Dil's replaced my roof 5 years ago just before I bought the house. Since then I have had a couple of leaks during heavy rains. Adrian has repaired both leaks in a timely manner. Turns out the leaks were not my roof but runoff from the site where my house connects to another. This is due to non maintenance from my HOA. Dil's did not charge me for the work. Ryan called after the work was done just to follow up on the job. They provided me with before and after photos for my records. GREAT QUALITY WORK - EVERYTHING ELSE VERY POOR Starting with the positives, they do great work paying attention to detail. They replaced a lot of bad wood we had from dry rot and termite damage. Replaced a lot of broken tiles and ultimately giving us a good roof we feel confident it will last us 35 plus years. They also cleaned up all around the house each day before leaving with the exception of the very last day when their electrical guy was here finishing reconnecting our solar system. The problems that contributed only giving them two stars are multiple frustrating issues from the start to the end of the process getting our good quality roof. 1. Our house is a two story house with almost 1900 square feet. So the roof structure isn't that massive. Our salesperson Chris said at the start the project shouldn't take more than 1-1/2 weeks to finish with normally four guys each day assigned to projects this size. The project took 3 weeks and one day. The project would have taken even longer if my wife and I didn't start pressuring them after 2 weeks. 2. Most days the crew consisted of only two guys. There were only four or more guys on a total of four days during the whole project. Called the Operations Manager Armando during the project on many days that he only had two guys working and the answer was always the same, that guys called in sick and one guy was consistantly having car problems and not able to come to work. 3. The guys were supposed to start each day around 8am, but most days they didn't show up until 8:20am and get started around 8:30am. They all would take 1-1/2 hour lunches. Start cleaning up at 4:30pm and leave for the day at 5pm. Fridays they only worked half days and left at 12:30pm. This adds up to only 32 hour weeks. I called Ryan the General Manager/Owner expressing my above concerns. Ryan was appreciative of me sharing my concerns and stated that they aren't known to be the quickest roofing company but they are a high quality in workmanship roofing company and assured me when it is done that I will have a roof that will last 35 plus years. 4. In the process of reinstalling and connecting my solar system, they discovered they had damaged some connecting parts that must have happened when they removed the system. Thankfully, all the solar panels were okay. This was on a Friday and I called the Operations Manager Armando to find out what he was going to do since the solar people left for the day. I mentioned I wanted it finished by Monday. Come Monday no one showed up. Called Armando again and he gave me the impression he completely forgot our conversation last Friday and thought everything was done. He said he would call his solar guy and get back with me. He called later and said he would not be out until Thursday and arrive around 9am. I wasn't happy because this added to more days without generating electricity. Come Thursday, no solar guy by 9:20am. I called Armando again. He said he had to call his guy and get back with me. Armando called back and said his guy got delayed at the supplier warehouse and will be at our house around 10am to 10:30am. He didn't arrive until about 12 noon. He finished around 3pm with installing the last solar panel and all the connections. I got on the roof a few days later and discovered old electrical boxes, connecters, cut wires, and a general mess left on the roof by the solar guy. Definitely not acceptable, but decided to clean it up myself because I didn't want to have to deal with someone to come back and wanted to be just done with it and move on. So, as a result, I do feel I have a good quality new roof. However, experienced a lot of frustrations that the whole project took much longer than it should have. There are hundreds of roofing companies out there and I'm sure can provide the same quality roof, but Dils would not be my recommendation. read more

We highly recommend DILS roofing. We obtained proposals from 5 other prominent roofing companies to have our existing lightweight concrete tile removed and replaced with fiberglass shingles, we also had some flat areas re-roofed with PVC roll roofing. DILS was very responsive, met all of our project requirements, was in line with other proposals we received, and were easy to work with from start to finish. Change orders for additional repairs were IAW the terms of the contract, and processed in a timely manner. DILS also worked well with our solar installer so the solar installation was seamless. We had a few minor follow-up issues with the skylight installation, but I simply placed a call to DILS, and they were on it and corrected the issue within a day. Everybody we interacted with at DILS were very helpful and friendly. We are very pleased with our new roof and would highly recommend to family and friends. read more

We had Dils roofing replace our wooden shingles with concrete tiles and also some flat roof that had developed leaks some years ago, our house has not had a drop of water inside since. They stuck to the scheduled dates and did quality work. That has generally been the exception, rather than the rule, for work I have contracted on our house. Dils Roofing work Our Roof has had a few leaks over the years and this last January when it rained hard for a couple of days, we had some serious leaks that required a pan to catch the water. We decided to install solar and it was necessary to ensure the roof would be ready, so we had the roof repaired and installed new underlayment in preparation for the solar project The roofing work was quoted (after an initial visit by the Owner, Ryan Dils) at a fair price (we obtained bids from 6 roofers) and all additional work for wood replacement was clearly communicated and justified. There was a fair amount of wood damage from water and termites that needed to be replaced. From what I can determine on my own without going up on the roof, all seems to be complete (the crew did a good job and were very diligent--Luis and his partner were great and their superintendent monitored the work). The roofing work was completed in a very detailed and thorough manner and I am happy with the end result. Avoid! They had to re-work and patch portions of the roof 3 times. These clowns fell through my roof and ceiling - then they sent a guy to repair the ceiling that made it look like a water balloon. Then a poor guy cut his hand and left blood on my patio, hose, gate, walls - gross. Months and months of burden- avoid! And they left nails and debris in the yard. Dils Roofing replaced our roof in 2004. We have had no problems with our roof since then. The installation was expert and the materials superb. We just had our roof inspected to see if we need to replace any tiles and Ryan found no broken tiles. This amazing as we have our skylights cleaned twice a year and we have had our house tented for termites and neither of these caused any damage to our roof tiles. Because our roof is 14 years young we asked to have the seals on our flanges and roof caps checked and repaired as needed. All we needed was a bit of construction grade adhesive reapplied, which is something that should be done every 5 to 8 years. Ryan was very knowledgeable, skilled, efficient and helpful. I cannot praise the quality of Dils services and products. We can now rest assured that our roof will protect our home from the elements. All the roof is sealed to prevent any curious rodents from entering our home. Dils is the kind of contractor you dream of finding. They were booked up a few months out, so I knew I would have to wait. I thought about going with another company just to get it done sooner, but since I knew they did good work I decided to waited. It was a long wait, because they had to reschedule me two times. 5 months later I have a new roof. They took longer than expected, but I now have a nice roof. If I need another roof job I will call them again. I didn't give them 5 stars only because of the long wait.
