Rigatoni Bolognese with added meatball. Comes with Garlic bread. Absolutely delicious!
    Kelly H.

First time visit did not disappoint. I got the rigatoni bolognese with an added meatball. It comes with garlic bread. Fast service, very clean establishment. Friendly greeting on arrival too. Wow, wow, wow is it good! Creamy, meaty sauce. Piping hot pasta cooked perfectly. The garlic bread crispy on the outside tender and buttery on the inside. This is a must visit and great value for the price paid. I love Dinos Grill and will be back.

    Italian Burger

Kinda strange little burger diner. Its been here a long time, so it is somewhat of a local fave. I've been here several years ago, but the food never really leaves a big imprint on me, so it was hard to write a review. Tried it a couple times more within this year, so lemme churn one out before it fades in my memory. Very classic diner lookin', checkerboard tile floors with white tables. Straight counter service where you order everything first, but the food does get brought out to your table. I've noticed a few times that old timers of the town like to hold little gatherings out in the parking lot where they showcase each other's vintage cars. I'm not into that sort of thing but I find good community value there. Now even though this is mostly a burger joint, they also do a lot of basic pasta dishes. But it is very suburban pasta dishes to me so it is just kinda meh. I'll elaborate a tad more in a bit. Lasagna ($13/4*) This was actually quite decent and a good slab of a portion. The layers are substantial and the proportioning of meat to sauce to cheese to pasta is very good. I'm not a fan when there is too much of any of those, we don't have that here. Came out super hot too but pretty sure they just microwave the portion as there were spots that seemed to have gotten too blasted, ya know kinda tough/hard spots. But nothing to get worried about. I did have to season it a bit at the table but I pretty much woof'd this down one chilly afternoon. Italian Burger ($16/3*) Again good portions, nothing will be skimpy here. This is a smallish cheeseburger in between garlic bread. No garnishments just burger and buttery garlic bread. And it is served with pasta in a basic meat/tomato sauce instead of fries. The burger part was alright, fresh burger served hot and melty. Not seasoned so again a little shaker action at the table. The garlic bread is quite rich and quite garlic-y which I applaud. But the bread to me is just to soft and squishy which made me go against most American breads as I grew up. Straight up grocery mass produced bread. The pasta part is a generous serving, I packed half for another meal. They use spaghetti and rigatoni together which you don't see often. The sauce is on the light side and very bland to me. Very little salt and couldn't really taste any herbage like oregano/basil. Even the tomato flavor is very muted. I think if you're an old timer with dietary restrictions then this may be your jam. But for me unfortunately left me hanging. They do serve a very unique soda from a local soda company so no Coke or Pepsi products here. I think it's from Alameda Soda Co and I found it delicious. I only drink sodas very rarely so I don't mind in indulging in a good quality soda occasionally. I tried sips of the rootbeer and the black cherry and both were solid. I bet they don't use high fructose corn syrup. So even though I didn't love it, I most certainly didn't hate it. If running errands in this part of town, I wouldn't rule out getting their lasagna again or maybe trying their mushroom burger.

Went over to Dino's in Newark. I ordered the California chicken sandwich, my mom ordered her grilled chicken salad. The food was great friendly people glad to see this types of restaurants are still around.

I enjoy this place when I want a plate of simple comfort food. It boasts a retro 50's vibe with bright reds and blacks. You order at the counter and they bring your food to the table. Service has been friendly every time I've gone. We love that they offer soda from a local company based in Oakland in their soda fountain. This time we got the California chicken sandwich and a cheeseburger. Both were tasty and served with very very hot crispy fries. I've also tried their fettuccini alfredo- it was creamy and comforting. I believe they make their own pasta. Prices are reasonable and good comes out quickly.

Was craving some Dino's yesterday and ordered to go. Dino's is a staple in Newark and has been serving this community for quite some time. The family that runs this business is friendly and is more like family to everyone. I ordered the fettuccini Athenian - chicken and veggies in a white sauce. The portion size was pretty big and can feed up to 2 people. It comes cooked to order so it's piping at hot. It served with a side of garlic bread to dip into the sauce. I enjoyed my food and enjoy this place every time i come and visit.

Location is near the Mirchi cafe on Fremont Blvd in the plaza right next to Wonderland smoke shop. There is plenty of parking. Staff was super nice and helped me open the stuck door that you have to pull really hard on to get in. The market is small but curated and I was drawn to the imported potato chips. I picked up a bag of Lay's Masala chips I haven't had since I was in Mumbai, excited to eat it with my sandwich. The sandwich took about 10 minutes to make and panini-press and smelled delicious. However, when I got home I immediately noticed the color and thought they had mistakenly used roast beef. I looked at some of the other reviews and their doordash image and I'm confused on what I got. The pastrami was missing the distinct reddish-pink color from brining and black bark from smoking, I'm not sure how it was prepped in-house but it tasted like roast beef. I did enjoy the blueberry jam and pepperoncini combo.

