been almost 2 months now of me calling and chatting to get this finished and sent out, since they are trying to charge me for not returning the equipment. This is my experience with DIRECT TV/AT&T: ii called only to inquire about different tv and internet services both offered. The young man offered a deal and I thought why not sounded great. The one thing I relayed to this person was that I had no money in my account since I recently, (days earlier) had moved. He assured me that no monies would be billed until the 1st of January. Not 24 hours after installation of my tv service I get a notice from my bank stating I was overdrawn by almost $200.00! They emptied my already depleted checking account. When I FINALLY reached a supervisor, Cody was his name, he told me that there was nothing they could do about it, that I would also have to pay the overdraft fee. I expressed over and over again that I DID NOT HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE UNTIL THE 1ST OF THE MONTH and he reassured me over and over again, o payment until the 1st of January. The Direct TV technician split our eave with a giant screw over a year ago (4/2017) and they STILL haven't fixed it. They admitted doing it the day it happened and assured us they'd fix it. When I signed up for Direct TV the representative told me it was going to be a one year subscription. After the one year I called up and wanted another promotion and they said that they had none and that my bill was going to go up from $119 to $188 per month. I told them that I was going to cancel and they told me that it was a two year subscription and I was going to be charged a $278 cancellation fee. They lied to me and they would not work with me. Update: 4K box remains inconsistent and non operational when used in conjunction with an OLED TV. Had to escalate to the Office of the President for someone to try and help. Although we had to agree to disagree, DTV acknowledged an internal software issue with their equipment is causing display inconsistencies. I called DirecTV to have my remote control reprogrammed Because Actor the earthquake to day my remote fell on the floor and it's not working quite right. I've been a loyal customer with this service provider for a very long time. My bill is paid automatically every month. Why is it that I can't receive tech support without setting up a freaking passcode? Why can't They help me with my remote problem. They ask for you to verify your name, address phone number, serial number etc. Isn't that enough??? I think this is unacceptable to say the least. The crazy part is I have a fire stick, a Roku stick.
