This is a small airport. The staff is cool and there is free coffee. Bathrooms are very clean. Stop by and watch some small planes.

The concourse has been opened up, and generally, it's spa to walk around, and it has some of the cleaner bathrooms amongst US international airports, which is always a positive. TSA usually moves quickly, with Waite times of 3 to 4 minutes being common with global entry/pre-check, and from the looks of things, probably 10 to 15 minutes at most nearly all the time, so long as the federal government is willing to pay its workers, on many visits over the past year. In spite of upgrades, it still has some work to be done to be a truly excellent airport, such as fixing monitors regarding bus, timing and arrivals to get out to the four parking lots (daily witches, indoor, express, which is outdoors, but generally faster, and a couple of dollars a day less, and long-term, which is a few dollars less, but with longer waits for buses and they generally less safe feeling a lot). Another grape is that iron probably 10 flights in the past year, not a single time has the baggage claim number been announced correctly when deboarding the plane, an issue I haven't encountered at other airports.

Who in their right mind intentionally separates themselves from their kids all in the name of one of you getting past the security checkpoint faster? Sorry boo, wasn't raised that way. As for my family and me; we'll remain civilized and stand in the line with the rest of the general population. It's too much going on in the world to purposely introduce chance into a well planned trip. No reason to debate with the TSA agent as I'm not trying to make the evening news. however it is annoying when your coworkers who are watching tell me how to bypass you. Alas, the power of a dollar tree badge has reninded me of my place in the food chain.

I had my dogs with me so I love when everything can go as smooth as possible. The guy that was checking the IDs and boarding passes was nice and was trying to keep the line moving!! He did a great job. Then once we get into the next line to strip down....kidding...just the normal routine shoes, any pocket items, metals items, laptops..etc. Since I have my dogs I have to place everything on the belt and wait for it to go by and then go through the walking metal detector rather than the standing arms up your under arrest stance detector. Any who as soon as I walked through the walking detector I was greeted by a smiling TSA worker that adored my dogs. As many may not know they will wipe both your hands down so they can see what chemicals you may be carrying. So after that they put it in a machine and I have to wait. Once I was cleared, on to getting my stuff. All in all I received a great experience and appreciated all the smiles!!!

It's not the speed - that works pretty good. It's really just the amateur hour behavior and poor management that is on display. Such a random process with CLEAR. My bag was identified for check (is an open I did have a water bottle in my carry-on) but the agent at the end of the process was engaged in a conversation with a random airport employee right in front of me discussing football while my bag just sat. I stepped in uncomfortably close to indicate I wanted the process to move along, she looked at me and said someone will check your bag soon, then when she finished her conversation, of course, she checked my bag. I travel at least once a month or more so I see plenty of airport security points. The BWI check seems to create their own miscellaneous and trivial rules - More than other airports although each checkpoint has its own weird and ridiculous not - rules. My favorite, thus far, was the agent who "would not raise her voice". In the noisy cacophony surrounding the checkpoint she was speaking (I could see her lips moving) but I could not tell what she wanted me to do; she started gesturing somewhat randomly and I thought she possibly had a neurological tick. So when I was close enough to mention I could not hear her she responded with "I will not raise my voice you have to listen closer". This type of authoritarian rule mongering issued by a 30-year-old who looks like she slept in her uniform it's just part of the whole entertainment process of watching the BWI southwest TSA pre operation. Process works and it's generally fast but it is run by a bunch of half-wit morons who make up their own rules as they go and aren't interested in customer service in any way.
