I have rented both 22 foot pontoon boats and 22 foot Catalina sailboats for years at this marina and keep coming back. We have a family tradition of renting a pontoon boat once a year. The staff is very friendly and efficient. They even gave our dog a doggy biscuit. This is the first year we brought our small Chihauhau onto the pontoon boat. New this year: they have an excellent 5-minute video you watch to receive a quick orientation of the lake - hazards, channel markers, and rules. This, I'm sure, helps the marina staff operate more efficiently in handling customers. We always go during the week -- not on weekends -- to get the best experience: avoid the weekend crowds and have the lake nearly to yourself. Also, new is that the cost of gas is now included in the rental fee -- so no extra charge for fuel, now (unlike in the past). It is fun to sail from the highest marina in North America (9,017 feet) -- the winds can be a bit tricky - and change direction on you quickly - but you're surrounded by stunning mountain views in all directions. The lake is big enough to get some awesome sailing in. Come enjoy sailing in the mountains! read more

The boat ride itself was very nice and the history of the lake/area was interesting. There are very few activities that my 89 year old mother can do since she must use a walker. I did check with this company and was told she could access the boat easily. She did manage to complete this excursion, but knowing what I know now, I would have bypassed this activity. The check-in area is a level above where the boat is. Some of this may have to do with the low lake levels. My mother had to walk down a very long and steep metal ramp. Once at the bottom it was still quite a walk for her to get to the boat. The boat pier was made of concreted rock, so it was very nice to walk on, it was just a long way for an elderly person. Getting onto the boat was not a problem for her. We loved the tour. Upon returning, the staff dropped us and the others off at the boat dock so I could drive down and pick up my mother. That was very handy. The staff was great and very helpful. I would take this trip again but would never take an elderly person with walking challenges. read more

This was my husband and my first time visiting Colorado and we wanted to take in the beautiful mountains from the water. I left a message after hours one evening about our interest in taking a 2 hour boat tour the following day or two. My call was returned promptly by Eric the following morning with a tour offer for that afternoon. Due to physical unsteadiness I expressed an interest in a pontoon boat rather than a sail boat and Eric went above and beyond to accommodate us. To our surprise when we checked in at the Marina's sailing school, we learned Eric would be our tour captain. I can't say enough about this young man's professionalism, knowledge of the area (and beyond) and his hospitality. Thank you Eric for such an enjoyable time (and for the Stevie Nicks music :)) We hope to visit again and have the opportunity to spend time on the water with you again. Debi & Sal G. read more

My family of five (my husband and I & our three kids age 22, 19, and 16) are vacationing in Colorado and we were looking for fun things to do around where we are staying. We decided to rent a pontoon boat from the Dillon Marina for a few hours. We love boating back home and had a blast at Dillon lake! Very different than boating in Kansas! The lake is beautiful to drive around on. We packed lunch and ate sandwiches on the boat. Our pontoon was super nice and we were glad it had a shaded roof for the sun. Over all 10/10! It was a little chilly so make sure if you go to take warm clothes, the wind can get cold on the lake! Staff was also super friendly & nice, it was easy to book, no crazy COVID rules. We wore masks when interacting with the staff before and after but we were able to take them off when boating. read more

I've passed by the reservoir many times on I-70 and wondered what it would be like to enjoy the scenery from the waterway. The option to rent a pontoon from Dillon Marina was perfect! Dillon rents a smaller pontoon for up to 10 people (we had 4) for less dollars so it was a great deal. It was a busy day so we could only get a 2-hour rental but it was plenty. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and their boats were clean and comfortable. And you can bring food/drink on board! This was a great experience for our family! Thanks Dillon Marina! (PS: Make reservations well in advance - this is a popular activity) read more

