I've been to this place countless times. The quality always stay consistent for dim sum. I'm not too big on their entrees but the dim sum is always a must. I've tried mostly everything on their dim sum menu and I can honestly say you can't go wrong with any of the options. It's always fresh and hot out of the steamer. It's the best dim sum I've ever had and I've had plenty. None of the places in Philly can compete. My favorites are both the Hong Kong & Shanghai Shao Mai. The only thing I would prefer is for the chili oil to be spicier. It gives a nice crunch to the dishes but it's not spicy enough for me. Other than that, the food and service is quick. I feel like I'm here at least once a week. read more

I placed an order online for picking up on Black Friday night. It closes at 10:30PM on Friday. I came to pickup my order about 10PM. They did not give me any chopsticks, spoon, fork, and napkins that are supposed to be prepared inside the bag. I ordered 1 Hong Kong shu mai and 1 Beef chow ho fun. They were tasty and fresh. However, beef chow ho fun portion was small (only half of the take out box) My friends and I placed another online for picking up 1 more time on this Monday night 12/16. Every was good and delicious. The dry pot beef was a little salty. We had Hong Kong shu mai, roast duck noodles soup, beef chow ho fun, and dry pot beef. read more

I've written about Dim Sum Mania before, but not since Covid. I just wanted to say that the online ordering system is great . Our order has been correct every time. And yes, it's still just as delicious. We usually get Hot and Sour soup (the best in the area). Chicken on a stick, MANY Soup Dumplings, Tom's Spicy Dumplings, plenty of Scallion Pancakes (Original and Stuffed with Pork), Spicy Chilled Noodles . All on point and that dipping sauce is BOMB !! read more

Excellent food and service! Our waitress Ann was amazing!! We will be back! We loved the Szechuan dumplings, scallion pancakes, fried rice, chicken on stick and sesame chicken!!! read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Media! I especially love their soup dumplings, but their noodles and appetizers are also great. I've never had anything I didn't like at Dim Sum Mania. It's also really well-priced and you can get a lot of food without spending too much. Great food and great value--can't beat that! read more

Dim sum is okay here, fixes my dim sum cravings since it is one of the few places in media/exton that serves dim sum. Would recommend the dimsum but probably not their soup noodles since it was very very mediocre. Dishes are also just alright. read more

Modern feel and huge menu make this place great! Get the sticky rice in lotus leaf and fries. So good. Wasn't 5 stars due to a few items on the bland side. read more

Very good first time ever having soup dumplings so not an expert. However they was delicious loved everything orange beef , fried dumplings, soup dumplings and some shrimp dumplings only thing I wasn't impressed with is generals tsos chicken it was good but everything else was great. read more

Excellent food, quality service would recommend anyone in the area try their dim sum.

Food has kinda languished in the USA. BUT NOT HERE! Fresh, hot, flavorful...we were in the USA for two weeks, spent loads on all kinds of food BUT THIS WAS THE BEST! Service is fast and cheery. The room is big and loud, just like a dim sum joint should be. The scallion pancake is great, but so is all of it! Top quality! read more

One of our FAVORITES! Best soup dumplings ever....actually I haven't had anything I didn't love! Gotta try!

This location is founded by Tom, after splitting with his partner who owns Tom's next door. It's basically the same menu. Ambiance isn't necessarily better or worse. Most of the staff from the old Tom's moved over to this location. Food is stellar. Unless you're in Chinatown, this is the best Chinese food in the region. read more

This is our go-to place in Media for Chinese food. Great food and service. The menu is quite extensive so you have many choices for Dim Sum or dinner entrees. It's a fairly large restaurant with a nice decor. Also, it's a BYOB. read more

The food was ok Pork fried rice very very salty! The waiter was quite possibly the worst waiter I have ever had. ... never even said thank you or came to check out how our dinner was. No atmosphere felt like I was at a food court Panda Express. Very very disappointed for a 95.00 bill. read more

