This is one of my to go buffet places when I'm in a Mediterranean mood. They have a good selection, they keep the line full and fresh and although they have increased their lunch menu prices, it's still a decent deal, considering they include soft drinks and limited desserts. Nothing fancy inside, so don't expect it, but they keep the place clean and neat, and enough space for a big group if you have one. One of our first meals in our new town and it did not disappoint. This Dimassi's location is fairly new and pretty spacious. Their buffet had a really good spread and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I tried the plain hummus, which they offer in three variations (plain, avocado and spicy), and it was pretty good. The falafel, gyro meat, stuffed grape leaves, roasted cauliflower and stewed beef were great as well. I saw they had rose water, so I had to try it of course. The flavor was good, but it was way too sweet for my taste. I'd skip it, unless you're into that. For dessert we tried their rice pudding (one of my favorites) but sadly, the rice was way over-cooked. Overall, it was a really good meal. It was very filling, so no one in the group went for a second round. I'm sure we'll be back! read more

1st and last visit. Will never eat at dimassis again. I attempted to eat here last week and it was the biggest mistake of my life. Not only was the food old and against health code (cold chicken kabob meat, chicken thighs that have turned petrified from being there for so long and raw chicken legs in the stew) they also mix new product into old product into all of their dishes which is a big no no in health safety. I watched an employee pour the wrong new product into a old product and laughed saying oh well then stirring the two separate items together. That is also a big no. Cross contamination. I informed the front lady, she said oops and disregarded it. Super expensive for gross food. My wife and child both got food poisoning from the raw chicken legs. 0/10 read more

I placed an order to go, and it was ready when I arrived to pick it up 10 minutes later, as they stated it would be. This is my first time to try this place. My food was good! Maybe I have found my new place to go! However, there was one thing that bothered me. When I opened the box with my steamed rice, it was not full. Every place that I have ever picked up Chinese food, the box of rice has always been full. This one was only about 3/4 full. If I were ordering an extra order of rice, I would not be happy paying for it and not getting a full container. read more

My first time to the Mediterranean buffet. I loved it. I see some negative reviews, but from my viewpoint, it was great. Safety : it is critically important to keep customer and people who work in the restaurant safe. They take necessary measures such as using mask and gloves (disposable). Also we need to use new plate, cup all the time when we go another round. Also, not too crowded and customers were also wearing masks, which is good. Food : Splendid. I like veggies and Mediterranean food is famous for variety of veggies. Hummus, soir veggies flavored with vinegar, stewed cauliflower etc. For protein, Gyro, chicken, beef, fish etc. I don't feel their fish was eye-catching, since it looks like fried etc and didn't feel it was fresh. Would not recommend this location. Horrible seating, they have all tables lined up like a cafeteria style seating and it's hard to move around. The table are so lopsided and unstable that people behind us their drinks slide down and fell on them. Food is good but they created an irritating atmosphere. Can't ever go wrong with this place! Their rose water is a hit! Sometimes the carbonated drinks are just too sweet, or the Texas sweet teas have just too much sugar, so their rose water is the perfect alternative. They also have a tamarind water which I have not tried yet. I will have to go back and try it soon. Their buffet selection has so many options starting from a Romaine lettuce salad, a fatoush salad cucumber, tomato, radish, mint, salad made with olive and lemon juice, a tabouli salad, a mixed green salad with onion and mushroom, and an arugula salad. They also have a pinto bean salad, a garbanzo bean salad and a pasta salad. A lot of salad options! Exactly up my alley! For appetizers options they have grape leaves filled with rice and herbs, a flat round pizza, zatar and falafel. Dimassi's also makes fresh pita bread in house! Definitely a must get when you come to this place. Nothing like fresh bread made in house! They also have lentil soup and a chicken noodle soup which is absolutely outstanding! They have delicious dipping sauce section with baba ghanouge, a spicy pepper hummus, an avocado hummus as well as traditional hummus. They also have garlic sauce and a cucumber mint yogurt sauce. They have various rice and mixed options such as beef, veggies and herbs. They have chicken kabob, beef kabob, lamb shank, baked fish, gyro and many others. Not to mention their fruit and dessert options. I hope to go back soon and try all the food I was not able to get because I got full! Be sure to try to Baklava also! Update: I used to love this Dimassi's, but recent experiences have turned me away. After being served ubiquitously lukewarm/cold entrees, raw chicken and generally disappointing flavors compared to other locations, I've felt the need to change my rating to reflect to others the standard of service I've been experiencing. If you want to know what it used to be like, or what you can expect from certain other locations, such as the one on SH 121, read below. A local favorite for its halal buffet, and a long time institution both in this area of DFW and other parts of Texas, Dimassi's as a whole has been a family favorite due to its reliability and consistent quality. The staff are minimally involved, as it's a self-service buffet with payment taken care of at the end, however when it comes to cleanliness and replenishment, they make themselves known by ironically not being noticeable. Typically you won't find yourself waiting for a dish to be filled (save for the last 30-45 minutes before close) and used plates and tables are cleared away promptly. You likely won't find yourself thinking about an employee's shortcomings, which is optimal. As for the food, certainly the main attraction of any buffet, they offer a wide variety of Mediterranean and mixed culture dishes to satisfy your appetite. From start to finish, they offer salads, condiments, appetizers, soups, rices, vegetable dishes, fried/roasted items and finally meat based items. They all offer distinct flavors, and the only problem I've consistently experienced has been less than warm items. Not so uncommon during slow times and rushes both, however it comes hand in hand when you have one connected buffet containing so many items. Overall, you're getting your money's worth and usually a little more here. Putting this all together, you have a long-running buffet serving halal food that has earned its keep in the community. This is about the worst meal I have ever had at a Dimassi restaurant in Austin, San Antonio, the Woodlands, and Houston. The Gero meat was chalky, and, cut off in very large sections, thick and hard as a rock. The chicken was cold, and had been sitting on the warming tables for quite a while. When asked if my meal was OK and I said that it was not, I was told it was closing time at 7:15 PM, Mind you closing time is actually 9 PM. I will not be returning. read more

