I've been having breakfast here 2-3 times a week for the past month or so. I have enjoyed the good food and the friendly service and the mom and pop charm. The food is cooked to order, so it gets a little slow when the place is full. There is a reason it gets full, it's a good place for breakfast. Thank you. read more

It was good. Not great, but still good. I had the corned beef hash and it was smashed like a thin burger. That is my go to when I first try a new breakfast place and have never had it that crispy fried. Not a fan. I had grits and a biscuit with a side of sausage gravy, and although O heard so much about the gravy, it tasted like canned to me. My partner had steak and eggs, and the steak was very good and well cooked as were both of our eggs. The service was good, and we were welcomed upon arrival. I just left this place. I wouldn't know how good the food is. When I walked in, I was greeted by a woman rolling her eyes and pursing her lips before ignoring me completely. I had heard good things about the food and friendly service so wanted to give them a try. After being ignored for another 3 to 4 minutes, I asked if I could order to go. Another eye roll and a rude "someone will be with you shortly" barked in my direction, I left, never to return. I will forgive a lot in terms of service. My boyfriend and I were eager to try this place as it serves Boars Head meat which usually means it'll be fairly legit, wrong. We came into the place 15 minutes before closing (to be clear, four tables were full and before closing means they weren't closed, but they were certainly bothered). The woman at the counter was straight up ugly to us, no less we ordered quick despite the gross service ('gross' being bolded and underlined), sat down and got our food fast. I had a ham sandwich, nothing special, boyfriend had chicken salad...both were just, mediocre: bread was too much, ham not enough, condiments either too much or too little, it just wasn't a decent sandwich and my expectations of a ham Sammie are pretty manageable seeing it's an easy order. When we went to pay our bill (let me say, we were finished before any of the other tables), the woman at the front was suddenly charming as we were respectful of the closing time and just needed a quick bite. It was bizarre, the sandwiches weren't good, in fact they were bad (if that wasn't clear) and the treatment was enough to discourage anyone....if you're going to close at a certain time, expect to stay open until that time - that's usually how businesses work. I don't eat Subway, but I may reconsider at this point. Needless to say, we won't go back. read more

This place is awesome. Not open for dinner but breakfast and lunch. We came to Okeechobee for a week and have eaten there just about every day. They have a lunch special with half a sandwich and 8 oz bowl of soup. They serve most sandwiches panini style. The Reuben is fantastic also the Tuna melt and the Chobee. Lobster Bisque is out of this world. The restaurant is spotless and the people are very friendly. Prices are fair and you get a ton of food. We will miss this place when we leave. read more
