So many choices, and they're all very good. My first instinct is to be skeptical of a large variety of items in a buffet. Yes, it took us several years to finally try Dimassi's and it took three visits and confirmations from friends for me to write this revenue. How can you have an all you can eat buffet, with excellent quality food, for only $13. I don't know, but they are doing it. We usually arrive early before most of the crowd and the same here. We were greeted by a young lady at the door, and behind the register. She would be the only employee we would see during our visit. Yes, the plates do stack up at the table. It is nontraditional in this regard, but try to overlook it. If you are a vegetarian, committed carnivore, and possess a sophisticated sweet tooth, you will have plenty of choices. We especially love all the sauces and spices that allow for an even broader experience. Dimassi's buffet is my favorite buffet here at Austin. Many of the options Dimassi's offers are healthy, and the food seems to be fresh. The staff are friendly, and the interior is pretty clean. Parking is not a problem as long as you come during the weekdays. The ambiance is pretty lively because it's fairly loud during dinnertime. I like their rose water drink and their naan that I can add lamb meat to. The rose water drink is lightly tinted pink water that has a little bit of sugar added. It has a mild sweet taste with some floral notes. I should learn how to make a rose water drink someday too. The naan is always warm and fluffy. It's better than any bread I've ever tried at a buffet, and this statement is coming from someone that dislikes eating bread-like products. I would highly recommend Dimassi's for their top-notch buffet. They offer Mediterranean ranging from salads, meats, desserts, and naan. After reading Nathan's review, I knew I had to go back. It wasn't terrible before the management change but it wasn't that good either. I can't say what the dinner buffet price was, as BF paid before I got there. So all I had to do was pick a table since no one else was there I had my choice. Here are the standouts from the buffet: Shredded beef is extremely good. I believe it is lamb shanks shredded with a tomato added and packs flavor galory. The kafath kabob was great with a little tahini sauce. These are ground beef mixed with spices and shaped like logs. The falafel was very good. Chickpeas and spices cooked into round balls. Dimassi's spinach was my favorite veggy dish. I have to say the pita bread is fresh but it was thicker than I am used to. The three dishes I wasn't pleased with were the DiMassi Eggplant with pomegrante juice. Kind of sour tasting. The chicken kabab which wasn't so much it was dry but it had red specks that were way too spicy. Finally the rice and lentils were not seasoned and the lentils made it dry. There were so many choices but I only tried half of them. I had to have room for dessert. Of course, I tried the bakalava. Yummy, moist and not rock hard. I love this place. I used to eat at a Dimassis regularly in The Woodands, TX, and when we moved here and I saw another, my heart soared. The baba ganoush is epic, as are the meats, rose water drink, and desserts. Highly recommend!!!! You won't regret it! Also, the menu is SO CLEAN and sanitary with COVID-19. This used to be one of my favorite restaurants. My most recent visit, on a Friday night, was just so so. The prices have gone up quite a bit. This is expected during this strange economic time but I would expect to have good quality food for the price. Weekend prices are higher because they're are supposed to offer leg of lamb and a few other additional items. These were not available as far as I could tell. Staff wasn't at the register to ask until I was pretty much done eating. All sanitary precautions are gone. No gloves, the food isn't shielded. The other night I was there with two friends unfortunately arrived about 830 just 30 minutes before closing I understand that this is a difficult thing however the staff was extremely rude and uncourteous. We were extremely rushed the man was very rude telling us they were closing and we were actually gone by 9:04 PM. Even the cashier was extremely rude and came and told me to close the tab and I got up and paid for the whole thing so that they would calm down. I believe it is because we were Spanish speakers. Was disappointed they didn't honor our stamp card. We had 9 stamps and must have changed ownership. Said no longer honored the old one , but gave us a new one to start over??? It's very challenging to get a parking spot, and the spots are narrow. I almost missed it, but you can see it from the other side of the highway lit up like it was tonight (Friday). I was greeted by a friendly hostess. It's assumed that you seat yourself in the large dining room. It was very cold outside, so I sat in the back where it was much warmer. One of the chairs was cut-up, and the restaurant itself is a little run down although clean. There is plenty of soap in the restroom, but the hot water turns cold when the water supply is shared. The buffet is very well lit and beautifully presented. All the plates, quality paper napkins and such are at the buffet stand. There was so much selection that I didn't get a chance to eat dessert, however I did try their rose water at the self serve, and it was extremely sweet and red. I had only knocked on the kitchen door and asked for an item that was missing from the buffet. I was confronted by the cashier and he threatened to call the police because he didn't do his job to go ask the kitchen. Mostly good food and shittttty service. We are never going back again.