Restaurant was clean looking and food displayed attractively, however that where it stops. The edible items were lentil soup, rice, babakanush , and hummus. The remaining items were either overly spiced, extremely salty or over sweet. Great food, great price! I first came to Dimassi's with a friend for my birthday lunch. The selection of food was incredible, authentic and tasty. It was so good I recently ordered delivery, I declined the rice and they added extra vegetables without asking. Not knowing they would add more I ordered additional vegetables. I wanted an order of falafel but the delivery menu only had a falafel plate. I mentioned my desire for a side of falafel and found two lovely falafel tucked in the with vegetables. First time here, it was good! Went around 2pm for a late lunch. The restaurant is big, I felt safe with social distancing since they have a lot of seating. We've been wanting to come here since we moved to Dallas and glad we made it with a couple of friends. I enjoyed myself and the price is great! They have a large selection of various dips (hummus etc), salads, rice and both meat/vegetarian options. Their spicy hummus, tabbouleh, meatballs, pita bread and beef kabobs are some of the things I really enjoyed. They don't have a great selection of dessert but I was so full after I ate I didn't have space for anything else. The food overall was ok. Quality was good, taste was fine, and it was fresh and plentiful, a departure from what you often find at many buffets. It was the ambiance that would keep me away. I felt like i was eating in a hospital cafeteria. No music, no personal service at all, bright lights, just nothing that would bring me back. The atmosphere actually made me UNcomfortable (it was also cold inside on a cold, rainy night), so much so that it's the main reason I won't return. Pretty solid spot for Mediterranean buffet. I've been here several times for lunch and they have a pretty good food selection. It's $12.99 for the lunch buffet and they have everything from your salads to a variety of hummus and dips to your meats and soups. Their pita bread is constantly baked fresh so it's always soft and warm. They have your usual meats you may find at a Mediterranean restaurant including your lamb gyro, chicken, and fish options. If you're not a huge fan of Mediterranean food, there's also some Americanized options as well. Don't forget to save some room for their baklava for dessert! This a buffet... Nothing special and the outside looks shabby.. But once in the food is good. And the price affordable. Let start you go straight to the buffet and pay after you are done. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is cooked wonderfully. The salads are fresh and full of flavor. I had this baked eggplant that was very yummy I had to get seconds. Variety of rice combos were a welcome site since I was with a person who has dietary restrictions.so it was wonderful we could both eat and have a wonderful meal. Now on to the breads.. Please get the fresh baked pita bread.. Warm out of the oven. But if you are there and there is a cold on they are still good.. These are so yummy.. And the deserts were great... If you like to eat around 500 screaming kids running around, this is your place. Fresh naan made frequently.