This was the BEST trip I took with my family and even the dog came. It's not often you find a boat rental that accepts ALL dogs. The staff there were soooo amazing and even waived us away as we left. We had tones of fun, I even heard sooo many families and friends that we walking to there car after there boating trip how much fun they had and couldn't wait to do this again. We have already scheduled another trip in September. This will be our favorite trip we'll plan every year and can't wait till next summer to start it again. read more

This weekend some friends and I did a sailing tour and it was incredible!!! We live in Denver and have been wanting to do this for a while now - we are so happy we finally made it happen! Lanie was our captain and we couldn't have asked for a better tour guide. She made our experience that much better with her knowledge about Lake Dillon and surrounding landmarks. If your looking for a new experience to spend quality time with friends or family, this is worth every penny! Thank You Lanie and Dillon Marina read more

When we're in Dillon for vacation, We always go sailing on the Lake - renting one of the Marina's 22' Catalinas. The boats are always in great shape and this year they had new propane outboard motors, replacing the old gas outboards. The staff if friendly and helpful. Sailing in the mountains is a unique experience all sailors should experience - changing wind directions and speeds with lots of opportunities to tack and gybe! Always a great day on the water. My wife and I took a sailing lesson from Marie and had an amazing time. Marie was quick to let us get hands on experience and very thorough in giving us the information and "why" behind everything. She moved us through a nice progression that allowed us to sail with 1 and 2 sails, practice our tacks and jibs, and experience a broad range of wind / weather. Exceeded our expectations and will definitely take more lessons from Dillion Marina! read more

We rented a 22' pontoon for 7 of us. The staff was very nice. It was comfortable, there was plenty of room for us, 2 coolers, and some backpacks. Just wish the lake was larger and that there was the ability to find a place to hang out along the shoreline. Not allowed on Dillon Lake except for tying up at dock in Frisco and walking to small beach area. We were told no swimming anywhere else on lake is allowed when we paid for boat. read more

Rented here 2x. Both pontoon rentals clean and well maintained, easy check-in and check-out. Staff super helpful and friendly. The marina is easy to find and parking was plentiful, they provide rolling carts to haul stuff bt car & boat. Call ahead to get the best sized boat for your party and the time you want. Dillon Reservoir is gorgeous and easy to navigate. Highly rec Dillon Marina! read more

Wonderful experience renting/piloting a pontoon boat for the first time. The marina's website makes the process clear & painless and there's surprisingly little up-front knowledge one needs before getting 'behind the wheel'. Some quick on-site paperwork and we were on the water in no time. Courteous and helpful staff. Would definitely recommend the experience to anybody. read more

We had a delightful sail in a with a boat and skipper(Ryan) that Dillion Marina provided. In particular, my sister in law, who has mobility problems was very well taken care of by Ryan and the staff at Dillon Marina. The sail was a good length and Ryan planned the route to give us a good experience without worrying either my wife or her sister. read more

Such a seamless process! Everything was very straightforward and the team was very responsive to any questions I had via e-mail and in person. They are taking COVID-19 seriously and they are pivoting beautifully! We had a group do a pontoon rental and everything was pristine! Couldn't recommend them enough! read more

Renting a boat here is the best experience! The lake is beautiful and watching the weather move in is fantastic. But it's the marina's welcoming feel that tops it all. We are always helped off and in the slip by happy helpful people. The atmosphere is laid back and friendly. We will definitely be back. read more

Good clean equipment. My 12 year old tweener was happy to have the bluetooth connection to the sound system and her joy at playing her playlist while cruising the lake was contagious. The staff was helpful, respectful and friendly. The process seamless. The bathrooms convenient and clean. read more

Enjoyed sailing one of their 22 Catalina's for a few hours. We showed up, did the paperwork, watched their video since we were first time renters and we were off. Boat was fine though small but we had a great time and the staff was friendly, polite and helpful. read more

We had the best experience at the Dillon Marina! The staff was friendly professional and helped us out, beyond expectation, when we struck some rocks and I busted my propeller. Read the maps and pay attention! I'll boat with them again for sure!! read more
