I had to walk the "walkway bridge" to get to the station. The elevator was out of service. There was only 1 escalator that went up. So, if you are disabled, you can't get down into the station from the walkway. This place needs a SERIOUS OVERHAUL. Demolish it and start over!! Just like with all of the new build that surrounds this place, and hides how absolute disgusting it is! Seats to wait at, are old. Floors are dirty. Bathroom was ATROCIOUS! Hand dryers are made for little kids, and you will have to bend down low just to use. There was no soap to even use. Only 1 bathroom sink worked. There was about 1 foot left on the toilet paper roll on the stall that I used. Amtrak signs to signify departures/arrival information is up so high, that you can't even see the board fully if you're in the waiting area Also non of the "automated doors" worked. NONE. Cant imagine what this is like for those disabled, in wheelchairs etc. There is still a little cafe inside, and vending machines. Also machines to buy Amtrak, Marc tickets Outside construction is new to the building of the new Purple line. Honestly, I would rather go to BWI or Union station for my Amtrak needs

I usually bypass the indoor option in excitement of waiting on my train. Amtrak is my fav to travel to and from New York City. The trains are on time 95% of the time, clean cabins, smooth ride, spacious bathrooms, comfy canteen, amazing employees, etc. I have also taken the train as far as Hampton, VA and it was a smooth, scenic, and peaceful ride. I am Amtrak's number 1 fan, and I look forward to many many more experiences riding the rails.

The station almost feels like the "I Love Lucy" episode where the bunk beds are sliding across the room when the train passes by in that episode. Very relaxed and calm staff. Greetings coming and going which is a major plus. The overall cleanliness is amazing. No trash cans overflowing nor empty toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. Soap dispensers are loaded with soap and the sinks have somewhat good water pressure. The overall environment is very relaxed and very calm. The general crowd is very highly disciplined. Mainly adults. Some kids. All very highly disciplined. There's an attached parking lot on both sides of the station as well as bike racks with surveillance. During the night time, The station is very well lit to deter crime which is another plus. Overall A++++++, The best part of the Odenton station is the staff. Cons: the main parking lot is usually full by 7:30am, but there is an overflow lot a very short walk away. Hint: buy your ticket from the kiosk. The conductors often charge a $3 surcharge if you buy onboard.

Keep in mind that there are two parking lots for this station, on the Northbound and Southbound sides of the tracks. Both are fairly small, but if you get there early enough you will be fine. I have noticed that more people park on the street on the north bound side...,my assumption is because it is in a residential area. Things to note: there is no place to buy tickets here, so go somewhere else. My ticket was checked as I was walking on the train. I'm not used to this. In departing the train from DC you must do it from the last three cars. Also, this train seems to run a wee bit late in the mornings....so adjust. Have at it!