I walked into this deli today hungry and wanting something very simple: a turkey sandwich on whole wheat. Instead of being greeted by a person behind the counter, I was directed to a kiosk. The kiosk was surprisingly limited and frustrating to use. I could not find an option for a basic turkey sandwich without scrolling through a long list of pre-built combinations that did not work for me. There was no easy way to customize and no visible option to simply order something straightforward. What made it worse was the complete absence of human interaction. There was no opportunity to ask a question or clarify an order. It felt transactional in the worst way. I was not alone. The couple next to me also gave up and left without ordering. We all walked out without ever speaking to a single person. If you are going to replace staff with kiosks, at least make the system intuitive and flexible. Sometimes people just want a simple sandwich and a quick, human exchange. I ended up leaving hungry and disappointed..

I love all places that have a theme that sets them apart from other establishments. Especially ones that have names for their menu items that are jovial. There's ample seating and the place is fun inside, with comic books on the walls, toys displayed and bright colors everywhere it really gives a burst of dopamine when you come in. We were greeted initially by the gentleman at the counter. He was super friendly and asked if we had any questions. Idk bout yall but when we go somewhere and the person refers to you as "boss" you can kinda feel the vibe that you're gonna get good service. And it was exactly spot on. The dude helped us with questions we had and after ordering let us know he'd bring our food to us. We waited a couple mins and our food came out! Initially my first thought was "damn, they're not stingy with their portions here!" We opted for the Goku fries and a regular Deadpool sandwich. It being our first time we wanted to try different flavors. BRUH, that food smacked SO HARD! We slammed everything and kept saying, wow this is good. But don't think there are multiple locations...yet. Upon receiving my sandwiches, it was wrapped in a paper with their company logo, and from a quick glance it is super similar to the Jersey Mikes logo in terms of color, so it has a real familiar vibe. No hate just an observation. This used to be another restaurant (maybe even several) on the edge of an industrial zone/business park, but also not too far from several shopping strips. There's spacious seating inside, but in the later afternoon when I went, nobody was eating in. But quite a few take-out and third party pick-ups. I even saw a poster showcasing their catering aspect for common work lunches on the company dime. Good for them. Niles Canyon ($14.50/4*) I opted to up this to their combo meal which includes a bag of chips and a soda for another $5. So this was easily a $20 lunch meal without tipping yet. Pricey yes, but not because they are pricier than most, but that is just the going rate for eating a meal outside these days. $15 - $20 per person are common and anything under $15 is now considered cheap eats and getting harder to run into. This sandwich had slightly warmed up deli turkey that when stacked with the swiss cheese slices, kinda softened the cheese. It wasn't ooey gooey but the cheese wasn't firm and cold either. There was another layer of prosciutto as well which wasn't too noticeable but did add another dimension. I chose to go with the full produce choice, as I love the freshness of veggies to go with meat sandwiches. There was also a layer of fresh avo slices which lent a creamy richness to the bites. I tried one of their sliced breads to go for this sandwich, as I tried a sourdough roll for another sandwich that I got to-go for my work lunch the next day. That way I got to sample their bread offerings. Their sliced marbled rye bread is thick sliced, very soft and moist with a good bread chew. They use a good bread supplier for sure. On top of mayo and mustard which is common, they also put their Bomb Sauce which seems like a garlic-y spread of sorts. I can definitely smell it, but the taste isn't overly strong. I'd say super similar to Mr Pickles. Prosciutto Sandwich ($13/4*) This was an all-cold traditional sandwich. I took a couple of bites there to see how it was fresh from the counter, and I ate the rest the next day at work. I gotta say I liked it better the next day as all the flavors melded more together. Even tho the veggies get a bit mushier, I've always liked a well dressed salad sensation in sandwiches, kinda like a Muffeletta sandwich where it is refrigerated overnight, meant to be eaten the next day. Their prosciutto isn't the old school imported version, or at least I've never had one quite like it. I'm assuming a domestic version, even seemed more like cappicola to me as I sensed a tinge of fennel up in there. So pretty satisfied with my first visit. I'll definitely get sandwiches here again for work or day trip lunches. Pretty much on the same level as Togo's or Mr. Pickles, but just more local. With sandwich names as The Quarry Lakes, The Decoto and The Dumbarton, just pulls on my local lovin' heartstrings. Props.