Dim Sum Mania always proves to be a good choice for dinner. The food is heaven for one's tastebuds and the dining vibe is immaculate. They have open full length windows in the summertime which leads to an impeccable eating environment. They also have full-length windows in other seasons, but I particularly enjoy it in the summertime. Not sure what places would change their windows by the season, but I don't want to confuse anyone! Your water glass is never empty here, and the kitchen is always fast. Believe it or not, I have only had to use the bathroom here once but it was very clean when I did and I quite enjoyed the scent of my hand soap. Some go-to dishes are the fried chicken dumplings and the pork soup dumplings, but we also often branch out to perfect our order. It is important to be open to new things! I also find that the length of my table matches the size of my order quite well. They know I be ordering lots of food. There will be a small table right there, but you can see in the waiter's eye's that they already know this would be a poor match for yours truly. Instead, a much longer table is chosen for me and this shows they really know their customers because I personally do not feel I appear as someone who requires a long table (although I do require a long table). read more

Our favorite stop for dumplings. All the soup dumplings are delicious. We always order the scallion pancakes, pork chive dumplings and the string beans (without pork) were perfectly prepared. Fun tv plays fascinating shows that enthrall watchers as a bonus. Big dining room so easy to get a table most nights. Dumpling sauce on the tables is good enough to eat with a spoon! read more

Everything was great food was good staff was good and environment was pleasant to be fair

I'm a MANIAc for my dim sum fix and this place let's you eat it not only for breakfast and lunch, but also for dinner! For dim sum, the prices here are a little higher than normal, however, I think it's worth it seeing how it's closer to the burbs, easier to find parking and quality is high. Soup dumplings were amazing. Just enough juices in them to slurp and they came out piping hot. The rice roll has great texture because of the softness and also since it was hot. The clams with minced pork and beef chow fun are really good as well, good flavors. Solid spot and especially with the layout of the building, you got the big space, you're not overly close to other diners, and they have a big tv on the wall, gives it that more modern and casual dining experience. And I can't emphasize this enough, I don't have to drive into the city and find parking... read more

We are literally here right now watching tables who came in after us get their food. It took 15 minutes to get a waitress to take our order, even after drawing their attention to us twice. "Just one second!' We are the only table here with a black person. Make of that what you will. Update - after two tables that came after us got fed and we were still waiting, we left and went next door to Tom's. read more

This restaurant was so cool. The food was amazing, the service was super quick and the people were so nice! I really enjoyed being there for dinner. Really affordable pricing too. Highly reccomend! read more

My all time new favorite spot in Media. All these random bad reviews must be confused with another restaurant because my experience in Dim Sum Mania was superb. The quality of their food is up to par with their prices. I am a huge fan of their "xiaolongbaos" AKA soup dumplings and their scallion pancakes. I'm very picky about my wontons and I have to say they have the best ones I have yet to try besides China. Their food reminds me of home, back in Shanghai where my grandparents made me food. Their service is great. The staff are all nice and welcoming. I also love the decor in the restaurant and their huge attractive television. ALSO: they are BYOB read more

I was visiting Media and I suddenly craved for dim sum. I found Dim Sum Mania on yelp and decided to try it out. My first impression of the restaurant is the excellent customer service. The waiters were very responsive and came out with all the yummy dishes in a timely matter. I ordered Shanghai Bok Choy (Fresh and Savory), Creamy Steamed Bun (Warm and Toasty), Chicken on stick (Flavorful and Juicy), Crab Meat Pork Soup Dumplings (Yummy and Juicy), and finished it off with a Tomato Egg Soup Noodles(Hangover Healing). Everything I had at the restaurant reminded me of my best friend's cooking from Shanghai. I live in Philadelphia, but I am willing to drive to Media just for a taste of home! read more

The food is amazing. You can't go wrong with the dumplings or the entrees. The spice level is just right. Friendly service too.

