Went in for self serve and walked in and the gentleman walked from his grooming station to the front counter and looked at me didn't say a word the entire time I was there he said maybe a total of 3 words to me. I have been taking my dog here for maybe 4-5 times, she always comes back looking great, they are friendly and seem busy, but still can get me in within a few days of calling. The only negatives are that it is a bit messy/hairy there, it would be nice to see the hair/ mess not make it all the way to the front desk/ waiting area and they are a bout $10 more expensive from where we used to go before we moved. read more

I love this place, I have 2 goldens and there is a guy that cuts them every time I bring them in. Sometimes they are a mess from swimming in the pool a lot and when he is done with them they look fantastic. I have never had a problem there. TL;DR: Dirty place. Dirty tools. Rude, uncaring staff. A dog being groomed was left unattended on a table while in a neck harness. No thorough station/product explanation. No customer service. Read on for longer explanation.. ------ I have a large pit who is a big ol' scaredy-cat and I can't take her to a regular groomer, plus it also doesn't make sense to pay $40+ for a basic grooming package elsewhere since not much needs to be done to her. She also cannot stand getting a bath so it's difficult to keep her still and clean her up. Imagine how thrilled I was when I found out there's a self-service dog groomer near me! My husband and I took her right up there as soon as we found out. First impression when walking in is that the place is small and dirty. We told the receptionist that we had never been in before and weren't sure how everything works. She had us sign in and took us back to a grooming station. We stood in the station for a good minute before she even began to tell us what was in there. "There's the tub, there's the handles, obviously. This bottle is shampoo and this one is conditioner. There's also towels here for you when you're done," she said and walked away. Right away I was miffed for a few reasons. The shampoo and conditioner bottles were not labeled to tell you which was which or what product was inside of them that you are using on your dog, there was a (not helpful anyway) ramp we found that can be attached to the tub to help your animal get in, there was a large dryer that wasn't explained to us, there were aprons you could put on to avoid getting wet, and there were a myriad of other products on the shelf that weren't explained to us either (brushes, sprays, scrubbers, etc.). No direction at all for first time customers. Very off putting. We figured it all out and started doing our thing though. The temperature on the tub was difficult to control. Had to keep stopping to readjust the temp as it either kept getting too cold or too hot - no in between. After we finished washing her off we moved on to the blow dryer, which really was just a large vacuum type device. It was so loud that it scared the ever loving heck out of our girl and she wouldn't let us near her with it. So we had to just use the towels again and let her air dry the rest of the way. On to brushing her out and then we were done. There were a few different brushes to pick from, but each and every one of them was disgustingly dirty and covered in hair from the previous dogs who had used them. Gives the impression that they do not clean the stations down very well after each use. At this point I was pretty fed up myself and ready to go, as was my dog. Again, being first time customers, we weren't even sure how to leave the station when we were done. Were we required to clean it? Did we need to take care of anything before leaving? No one was around to ask, so I left it as was and went up to pay. At this point, the receptionist wasn't even at the desk and the male groomer had to go to the front desk to assist a different customer that walked in. This meant that he left the dog he was working on UNATTENDED on the grooming table, still wearing its neck harness. This is never, ever okay and a huge downfall for this place. The receptionist came back and told me my total ($16.50.. not great, not horrible). She took my money, gave me a receipt, and sent me on my way. Didn't bother to ask how the experience was, if I had any questions, if I was interested in any packages with them, etc. Plain and simple, the staff is negligent and uncaring. We are likely only to return because this was the best option we've had as far as bathing our dog goes. Will continue to search for other options though. read more

Just okay. We went back to our old groomer even though they are further away. The place looks like most pet groomers that have been well established but the mood was a turn off. It's the old story where it's the weekend and the younger employers obviously don't want to be there. Also, their product shelves were almost bare and should probably be removed if they aren't going to stock them. read more

I am beyond dissatisfied with this establishment! I have taken mg dogs here for grooming 4 times now. The first couple of times they did a decent job - nothing special but pretty decent for the price. The 3rd time I took the dogs here I told them to do a de-shed and a normal cut on my golden. They did an awful job .. leaving her hair extremely patchy everywhere and almost like a weird looking stuffed animal .. nothing like my Golden has ever looked at other groomers. I thought maybe it was just an off day for them and decided to give them another chance this week. I asked them to cut her hair just a little bit shorter this time because it was a little too long last time. When I picked her up I was horrified and I honestly thought I was picking up someone else's dog. They had completely shaved all of her hair off!!! The owner told me he had only gone down one clipper size ..but there is no possible way. They obviously were completely lazy and didn't want to do the De-shed and normal haircut and decided to completely shave her. She looks terrible! I'm so sad that this happened and honestly very angry! On top of it - the man who I assume owns the place has horrible customer service. I will NEVER go to this place again and do not recommend them. I am posting a picture of what my golden normally looks like - and how terrible she looks now. I'm sure it's going to take at least a month for her hair to grow back! read more

Went here this afternoon and the place is not at all what I expected. It was quite a bit run down.

