Staff is great! Kind, patient and attentive. The locations ready for even a simple upgrade and better AC. They just now are extending hours since always closing at 2pm. Thats smart ! The food is just ok. Recipes need a boost, amount of food needs looked at in some dishes,chips are served in the smallest amount and crumbs. Ashamed to say being a Florida Native, I finally got to try out Mom's kitchen. It's crazy to think the food that comes out of that little trailer is so amazing. All of us had cinnamon rolls. I also had to try the pineapple orange drink, which was amazing. The service was good and friendly people. The cinnamon rolls came out so hot and smelled amazing. Mom's kitchen is making it work while they rebuild. Proud to support local business. One on Fort Myers Beach, check them out. I hear they have amazing biscuits and gravy. That's my next try. Lots of tables with umbrellas for shade and cozy actually just sitting out there and enjoying that Sweet gooey cinnamon roll. read more

My own mom and I went to eat at Moms! Food came out quickly and was super tasty! Best part was it was so cheap compared to most diners. The waitress was very friendly and you could tell there were a lot of ole timers there because she knew them when they walked in the door! A great place to go for some breakfast that feels like a home cooked meal! We were able to find seats quickly and had quick great service throughout our breakfast. Our waitress was very attentive too! Not very up to date but definitely a clean place. We really enjoyed our egg sandwich and veggie omelet with hash browns and biscuits. This was a local restaurant in Okeechobee. I had their catfish with a side of cheese grits, it was OK. When my meal was served it had a piece of hair in it ..I know sometimes that may happen so I did complain. My waitress was very nice though and had them fix the issue. I usually order their famous Daniel Burger but, was in the mood for fish in grits. There was really nothing special about my choice, I would not go back to eat here, simple home cooked meals that I can do at home and simply save my money. On another good note the coffee was very crisp and fresh. They do close at 2pm. Breakfast is served all day here as well. Maybe today was just a bad day. read more

The place is not very fancy but you do get a fresh home cooked meal and friendly hometown service. 1) Place was clean and welcoming. 2) Server and staff were very friendly and attentive. 3) Hot Dogs where good. Chili Dogs were much better. Overall I liked it and will consider returning when in the area and in the mood for some home cooking meals. There were several older men in the middle of the restaurant who were totally blocking the isles and wouldn't move so people could get around them. Asked for water and never got it. Not a fancy place, but a restaurant which actually cooks (unlike big names/bars who just heat up frozen packets and add some dressing/seasoning) the food they serve. For a person who eats out almost every day this is the place; economical and tasty. Definitely not too healthy or for the diet conscious and there's a lot of variety in the menu. Surprisingly the Mexican food here is better than any Mexican restaurant. My favorite is their chimichanga. My friend and I visited Mom's Kitchen around 10 AM, August 1, 2015, to try Mom's breakfast. My friend ordered an omelet, grits, and white toast with oleomargarine. I ordered two fried eggs over medium, a side order of bacon, and a half-order of French toast. The omelet was greasy, hard, and over-seasoned. Omelets should be light, fluffy, with a fresh egg flavor, not burdened with heavy grease and harsh seasonings. The toast was inedible, and although the grits were pretty good, my friend barely ate a third of them. His comments about the omelet were harsher than mine. The two eggs were well-cooked and tasty. I started on the bacon strips, since the French toast was late to the service. The bacon obviously had been fried in cooking grease that was close to rancid, a unwelcome flavor shared with the over-cooked omelet. The french toast was tender and hot. Alas, the only syrup available was room-temperature and came out of an unappetizing squeeze bottle. It would not have been that difficult to heat the syrup and present it in a small creamer sitting on a saucer. I also ordered coffee. The beverage may have had some minor contact with ground coffee beans, but that would be purely speculative on my part. Even though I have lived in Okeechobee for almost four years, Mom's Kitchen is not a restaurant I would revisit. The meal was unappetizing. The tab came to almost $16 for the two of us, plus a tip of 20%. The service was good. read more

It's one of those places that everything I've eaten has been good, but I do have favorites. Daniel burger is a great deal. All the triple decker (club sandwiches) are good. During the week they offer Mexican specials, we really like the taco salads and the chimichangas.
