Dear Marisa, I want to thank you so much for all your help. My husband and I moved to the area less than a year ago. We were interested in replacing the inside of the cushions on our custom sectional couch. My husband did some research on the Internet and found CLS Custom Upholstery. As sometimes happens we didn't act right away but kept the information on hand to do so in the very near future. Two weeks ago my husband needed to go in for spine surgery. Upon arriving home he was in tremendous discomfort and couldn't get comfortable anywhere but in bed, due to the wear and tear on our couch cushions. Knowing that his recovery would take a while I was trying to make him comfortable on the couch for a change of scenery. I called CLS and asked what the process would be to get the inserts of the cushions replaced. I was told to bring down the cushions and they would be able to help me. I arrived at CLS at 940am on a Friday morning with 15 cushions. Marisa was extremely kind and compassionate to my husbands situation and she said she would try to get the project done as soon as possible. Her knowledge and professionalism were so amazing. Being that it was Friday I assumed Monday would be the earliest I would receive a call. Saturday morning at 915am I received a call from Marisa that the cushions were ready. Less than 24 hours and the job was done!!! I returned to CLS to pick up the cushions. I had the opportunity to meet Ray and Mike Catalano. Ray was kind enough to help me load the cushions into the car, and that was a challenge being that there were 15 large cushions. His main concern was that I would be able to see out the rear window so I would arrive home safely. I also spoke with Mike Catalano while completing the payment and paperwork. It was so refreshing to work with a family owned business. Everyone at CLS cares tremendously about the customer service they provide. I would highly recommend them to friends, family and strangers. I have long believed that the quality of furniture available in today's market does not compare to that of past generations. So when family members no longer wanted pieces of furniture that appeared to be past their prime (bedroom set, camel-back sofa, several chairs, etc.) from the early to mid 1900's, I took them. I finally decided to have the pieces refinished, restored and reupholstered as part of a larger renovation project. I contact CLS. Ray evaluated the pieces and provided recommendations. Some items he indicated were not worth the investment to repair. The quote was not inexpensive but I had received CLS as a referral and anticipated this. I also knew that they did quality work. CLS made the process easy. They picked up all of the furniture, treating it with care. There was no pressure from them to rush through the job. I made several visits to their showroom/shop first meeting with the team who stripped off the old stain on several pieces so that I could evaluate different options of stain colors and choose how I wanted them refinished. I also re-purposed an original TV cabinet from the 1940's into a liquor/wine cabinet and collaborated with the craftsman to rebuild the interior. I met with Marisa who pulled every fabric book in the showroom until I found several combination options to reupholster my sofa and chairs. They were very patient, allowing me to take the books home, evaluate how it would blend with the larger renovation. When it was completed, they delivered the pieces back to me with the utmost care. ALL of the pieces came out EXTRAORDINARY. The furniture was transformed and brought back to life while maintaining all of the original inlaid wood and hardware. The wood was revived to its rich color and the hardware was shinny again. The sofa and chairs were transformed bringing together the design and feel of traditional furniture with with a transitional updated feel through the upholstery. CLS had made living room curtains for us. I was not happy with the way the pleats fell. The pleating opened and the curtains billowed out. They also did not meet in the middle. (They hung on a traverse rod). I contacted Marisa, our decorator, who was in touch with, Charlie, our installer. He came and took the curtains back to the shop - actually, several times. He would come to our home to rehang them after having worked on them in the shop and would bring them back to the shop again and again. They never experienced this problem before and wanted to be sure we were happy. Marisa had been in touch with me several times and contacted Charlie. Charlie is meticulous about his work and he was not happy either. I spoke to Marisa, who in turn, spoke to her boss. Mr. Catalano called me because none of them seemed pleased with the curtains and he apologized for the problem we were experiencing. They had never encountered this problem before. Mr. Catalano told me to select another fabric and they would make new curtains for us. So, Marisa came back, I selected another fabric and we did just that. Charlie hung the curtains and they look beautiful. We are thrilled with our new curtains. They look fabulous and we have received several compliments. I have used CLS