Food is always so delicious here! I always look forward to the coffee and dessert at the end to, so yummy!

I did not enjoy the food at this location. When I went to buffet and grabbed my usual items. The gyro meat was hard. And barely at room temperature. The beef kabob had only one kabob and it looked very pink from exterior. Waited around before some more were brought. They too had the same color and texture. Not appetizing at all. The forks were all missing and weren't replenished. Finally after 7/8 mins, one of the workers brought a whole cart of forks and other utensils to restock The chicken i get wasn't good either. It too was lacking the rich vibrant yellow coloring. The hummus and salad were fine. Baba was aight too. I won't be coming back at this or the SL location anymore.

Excellent food. Very clean place. Service was fast and friendly. I love the rice and eggplants here. I will be back.

    Good option for quick food

Affordable, best to keep fast for 3 days before coming , Food was good , weekend is a-bit expensive,

Food poisoning. I go here a lot and the last time we had a beef dish and my family got very sick. I had to miss work because I was nauseous and threw up. My wife got sick also! And she had exact same symptoms. Too bad.

    Lamb shank

The food was fresh and everything advertised on the buffet was there. Be sure to check out the lamb shank! You have to order it from a worker, but it is buttery tender and really hits the spot for meat lovers. On top of all of that, the servers were nice and friendly. We're definitely coming back again!

I am very underwhelmed by this location. I was so excited to visit because the Austin, TX, location is so good. I arrived at 2 p.m. The line was stocked nicely, minus a few items. No big deal. However, the items they had available were not great. They were not fresh at all. I don't know if their steam tables struggle to keep items hot, but my selections were, at best, warm. The biggest disappointment was the Baba Ganoush. This is not the same recipe they use at other locations. It was absolutely inedible. I've never experienced this kind of disappointment at any of their other locations.

Truly just otherworldly so good. Chick pea salad and pita bread were the highlight. 10/10 so yummy

I've been to my fair share of Dimassi's throughout the city and I can't think of more massive location than this one on Westheimer. Despite the recent facelift, other locations feel newer and less dated, but this place has more parking, seating, and food options than all of them. (#1) Unlike the sister spots that are part of a strip mall, this one stands alone in its own building with limited outdoor seating. It was also a unique space since they had a waterway for decor, but was patched up and filled out sometime last year when they redid the sign. The place is so huge that I've never really seen it full, even during their busiest days on the weekend. Anyone can show up with a group of 40 and I'm willing to bet everyone will fit. The long buffet line makes me feel like this was a cafeteria at some point. The salad options are vast everything from kale caesars to pasta salads to broccoli with cranberries. They have an extensive amount of hot foods, breads (along with pizza), and the standard Middle Eastern dessert options with soft serve. There are some Dimassi's that will have some of these elements, but rarely a place that has all of them. I have had good results with the chicken shawarma here as well as their kofte. The salt and pepper cauliflower is always a hit and the creamy hummus options (avocado, spicy, regular) are tasty. I am really enamored with their lentils and rice, extremely crispy falafels, the lamb gyro slices are easy go-tos. I also think highly of their baba ganoush, tzatziki, and freshly baked warm bread. They also tend to go heavier with the spices on their foods than other locations. It's not all roses though, the baked chicken and steamed fish are a little bland and the pizzas are not really flavorful. I also think the lamb shank can be both gamey and funky at times. The famous Dimassi's pasta is also kind of a watery mess, where it falls apart even before it gets on my fork. They also offer 10% off with a Yelp check-in. They've been generous overall with the service and I've always enjoyed coming here for a lunch meeting, a quick dinner or an all out gluttonous (#2) feast. __________ (#1) Until proven otherwise. (#2) But semi-healthy

Established back in 1977, this Greek café has grown from a humble walk‑up window into a full‑fledged neighborhood institution, beloved for its hearty Mediterranean comfort food and lively, come‑as‑you‑are atmosphere. The Montrose location stays bustling from lunch through late night, drawing in everyone from families to night‑owls to longtime regulars who've been coming here for decades. What keeps people returning is simple: the food hits. Diners consistently praise the authentic Greek flavors, especially the gyro plates -- a blend of beef and lamb shaved from the spit, tucked into warm, fresh pita, and finished with cool, garlicky tzatziki. Portions are generous without being sloppy, and the pricing stays reasonable, making it one of the best value spots in the neighborhood. Your gyro arrives stacked, your fries come hot, and your plate feels like it was built by someone who actually wants you to leave full. The menu is huge, but the classics shine brightest. The Greek salad is crisp and refreshing, loaded with feta, olives, tomatoes, and their famous dressing. Service here is fast, friendly, and efficient -- the kind of counter‑style operation where the staff keeps things moving without losing the warmth that makes the place feel welcoming. Guests frequently mention how upbeat and helpful the team is, even during rush hours. The vibe is lively but never chaotic: families grabbing dinner, couples sharing mezze plates, and regulars chatting with staff like old friends. It's casual, energetic, and unmistakably Montrose. One thing that sets Niko Niko's apart is its deep Houston history. The Fetokakis family has run the restaurant for nearly half a century, maintaining a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality that helped the café earn multiple Houston Press awards over the years -- from Best Pork Chops to Best Family‑Owned Restaurant. Even as the city has changed around it, Niko Niko's has stayed true to its roots: hearty food, Greek hospitality, and a community‑driven spirit. Whether you're grabbing a quick gyro, sitting down for a full spread, or stopping by for dessert after a night out, Niko Niko's delivers exactly what a neighborhood staple should: great food, great value, and a welcoming atmosphere. The flavors are bold, the portions are generous, and the experience feels like Houston -- diverse, warm, and full of character. If you're in Montrose and craving Greek comfort done right, this spot remains one of the city's most reliable pleasures.

The lamb kebab skewers were so delicious, well-seasoned, juicy, not gamy and had that charcoal / charbroiled aroma to them, which all kabobs are really supposed to have like TX Bbq is to smokiness taste. The rice was really fresh like the meat in its own right with a buttery flavor to it. The salad was tangy and refreshing. Some other Turkish restaurants might make some dishes good, but never execute the lamb adana entree right, due to heat source n lack of seasoning.
