I went to my grandmother's funeral and as I left I had a check tire light come up on my Tesla. I looked on the car screen and one of my tires was down to 25 PSI so I found Direct Tires on Yelp and local to me. As I drove up, Gevork greeted me and was so kind although they were so busy! Did I mention that it was raining cats and dogs outside? He asked me to wait but after a little while he asked if I can come back in an hour or so because they were busy and had lunch breaks to do. Of course I didn't mind at all. So he pumped some air in my tire so I can make it back and forth til I got back. An hour later I went back and greeted once again. They were still super busy but made sure to take my car next just like they had promised. It ended up I had a nail in my tire so they were able to patch it from the inside. The team there is big and they're all hustling! I was ready to checkout and helped by Raffi who was just as nice as Gevork. The pricing was also very reasonable and I could tell that they are honest people. I even offered to buy them all coffee since it was so wet and miserable but they kindly declined. My tire blew out yesterday and was looking for a great service place to replace my tire. I was recommended by my bro in law to direct tires. I shopped around a little and no other deals were better than here so I decided to take my car in. I talked to Rick and he was super nice, helpful and suggested some ideas. They were able to fix my flat right away and I was out of there so quick. I pulled in here because I heard something in my tire as I was driving my kid to baseball practice up at Brand Park in Glendale. It wasn't far and I hoped all I would need would be a patch. When I showed up on a busy Saturday afternoon, a technician met me almost immediately. He checked all my tires and while the first two were low, the fourth had the nail. In 29 minutes I was on my way home, only $30 lighter with my tire fixed. Also, without asking he filled up the other tires that had been low before I left as well! Professional, courteous and FAST! Late review...on 30 August 24, heading to San Diego, a piece of pipe flew off someone's truck on the 415 (near Glendale), hit my side wall, flat (photo). Long story short, called the tow to get a tire replaced...a Michelin Superport, not that it matters. The manager said he could put on two new tires for $100 apiece. Fair enough...I needed to get moving...paid cash, gtg. The crew worked quickly, removed the old tires, put the new ones on...appeared to balanced them, but when I got on the road, the right front had an unbalanced wobble between 50--60 mph (sign of an out-of-balance tire)...so, whoever did the mount and balance needs to get schooled or be better supervised. BLUF, you get what you pay for but it cost more time and money to get the tire rebalanced. We live and learn...the lesson to the consumer...verify the work these guys do...could've been a lot better...hope this helps this little shop improve. read more

The wheel is considered to be man's single-most ingenious invention; one that changed the world in 3500 BC and life since. Such a simple piece and yet wheels are mechanically apparent in most every machine. That being said, civilization as a whole certainly takes the wheel for granted; especially the wheels and tires on our cars. We tend to focus on all the other intricate parts that can go wrong but ignore the wheels and tires. Oh, you're saying that is just me? You DON'T ignore the tires? Okay, well EXCUSE ME. Both my regular mechanic and Valvoline (during an oil change) enlightened me that all four of my tires were quite thin/stripped and at the point of being a safety concern. Apparently, my car's propensity to skid was a direct result. I kept putting new tires off but I could no longer do so unless I wanted to kill myself or others on the road. In my defense, I'm not made of money and that is why I procrastinated and thus, my thin wallet meant I needed "new" used tires. The shop I had initially intended to patron did not have tires that fit my car which is the issue with used tires: you sometimes have to go to one shop for two tires and another for two more. The owner suggested three other shops that may have the four tires I need; one of which was Direct Tires. I was immediately impressed with Direct Tires the second the owner Raffi answered the phone. Raffi's countenance was the perfect ratio of friendly to professional with a calming effect that relieved me that everything was going to be okay; all while feeling like I met a new friend. He's pretty great! I was blessed by the Tire Gods because Raffi let me know that they currently had four tires in my size in wonderful shape and he would charge me $40/tire so $160 total for the job. That's all it took for me to be out the door and on my way to Direct Tires. Direct Tires is located in Glendale - the part of Glendale that is hardly Glendale and still pretty much Burbank near San Fernando/Western. Signage for Direct Tries is quite small and the entrance is easily missed so be on alert. Square footage-wise, Direct Tires is small but I was welcomed immediately by a mechanic. Unfortunately, he was sort of rude and quite unfriendly even though Raffi was expecting me and put my tires aside. Not sure of the name of this fella but I was worried. Luckily, out popped Raffi at the desk and I was at ease once more. Direct Tires doesn't have much of a waiting room and only provides a dirty love seat in the corner but I was told the job would be lightening fast at about 15 minutes so I sat down to twiddle my thumbs on my phone. Unfortunately, I don't think the Direct Tires staff realized there was a classy woman sitting in the love seat because they were walking about talking in a crass and disrespectful way about women. I realize this is THEIR turf and that is their locker room talk but they should make themselves aware of customers and be professional. It made me quite uncomfortable. The same goes for the guy (I think he was a friend of the shop's) who merely said "Where are you going? Can I have your number?" without even kindly asking my name first. Shakes my head. This is why women hate car mechanic shops. Complaints aside, the job WAS indeed done in 15 minutes. I was basically in and out of the shop and there were no price surprises being maintained at the quoted $160. The tires hardly look used and are in great shape and I haven't had any issues with them. My car noticeably drives better. Direct Tires is great at what it does: fast, great quality, and a wonderful owner and personality with Raffi. It just needs to work on its customer service (such as the dude who made me feel like shit when I arrived) and the unprofessional manner of the staff when women are around. Other than that; Direct Tires is indeed recommended for your tire needs when you need fast, affordable service because we all need to respect our wheels and tires a little bit more. read more

Just wanted to update regarding the consistency of service that I received from this place. I sadly had yet another tire just pop unexplainably on its own. Worst feeling hearing that sound and seeing the tire pressure go to zero in seconds and knowing it cannot be fixed! It's a very expensive 19" Pirelli run flat tire and they gave me a good deal again (well "good" considering what it'll cost everywhere else) but not good that I had to waste several hundred dollars for the second time in a month for no fault of my own.
