The interior could use a tad bit of "modernization" however. The seating is a tad bit outdated and some chairs are broken. The bathrooms could use more ventilation. During the summer time. They definitely utilize the AC to the MAX which is a major plus. During the summer time the place is virtually an ice box. , During the winter time. Heat is definitely utilized. They have power outlets. Charged my e-bike a few times here while waiting for the train. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. One thing you'll notice is when the Acela passes by at high speeds. The station almost feels like the "I Love Lucy" episode where the bunk beds are sliding across the room when the train passes by in that episode. Lol. ,No chairs move or anything but you can definitely feel the vibration somewhat when the Acela is passing. The staff here is amazing. Very very social and professional. Always smiling and happy. Very relaxed and calm staff. Greetings coming and going which is a major plus. The overall cleanliness is amazing. No trash cans overflowing nor empty toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. Soap dispensers are loaded with soap and the sinks have somewhat good water pressure. The overall environment is very relaxed and very calm. The general crowd is very highly disciplined. Mainly adults. Some kids. All very highly disciplined. There's an attached parking lot on both sides of the station as well as bike racks with surveillance. During the night time, The station is very well lit to deter crime which is another plus. Overall A++++++, The best part of the Odenton station is the staff. The nicest commuter bus I have ever been in…read more My sister and I along with a couple guys came out to Columbia for Virgin Mobile's FreeFest. On the Monday after the festival we had 7 hrs to do a turnaround trip from Columbia to DC before we had to hop on our flight back to LA. It sounded easy, until we came to realize that we were quite far from DC. After doing some research, we found this service from the Columbia Mall. We caught the bus around 7am. Our first impression: The bus: super clean, comfortable reclining seats, a/c and overhead reading lights (being from LA, I'm not used to commuter buses being luxury charter coaches). The driver: really nice and helpful, he had a few jerky stops at first, but after a while he got better and we were able to sleep. By the time we got into DC the bus was full of people en route to work, we seemed to be the only tourists. We got off at Independence Ave. It would have been a little easier if there were tourist maps on board, but the driver gave us suggestions on where to go. It took a little less than 2 hours to get into DC and it was perfect. The only problem we faced was getting back to Columbia because the earliest bus back started running at 2pm (reasonable because most of the riders were daily commuters). We ended up taking the Metro from Union Station to Silver Spring then a cab to Columbia Mall. The total trip back for the four of us was around $55 (Metro + cab), whereas our bus ride was around $5 per person. Yes, the cab + metro combo saved us 30 minutes, but it was much more expensive.

It can get sketchy at night, and sometimes the cabin lights get turned off momentarily mid-ride, either an electrical failure or a prank from beyond, but for $1.80 one-way, can you really complain about it? If you're hyper-sensitive about safety or time, then take an Uber or Lyft or call a buddy to pick you up. Otherwise, the light rail is at the far, far end of the airport and departs every 30 minutes. From BWI to Hunt Valley (end to end), the trip duration is 1 hour 20 minutes. These are their operating hours: Monday - Friday | 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Saturday | 6:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m. Sunday and Holidays | 11:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.

I was catching the last bus of the evening and got to the stop about 10 minutes ahead of time. Being a Friday I was the only one at the stop and pleasantly surprised to see the bus arriving on time. Unfortunately it blew right by without even pulling into the near lane. (I guess the driver didn't see me . . . . I was the guy waving my arms and a bright yellow backpack in the air like an idiot.) I called dispatch immediately and to their credit they called dispatch and had the bus come back around. I was told the bus was waiting for me 3 blocks back at an earlier stop and to walk there. No problem, figuring it would be turning before my stop to take a more direct route to the stops after mine. NOPE . . . . we went right past my stop. The driver even pulled over to the curb even though there really was no one there this time. (I guess making me walk 3 blocks in the ran was just because the driver thought I needed the exercise.)

The drivers are good, riders are diverse and professional, and Dillon's has gone out of their way whenever there was a problem. Once I left my phone on the morning bus and Dillon's dispatch asked the driver to give it to the evening driver who gave it to me. Another time our bus was struck by a car (no one was hurt but the car took off - the bus was so big, no one really even noticed onboard until the bus stopped) disabling the bus, and an empty bus came to pick us up in 20 minutes. I prefer taking the commuter bus 1,000 times more than the metro (which is always packed, broken down, bad cell connection, and thieves on every corner). On the bus I always get a seat, do my work on the bus or sleep, and there is never a worry that someone is going to steal my stuff or that I'll lose cell service. There are rules like no talking on the phone except for emergencies, and everyone seems to respect them.

He had provided proper instructions at the gate, my bad. The driver, he is an Air Force Veteran, was also very professional. Helped us with loading and unloading our baggage. He wrote down our space number on a card, including we are Premium. And made sure we were informed on identifying the correct West bus on our return.

The special I received was discount on parking that you could reserve up to a month before use. I was sent a QR code shortly before my trip to use when coming to the business. Upon entering the business, I was directed by a pleasant staff person to checkin in via QR code and they radioed the driver to let them know we were coming in and to wait to take us to the airport terminal. We parked and the pleasant driver assisted us with our luggage, gave us a card with our parking space number, and after picking up a couple more customers, we were on our way to the airport. Once we arrived at our airline stop, they assisted us with taking off our luggage. When we return, there is an area outside of BWI where they will come and we will board the van to take us to the business to pick up our vehicle. All in all, The Parking Spot West adequately meets the needs for off-airport parking for us.
