Don't be put off by the look of the place, if you go down, its a jumbled kind of shop with furniture all over the place, but seriously, who cares, because I haven't had this easy a time with ANY kind of repair, ever. Lakeville Kitchen & Bath is for a while now part of RBC - Riverhead Building of Riverhead- the…read moreindependent family owned building supply store that has branched out all over the east end of the Island. Now RBS is merging with a 90 something year old kitchen dealer - that was for decades by the RR track on LI's south shore in Lindenhurst - They have a new space on the southern end of Rt 110 - Broadhollow Rd. Farmingdale. The showroom is new and spacious enough to properly display many lines they represent. Took plenty of photos to show examples. Best advice is do NOT get overwhelmed with kitchen jargon - like overlay.. inset .. painted.. Mid range, high end etc. There is no right or wrong. Showrooms let you get the look and feel of a kitchen and the inside of the cabinets.. how the drawers pull out... how they close. Etc Best thing is to pick a few that you like and ask for the price range and time to have delivered. I also usually ask where they are manufactured. Only a few places actually truly make cabinets on LI today - many claim to, but are really unpacking and or assembling.. and or painting. Lakeville is NOT manufacturing - they are representing the manufacturers as retailers - which means they need to sell enough to be authorized.. and so are familiar with the product. The salespeople know which ones are the best value, quality, time frame etc.. They have in house designers - that can help you plan the perfect layout. Think a few weeks ahead to not get disappointed if they have other people ahead of you for design work. We have been to Southold's RBC years back and were not wowed- then Riverhead itself and thought it a good showroom and excellent customer service... but this Lakeville division of RBC is their biggest showroom, and worth some time to compare cabinets. Much easier that just looking at door colors and a computer screen. Found lots of gorgeous displays and left inspired and closer to narrowing down the right choice.

Our first kitchen set was from them and I was short two chairs from the set I bought for a moving in party. David and his Dad went upstate to get me the two chairs so I would have them in time. I remember saying wow what great and I have never for got what they did for me. That was 22 years ago. My second set I bought from them had chairs and after a few years needed to be redone and David advised us to restuff the chairs and recover them. They came back looking like brand new. Was very happy. Unfortunately just under 2 years the leather on the seats started to crack and I called David and he said to bring in the chair. After seeing the chair David honored redoing them and recommended restuffing them so they would come out right. Since we had a problem as always price wise he did right by us and backed his product and they came out beautiful. I believe most other stores would not of helped us after that time period and turned us away. I would highly recommend David and Dinette and Lighting to anyone. Most guys would wave it off saying to their significant other, "whatever" you choose is good. Not me. I have a vision in my head what my dining room set should look like, how I spend the next 30 years at this dining room table and chairs is something I take seriously. Enter Classic Galleries in Huntington Village. This place actually taught me how to buy cars as well a detailed negotiations after being burned here. The late 90s, my wife were driving all over Rt110 and looking for a classic dining room set. I don't want a "square" table. I'm looking for something French Country, woods that are dark but not too dark. Are you feeling me Yelper? We go to lunch in Huntington Village. I had plans to stop in Classic Galleries after shopping all of the other traditional stores. Sure enough, we find the exact table I had in my mind. Two young parents who are decorating their house and are buying a pretty expensive piece of furniture. All the tables we looked at had 6 chairs. I ask the floor person, "Does this table come with 6 chairs"? Oh yes we're told. We give our deposit and place the order. We go to our parents and tell them about the new table, we're so excited. Yippie! The furniture takes about 2-3 months to ship to the USA. I noticed on the invoice there are no chair quantities. I call up and ask how the shipping is coming along and more importantly, there are no chair quantities on the invoice. Oh, there are 4 chairs shipping along with your table. WHAT! Yes, your order was place with the standard 4 chairs. If you'd like 2 more chairs you'll need to spend "x" amount and with the shipping it will cost "y". (Y=very expensive and raised the price point to where I did not what to be) And that folks is some sneaky BS to get a sale. I ask to cancel the order immediately. Oh and we're keeping $500 of my deposit. Have a nice day. Have a nice day?? Our little hearts were crushed. A $500 dollar loss was a hard lesson to learn. If I was shopping today, I wouldn't consider this place. Who the heck wants to spend an exorbitant amount of money on furniture at a gallery where today you can by direct from a southern furniture manufacture? Where there is no 3 month wait period? I've lived, I learned and more importantly, I've been burned. If your a sales person at Classic Galleries and did this shady deal to two young kids? Shame on you
