On one of my last TIFF mornings, I felt like treating myself to a fancy coffee. I'd passed this location of Dunedin Coffee Co. several times, so I figured I'd finally pop in.
After perusing the simple menu, I decided to go for a large Vanilla Latte and I also got a Canele for a small breakfast. The coffee was ready to go a few minutes later, so I grabbed a seat and began sipping.
It's a terrific coffee. The balance of flavors is right on point, and I really appreciated the subtleness of the vanilla. I think this might be one of the best, most satisfying lattes I've ever had, actually.
The Canele, on the other hand, didn't fare as well. It tasted like it had been baked days ago and left in a fridge; it didn't have that crisp or caramelization one associated with this treat, and instead was soggy and overly sweet from top to bottom. It's probably the worst Canele I've ever had.
But still, that coffee. I'll definitely be returning to grab that Vanilla Latte again. read more