We have been going here for about a year. Some cuts better than others but we aren't picky. Took our little guy last month and told them how we wanted him cut (short). They didn't listen at all, left it longer than they ever have and he needed another cut in a couple of weeks. His face and ears were so uneven that he looked silly. We tried to politely talk to them but the receptionist was rude. We left and tried to call, leaving a message for the owner twice, but never got a call back. Took him to Wiggles and Wags. They listened to us, suggested we look at some pictures to make sure they got it right, and they sure did! Refreshing! And they cost less!! read more

New to the area and drove by this place and was excited to see not far from home. Got home and emailed some questions but never got a response. Drove down here today to wash my dog and got here at noon. Website says open till 4pm. I asked if I could wash my dog but was told no. When I asked why not I was told they were closing. 1.5 stars. I gave DDD's "Self-Service Bathing" another try. Disappointed the first two visits; disappointed this one. The concept is interesting - they provide the setup and supplies; you wash your dog there and are able to keep your own house clean. You would think that a place devoted to cleaning (animals) would make keeping their facility clean a priority. Ironically, this doesn't seem to be the case. I went at 9am on a weekday, but the place was hairy, dusty, and grimy. The industrial tubs and the high-powered blow dryer are the best thing about DDD, but not nice enough to outweigh the negatives for me. Water pressure was good, but water temperature was TERRIBLE. I had no control over it, and spent over 1/3 of the time waiting for it to either warm up or cool down. The young woman working at the front apologized and said that they share water with other businesses in the mall. (Water heater too?) Other negatives were the shampoo, which was merely soapy water; towels were clean, but had hunks of matted hair from previous users; and the caucaphony of dogs barking (waiting to be groomed), which stressed out my dogs and me. The entire time (approximately 1 1/2 hours) we were there, we were treated to 2-3 dogs barking at at extremely loud volume. Can't say anything about their grooming services, but I'll probably be taking my dogs back to my regular groomer and use my own tub in between. read more

I have been coming to this place for 5 years. My dog is very finicky and crazy and Ellie the owner has such patience and care for him. She was also very kind to let me self wash my rescue dog, and she groomed him as needed with great care. Went for our first and last time on Monday. The front looks clean, but look closer, there is hair everywhere. We have short haired dogs and brought home hair from a long haired dog or twelve. The equipment is not in good repair, the water temperature was never consistent, the Shampoo and Conditioner were unlabeled, the grooming tables were rickety, the arm was very loose, The ramp for the dog to walk up on my sink damaged. I would have said something to the staff they disappeared after we were told which bays to use. She never even check in to see if we needed anything. Not customer doing basic customer service just lost them us as customers. read more

I really like this place. I brought my dog in for a nail trim, who is not very good with men. I was kind of nervous when the guy in the back came out to do the nails, but he ended up being very patient and kind with my dog (a pitbull) and she was very good with him. I was so surprised! Service is always fantastic here. My dog is really skiddish but Michele is so good with her and keeps her so calm. Karma has a really thick undercoat and she takes time to really brush & blow that out so we have less shedding. They really love animals and it shows. Took my dog in for the full service wash with an add on of brushing his teeth. When I picked him up my dog was still covered in goo, which they tried to tell me was drool, they told me my dog drools a lot which is just completely untrue, unless you have bacon he does not drool. They begrudgingly agreed to rinse it off. When I got home I noticed they had cut the fur on his tail, which is not part of what I authorized them to doI called and spoke to he owner who just kept telling me they hadn't cut his fur. He went from a big happy tail with a point on the end to a crushed looking tail with a blunt end. UPDATE: Took in a picture of my dogs new tail. The owner said the groomer denied cutting it but since she could see he had she apologized and gave us a refund. read more

This was the worst self dog wash ever. I am ashamed to say i went through with the wash. The ramps are more dangerous for the dogs than helpful, super skinny and steep. The bottom of the tub is grated so your dogs nails get caught and small paws would fall through. Under the crated tub you could see all kinds of other dog hair, so they dont clean it after each use. Find somewhere else to take your dog, even if you have to drive a bit. read more

I tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I have taken my dog there a total of 5 times. Let me tell you, the first few times were ok, however my experiences got worse every time. I have finally decided that I work to hard to pay for crappy attitudes and services. They charged my card double, my groomer never once said hello to me, or thanked me for being a loyal customer. My dog hates going there, and even my mom commented on how rude all of the staff was. There has been no consistency to the hair cuts, and last time my dog still had crap in her beard. I've used this place over the last couple of years for myself to wash my large short haired dog. I drive all the way from AJ to use their self wash simply for the high pressured dyers in order to get the under coat out. Today was my last attempt at being a loyal customer for them. I called before I left my house to ensure their closing time (5pm) and when I arrived at 4pm I was turned away from using their facilities. This isn't the first time this has happened. On my prior attempt, I went off their "wonderful" website information (which apparently is still incorrect) and was disappointed to see they weren't open at all that particular day. Also, your employee to top it off was rude when I mentioned both discrepancies. I also had brought a friend and her dog with us....so 2 customers will be lost. read more

This is the second time we've brought our dog to Dippity Do Dog and couldn't be happier with the experience. They are incredibly reasonably-priced, they're always really friendly and gentle with our dog (who, frankly, thinks he's dying every time he gets his nails trimmed), and very, very quick. We don't get a full groom, just a nail trim and a gland expression, so I can't speak for the wait time on that; however, for what we need done, we always get in within a few minutes of stepping in the door.
