Went to Dillon Lake yesterday, rented a Pontoon Boat for a few hours, my husband caught a good size trout. We had a great time. We will definitely go back. The Marina is clean, super nice, lots of amenities, and there was a concert near the lake, the staff was mostly young adults and I was pleasantly surprised on how all of them were SO polite and helpful. That's nice for a change these days. I don't have a bad thing to comment on. read more

The process for scheduling was very simple and the staff member that was assisting me was very helpful and thorough. Check in was very smooth and Seth was extremely courteous. We were having some technical once we got out on the lake, so we called back to the marina and they instructed us to head back. When got there they immediately moved all of us to another boat and we were on our way. We had a wonderful time and we would do it again. Thank you! read more

We rented a Catalina 22 sailboat and were very happy with our experience. Even though it was a busy August Saturday, everyone we interacted with was relaxed and nice. I'm not sailing certified, so they interviewed me briefly until they were comfortable I could sail and that was all. The boat was a recent model and well maintained. The 22 is a little tight on space in the cockpit, so I wouldn't bring more than two adults. We also had one little one with us and the Marina folks were accommodating of his antics and made sure he would be wearing a life jacket before letting us out. As for parking, there wasn't a lot of space and its on dirt (mud that day from rain) but we found a spot anyway. The lake was beautiful and though there was a regatta going on, there was still plenty of space between us and other boats. We'll be back for sure. read more

My parents in law rented two pontoon boats as part of the activities for our family reunion yesterday. I was nervous beforehand as I've never ridden on a pontoon and have never really enjoyed "boating" as I tend to get sick. The drive from Breckenridge to Dillon was beautiful. The pontoon was good, smooth and I didn't get headaches or sick. It was great fun for all the family, we had 13 kids ages 6 mons to 15. Since my child was the 6 month old, I would say bring a bottle as their life jackets get in the way for nursing. Also bring light jackets/sweaters (we did) as it gets cold here and there. The views of the mountains from the lake were fantastic. There is a little restaurant in the marina and the bathrooms were clean and well maintained. There is a ramp from the parking lot for strollers/wheelchairs but it is pretty steep, at least it's better than nothing. Would go back. Wasn't packed full of boats out on the lake like in other places. read more

What a beautiful way to spend a late afternoon in August. When we booked the boat the weather was not very nice. We shifted our reservation 3 times. Third time was the charm. The staff were so accommodating and nice. Customer Service was great. Get out and enjoy Lake Dillon read more

We rented a pontoon boat. The boat was in good condition and the weather was perfect. However the front desk people were unhelpful and boarder line rude. read more

We had friends in town and decided it would be fun to do a sunset sail on Lake Dillion. Great idea!!! Marie was a great captain. She was very nice and such a knowledgeable young lady. It was such a great time and what a beautiful setting! This is something we plan to do again! read more

What a wonderful 2 hours we had on lake Dillon yesterday. We had a pontoon boat for 12 so the 6 Adults and 6 kids motored around the lake on a beautiful afternoon. The boat was easy to handle The staff were friendly and helpful. For $200 it was a very special trip. Try it, you will love it read more

Reservations made in advance. Requested four hours by email, but no one got back to me. No one answered phone, called several times. Arrive early. The whole process takes longer than you think prior to departure. Email receipt did not mention that Dillon and Frisco Marinas are two places. We only knew about the Marina in Frisco. So went to Frisco then had to drive over to Dillon. Marina very crowded on a Thursday in iffy weather. Dillon Marina bathrooms were clean earlier in day, but dirty and no soap later in day. First boat they gave us did not start, so we switched to another. Boat was clean. 22 foot was a good size for family and bouncing on the the white cap waves. The dogs did well on the boat. The laminated map was helpful. Directions for operating the boat were clear. Return instructions were clear. We were under dressed for the wind and continual white cap spray. Thus cold and wet. Since weather was in 90's in Denver and high 80's in Vail we expected to be warm or hot on the boat. The on site employees were pleasant. Parking was very crowded. Many stairs to parking lot. Make sure to bring your own food, cooler and beverages. Be prepared for wind or rain. You can't swim off the boat. read more