in the past and never had a problem. They are true professionals - caring and courteous. It was a pleasure working with all of them. My husband and I found an ad for CLS Upholsterers in a local circular and decided to call. We have a dining room set that my parents purchased in 1962 and I don't want to get rid of it. The chair backs were in really bad condition and I wanted the cushions replaced too. We gave them a call and Ray came to our home to look at the set. He was very nice and personable. He took our chairs and I thought his pricing was a little expensive. We went out to their warehouse to pick out the fabric and sign off on the color and construction of the first chair that was completed. I saw the work being done was worth every penny. One week after that, they were ready to deliver my chairs. When they arrived, I was ecstatic on how they looked. I loved the reconstruction of the chairs. And the cushions and fabric were perfect. The workmanship was amazing. I couldn't tell which chair backs were replaced. They all looked brand new. I already called Ray and company to say thank you and to make arrangements for them to come and get my dining room breakfront. We highly recommend CLS. Some years ago we had them reupholster a couch, love seat, two swivel rockers and an ottoman. We've had this furniture for decades and decided to go with the reupholstering rather than buying new pieces because "they just don't make furniture like they used to". We were so glad we chose CLS because they are true artisans. This year we decided to give the rockers and ottoman a fresh new look and contacted CLS again. Their staff was patient with us as we looked through the many fabric samples and they arranged for manufacturers to mail samples to us so we could take our time to make the correct choice. There was never any sales pressure. We were concerned about the time it would take to complete the job as we had a family event scheduled in our home and we needed the furniture back. My personal experience with CLS is that their customer service and craftsmanship is top notch. When my wife and I got married 25 years ago we received from my wife's mother, who recently passed away, a Thomasville couch and loveseat. Unknown to us, my sons cat got into our living room on several occasions and by the time we noticed both were ruined. My wife was quite upset. Fortunately we found CLS who was able to strip both down to their frames and completely rebuild both to like new condition. This is the part where their customer service impressed beyond measure. Our Newfoundland dog with muddy paws got into the room the day after the ill fated couch and love seat were delivered. My wife tried to clean it not realizing the fabric was dry clean only. We called Mike at CLS for help. They came and redid the damaged portions at no cost. I was floored. Since then CLS has worked on several of our Ethan Allen pieces and some family heirloom antique furniture. CLS is my go to for furniture repair and restoration. CLS- what an awesome service! When my grandmother passed I couldn't think about getting rid of her furniture. So I took a trip down to Cls and my journey started. Marisa greeted me and we started out looking at fabrics. I ihad no idea where to start. She asked me a few questions and thats all she needed. I have had a sofa bed with a wooden frame that was over 30 years old. I also have 6 dining room chairs, part of a set. They are 55 years old. They were all in need of help. I have heard so many great reviews about CLS in Bohemia, NY. I gave them a call. They came over with samples, made suggestions and we agreed to have the work done. I did receive a call from the finishing department asking if I wanted the same color for the wooden part of the chairs. The day came when all was ready to be delivered. When they returned my furniture, I did not think it was mine. It was like brand new, from the showroom. The delivery men were extremely careful and made sure all was in its proper place. We loved our 23 year old Ikea couch but the fabric had become worn out and torn. I contacted CLS and an appointment was set. On the appointed day, Ray arrived promptly. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He assessed my couch and showed me some fabrics that would complement my furnishings. My couch was taken away, then returned about 5 weeks later, looking as though it came from a luxurious furniture store. Ray and the crew at CLS did a magnificent job! We bought custom furniture from them many years ago. Was greeted by the owners and treated like family. We were shown a tour of the facility, met the workers that would make my furniture, and observed them making other items. I have had my furniture repaired and cleaned twice (most recently for Xmas 2017) over the years and the results are spectacular. CLS just completed a full reupholstery on a Queen Anne Chair near 100 years old. it is brand new! Also I had them reupholster a 25 year old sleeper sofa. This is the third time I've had my 1946 sofa upholstered and I'm so pleased with the outcome! Also had an antique slipper chair reupholstered. Beautiful work, great service.
