I'm always happy to discover a good restaurant recommendation, and this one definitely did not disappoint. They had someone out front handing out samples of their Jollof rice, curry sauce, and stewed plantains, which were part of their Golden Bowl. I'm not a big plantain person, so I initially asked for mine without them. But, I decided to give them a try anyway, both with and without them. I'm glad I did because the plantains actually added a really nice balance to the dish. The combination of the rice, curry, and plantains was mostly savory with just a hint of sweetness. Hands down, this was my favorite dish. I also have to give a shout out to the woman out front handling the samples. I spoke with her the most, and she did a really good job of selling the restaurant. She was welcoming, knowledgeable, and made the entire experience enjoyable. Sometimes it's the little things, like someone taking the time to introduce you to the food and make recommendations, that can really make a difference. All in all, ChopNBlok was a great find, and I'm glad my friend recommended it. I don't live in the area, but if I ever find myself back there, I would definitely return for the Golden Bowl. It's always nice when you discover a dish that makes you want to come back for more!

We stumbled upon this place and boy am I glad we did because the food was absolutely divine! I had the garnished tilapia with jollof rice and vegetables. Not sure what vegetables I was eating perhaps spinach but they were cooked to perfection. Bae had the garnished goat meat which was so tender and I appreciate the bite sized cuts instead of the chunky portions. I low key wished I had gotten the goat. We ended up getting a side of jollof rice because the goat meat plate did not come with any sides. I will definitely be back if I am on that side of town again. The four stars are because I wish they adjusted the spice levels. I like my food spicy and Bae who is Yoruba's spice level is not for this world! so the food wasn't as spicy to both of us as we would've liked. Service was a little bit slow, but I think it's because they do make the food fresh. Nice clean restaurant great customer service and cannot wait to be back next time I'm in humble

Whether…read moreyou're dining in or grabbing takeout, it's a great place to enjoy authentic and flavorful dishes. They have a comfortable seating area for those who want to eat on-site, but their food travels well, making takeout just as enjoyable. While I often stop in specifically for the suya, both the beef and goat options are excellent, the menu offers much more than that. My personal favorites are the Suya, Jollof Rice, and Meat Pies, all of which are consistently delicious and packed with flavor. Their Rice and Stew is another standout dish that never disappoints. What I appreciate most is the variety. Aria Suya Kitchen offers a wide selection of Nigerian favorites, making it a great introduction for newcomers and a reliable choice for those already familiar with the cuisine. If you're looking for authentic Nigerian food with great flavor and plenty of options, Aria Suya Kitchen is definitely worth a visit. It's the kind of place that keeps you coming back for more.

I shared the fufu with egusi soup with stewed goat added, the Stewed Hen, Moin Moin, & Jollof Rice, and the meat pie with a friend and it was plenty for both of us. The fufu with egusi soup was super delicious with a spicy kick that I loved (7/10) . The plate was the star of the meal. Everything from the stewed hen, to the rice, to the greens were all so well seasoned and I truly enjoyed every bite (8.5/10). The meat pie was also delicious with a savory filling and the pastry was thick and buttery but surprisingly not overbearing considering the pastry to filling ratio (8/10). Overall the food was awesome and seemed quite authentic. Would definitely come back to support this small local business!

When I woke up this morning and checked DoorDash it said that the order was picked up at 7:37pm and my card was charged $60, which is honestly too much for 2 soups and 2 appetizers. Also on top of that the location was sketchy, had no visible signage, and was dirty. Would not recommend this place at all if I could give negative stars I would.

I am not very experienced with African…read morecuisine outside of South African restaurants and a few Ethiopian-style places, so this was a very new experience for me. Overall, I found the food to be very flavorful, well seasoned, and unique. My daughter and I actually ended up liking each other's meals more than our own, so we switched plates, which worked out well. We also ordered a few extra items, including wings and yams. The pounded yam was interesting and very different from anything I usually eat. It is probably not something I would go out of my way to order again, but I am glad I tried it and now understand a little better how it is eaten. The one disappointing part of the visit was the ordering experience. The young man who rang us up was polite, but he was unable to make any recommendations. He said he had been working there for about three months and still could not really suggest what to order. For someone like me, who is unfamiliar with this type of food, recommendations would have been very helpful. I would have appreciated some guidance on the most popular dishes, common choices, or what first-time customers usually enjoy. That said, the owner was extremely kind. She came out to our table, spoke with us, and helped explain how to eat some of the food we had ordered. I really appreciated that. She came across as a very sweet person, and based on her hospitality alone, I would come back to support the business. This style of food may not personally be my cup of tea or something I will crave often, but I respect the flavor, the care, and the local business behind it. I would give Bantu House four stars. It could have been closer to 3.5 for me personally, mostly because of the lack of ordering guidance, but the owner's kindness and the quality of the food pushed it to four.

We arrived around 9:17-9:20 PM and waited until approximately 9:35 PM before being attended to. When someone finally approached us, we were initially told we couldn't be served, but they eventually agreed to accommodate us. Unfortunately, the interaction while placing our order wasn't very welcoming. The employee seemed irritated and inconvenienced by having to take our order and answer a few basic questions about the menu. As someone trying a different cuisine and wanting to understand what I was ordering, I would've appreciated a little more patience and hospitality. I eventually felt the need to explain myself, and after a few exchanges, her attitude softened and she became friendlier, which I appreciated. However, it shouldn't take that much effort for a customer to feel welcomed. For our meals, I ordered the extra-spicy egusi with goat meat and pounded yam. My daughter had the chicken with jollof rice and plantains, and my friend ordered egusi with beef and pounded yam. The food was genuinely good, and I enjoyed the flavors. My only complaint regarding the food was the temperature. Everything arrived lukewarm rather than freshly hot, and it gave the impression that the plates had been sitting for a while before being brought out. I would've enjoyed the meal much more if it had been served hot. What really made the experience uncomfortable was what happened while we were eating. The employees began arguing among themselves, creating an unprofessional atmosphere in the dining area. I had my seven-year-old daughter with me, and that's simply not the kind of environment I expect when taking my family out to eat. I also noticed several other customers waiting for their orders, and overall, there seemed to be a lack of attentiveness and organization. I understand that restaurants get busy, especially toward closing, and I appreciate that they ultimately accommodated us. However, good food should be accompanied by good service and a welcoming atmosphere. I would consider giving Taste of Nigeria another chance because I did enjoy the food, but I sincerely hope the customer service, communication, and overall professionalism improve. The food has potential to make this a great experience, but unfortunately, the service overshadowed it this time.