We spent 4 hours on the lake Tuesday. We had a group of 13 people on a 25' pontoon. We had a great time. Everyone was super friendly, they explained in detail where we could go and where we needed to avoid to not damage the prop. They even let us go out a bit early so we got extra time on the rental. We had the best of times! read more

Not worth the money. I paid to rent a boat for a four hour trip. I thought we were going to get a nice pontoon boat. Instead we got a beaten up boat that was super old. The employee told us that he was giving us the beaten up boat because we were going fishing. Apparently if you are going fishing, you get the cruddy boat because they don't want any damage done to the newer boats done by any fishing knives or hooks. So keep that in mind if you decide to use these boats for fishing. The boat was so wrecked that the fuel gauge didn't work. It was stuck on E the whole time, but they claimed it was full of gas. Also the top speed was about 10-15 miles an hour. Then towards the end of our trip we heard a loud beep. I called the office and told them the low oil light came on. They told me to turn off the engine and wait for the help. "Help" arrived 20 mins later. The employee admitted the tank looked "bone dry" then proceeded to laugh. Apparently this was a funny situation to him. Imagine renting a car that had no oil in it. Makes you wonder how often these boats are really maintained. I was hoping maybe they would offer some sort of discount or partial refund. They offered nothing. I asked if everyone got an old model like the one I had. The staff chuckled and told me that boat wasn't even the oldest. Apparently they have much older models. So to summarize, pay a lot of money to get an old boat that's slow, has a broken fuel gauge, no oil in it, oh and no anchor. On the plus side, they were nice enough to provide us with a paddle for our pontoon boat. read more

My first Sailing lesson, went out with Ms Jenn, I was nervous but she made me feel more confident even though we were in more wind than expected. Jenn was very detailed but not overwhelming in her instruction. Felt like I came a long way in just 4 hrs. read more

So beautiful up here and the pontoon rental made it that much better. Very nice boats and very nice people. Will do this again.

Women and Wine is $50... not including wine. It is BYO. Apps included are very sweet.. not suited for wine. Cheese, crackers, nuts, dried Fruit, apples, etc.. are suggestions but cupcakes, jams, sweet cherries, only one item.. cheese pop up biscuits was not sweet. We weren't drinking dessert wine. Fyi. read more

Had a fantastic time. Highly recommend. Two hours was just enough to explore the lake.

What a great discovery! As someone who has spent most of their life on the East coast, close to water, this is my new refuge. We rented the runabout, which was perfect for my partner and I. Being from Denver, he had never really been in a motorboat or had the opportunity to drive one. (Don't worry I was right there when he did, and there were not many on the lake.) We had a great day! We packed a lunch, had time to completely slowly circle the lake as well as make a few runs back and forth to feel the air in our face and the spray from the wake. The speed limit is 30, which is perfect for our runabout. There were times when we had a nice breeze that made me glad I was on a motorboat and NOT on a paddleboard or Kayak. FYI we rented for 3 hours which for 2 adults was good, not sure if I had little kids if I would go that long. We made our reservation at least 2 weeks ahead, and they said they were booked through the weekend. The drive from North Denver took us about 1.25 hours on a Thursday morning. They had a nice looking outdoor restaurant there, which we will try next time. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the boat and the restrooms were clean. We will be back! Thank you! read more

This place is absolutely amazing. The staff are so awesome loving and courteous. The prices are amazing for being able to rent boats and be out on the lake without having to own your own boat. The scenery is to die for. We love going to this place every summer. read more

Great service, beautiful lake and helpful staff. The reason for the four stars is the boat (18' runabout) was "less than new" and had signs of wear and tear. The boat was clean, but just showed some age. Plus, the speedometer didn't work and with a 30 mph limit on the lake, this lead to some guesswork. I would use Dillon Marina again. read more

David is correct. The beer at the marina is also too expensive, the excuse being that 'they have to haul it down there.' Go across the lake to the Frisco marina (Island Grill), much better. read more