There is an unfortunate restaurant war going on between this place and Tom's one storefront over. It's a shame because both are good. This one is better though. Dim Sum Mania is the best Chinese in Media right now. The soup dumplings, scallion pancakes, and cold noodles are all amazing. Shanghai bok choy, string beans with pork and eggplant with garlic sauce also among the best I've tried. The ho fun, spicy shrimp dishes and the noodle soups have never disappointed. I think some of the reviews might reflect the ongoing battle between these two places - but while both are good - this one is my choice. read more

(scallion pancakes, general tsos chicken, shrimp shumai, pork buns) one of if not the worst dim sum/Chinese food I've ever had. The soup dumplings were fine but nothing great. The only saving grace was the location. Super cute area. Thanks a lot Noel. read more

This place is great. We picked many appetizers to split and got entrees as well. My sister is gluten free and this restaurant is one of the most accommodating I have ever seen. The service is quick and the food is delicious. Definitely give it a try! If you do - try some of the fried shrimp dumplings and the general tso chicken. read more

I was concerned with the original Tom's Dim Sum since it seemed like the quality went down each time I visited..until I found out that they had kicked out Tom. He's since opened up this place and the food is better than ever. My partner and I ordered the sesame chicken, walnut shrimp, small bowls of soup and the staple pork soup dumplings, all of which were delightful. Looking forward to the leftovers for lunch the next day! The servers are sweet, attentive but not overbearing, and the TV broadcast showcasing food culture was definitely a nice ambiance bonus. Couldn't be happier read more

I walk in with me and my friends, everythings normal they are being nice we order our normal stuff. and I say oh yea we should tip them like 10$. and that's when all hell breaks loose they all begin STARING at us the entire time not breaking eye contact I don't think they even BLINKED!! On top of that we get a box and the check. I didn't even get a chance to look at the bill before he walks back over to pick it up 'sorry sir haven't put the money in yet'. the waiter comes back to pick up the check after staring and watching me put the money in then begins to RIP OUT the money and begin counting it in front of my face. I tipped more than 20% and that was just rude. 1 star never going back again. the only reason they get a one star is because the food was good. read more

Meal was great until the hostess asked my 76yo mother and daughters (20-18-18yrs) "how much longer they'd be at their table?" When they had only been at their table for about an hour. And paid the check. Apparently the other two open tables couldn't be used for the customers waiting. Just the one my family was sitting in. I'd highly recommend going as long as you don't mind getting kicked out as soon as the staff want to turn your seat over. read more

Great food...byob, too. Plenty of seating--didn't need a reservation. Will definitely come here again and bring our family when they visit!

We live in North Wilmington, DE, and traveled about 25 minutes to get to this location. My daughter LOVES soup dumplings and these were as good as we have gotten in Philadelphia. We ordered online, and there was a bit of a wait when we arrived, but the place was so busy!! It was rainy and ugly out, and most places in Media looked empty, but not here! We got take-out. 3 orders of pork soup dumplings, 1 order of vegetable soup dumplings, 2 orders of chicken on a stick, chicken with broccoli and and order of Vegetable Noodles. Everything was fresh and prepared and packed with care. We spent a little under $60. I would highly recommend this place and would like to go back to eat-in next time. read more

I have been here a few times and have really enjoyed it every time. Our go to is the Cucumber salad and a mix of different dumplings. The food always comes out quickly and I love the tea that they bring to the table. When the weather is nice they open the front sliders and it's a really enjoyable environment. I felt the pricing was very reasonable. read more

Went for lunch with my son and we really enjoyed this place. We ordered Chicken on a stick, Scallion Pancakes, Crab Soup Dumplings and Pork Fried Soup Dumplings...ALL well made & delicious! Been to Dim Sum Garden in Philly many times and honestly prefer Mania for its food, atmosphere (more relaxed, the big door was open & clean) and service- friendly & prompt. We'll be back again. read more