I wasn't the one who went inside to do all of the paperwork for our boat rental, but the people on the phone who took the reservation and the dock hands were extremely friendly and accommodating. I filled out the reservation request online after hours and someone called me back even before the office opened the next morning to get us set up. I also asked about dogs on the boat and was told they are "welcome and encouraged," which surprised me; I was expecting a "no" or to at least be quoted a strict policy about damage deposits or cleaning fees. The dock hands were also fantastic, they told us to come back 10 minutes late at no charge because we were late getting on the water because we were waiting on another friend to get there. Their rental rates were more affordable than what I would expect too. For 2 hours, it's $105 for a 6-person speed boat, or $135 for a 12-person pontoon. We got a bunch of people together and grilled lunch on the grill on the back of the boat. With gas and everything, it was under $20/person... pretty much what it costs to go out for lunch and get a couple drinks anywhere. We plan on doing this as much as possible this summer, it's such a great affordable way to spend a beautiful day! read more

Had such a blast impromtu kayaking! Tons of boats, kayaks, paddle boards for rent. Beautiful scenery, great vibe

HORRIBLE customer service- I reserved a small pontoon boat for 3:30 pm. On the way, we hit traffic, and called to make the Marina representative aware we would be late. We were assured that we would still be able to take the boat out as long as we returned it at 5:30 pm. When we arrived at 3:40, we began filling out the paperwork when an assistant manager came out and abruptly told us that we were late and wouldn't be able to take a boat out. We told her that we had just spoken with another individual who said we would be fine if we arrived late. The assistant manager was EXTREMELY rude in telling us that it was "our fault we were late" and she "had to do her job". Overall, our experience was extremely off putting and I would not recommend this Marina. read more

We rented a 20' pontoon on a beautiful, sunny day. The staff at the Marina were very helpful and informed. They answered all our questions and were most professional. The pontoon was in top condition, seemed brand new! The ladies on the pier were most helpful and patient with our questions. We had a wonderful two hours on the cruise. Truly relaxing and delightful. The two young men who guided us is were equally friendly and professional. Definitely a must if you are visiting Dillon! read more

Outstanding experience renting a pontoon boat at Dillon Marina! The boat was beautifully maintained, clean, comfortable and easy to drive. On Tuesday, July 13 6 of us had booked a pontoon boat for 4 hours. I had my concerns about the weather (yes, I signed the waiver) because a huge black cloud was coming in and the water was already choppy to begin with. Our "instructor" assured me that we had nothing to worry about and sent us out on the lake. Within an hour powerful winds started to rock our boat to the point that we all thought it was going to tip over and sink. Strong waves crashed up on us as well as being pelted by rain. We were soaked within minutes and our boat was taking on water. Needless to say we were all terrified and extremely thankful to make it safely back to the dock where we were greeted with jovial laughter and joking from the staff that "at least no one fell overboard"! Not one staff member acknowledged that we had had an awful experience. I went directly into the office at the marina and was simply given back my driver's license and credit card that they were holding. No offer to compensate us for the hours lost on the lake. Only after my husband went in and complained did they agree to only charge us for 2 hours instead of the 4 we had been charged for. There were others who came in to the office visibly shaken after their experience on the lake. Not one offer from the Marina for even the most nominal compensation for their distress. I felt it very unfair and lacked plain old good business. They (the staff) just kept falling back on the fact that all had signed the waiver and they could not control the weather. Fair enough but this was extraordinary weather and the Marina should have NEVER sent boats out in those conditions. read more

The Catalina 22 Sport that I rented for two hours on the lake was excellent - my family enjoyed our time sailing very much. I had reserved the boat the prior Thursday, yet the day after our sail my wife, for some unknown reason, received a "thank you" email and request for a review. We were perplexed, as the marina had gotten all of my information when I reserved the boat and made payment on my card. We called twice to have this error on their part corrected, and the email sent to me instead, but was told by Will at the service desk that all of that is handled by a 3rd party, and there's nothing they could do - he even said he checked with his manager. In future I would suggest handling billing and email correspondence properly - that is, with the contact person who made the reservation in the first place. If Dillon Marina would like me to amend this review, I would be more than happy to. All I ask is that they send me the same email my wife received, as should have happened in the first place. read more
