Completely unacceptable and counter to my previous experience with SuperShuttle. I won't ever use them again. I am used to walking out of BWI and reservation in hand step into a shuttle within 5 or 10 minutes. The SuperShuttle app which is quite good makes that happen. When you land and turn on your phone you have a text message with a link to the app which allows you to report your status - Landed, off the plane, have luggage, at the curb. On 28 June that all went as expected. When I got to the curb the SuperShuttle coordinator said it would be at least an hour for a van. I said that was not acceptable and I wanted a refund and would take a cab. She said I had to call their 800 number. I did that where the automaton said the wait time to an agent was an hour and a half. Not okay. I went back to the coordinator who shrieked at me that I was stalking her and she would call the police and then stalked off. I'm uploading a picture of this horrid person. At that point a policeman walked over and I learned that SuperShuttle has lost their contract with BWI due to complaints and poor performance. That is why they are out on the curbs with other pick-ups and drop-offs and not in the lanes with cabs and hotel shuttles. Although painful I was able to get a refund eventually from SuperShuttle. Never again. Not anywhere. For such behavior to be tolerated by a company is a clear indication that they do not deserve my business. Cabs and Uber for me going forward. UPDATE later in the day. You have to give credit to SuperShuttle for watching social media. They reached out and we exchanged email. So far their response is "don't worry we'll take care of it." I have little confidence. When I get a chance I'll post the video of the aberrant "customer service agent" screaming and ranting at me. The challenge for them is that we must have faith in our transportation providers. A few minutes one way or the other can mean the difference between making a flight, a meeting, or even just waking family. Unfortunately we had a very poor experience. Our flight was scheduled to leave out of LAX at 7:20am. I called Super Shuttle the day before to confirm. I got a confirmation we were to be picked up at our hotel at 4:20am. That time came and went. I tried calling the main number but it was outside business hours. I panicked. Finally the dispatch number called at 4:55am saying the driver had technically difficulty and advised me to now find my own way to the airport. I understand and things happen but to strand clients with not so much as a sorry, is inexcusable. Luckily the hotel was able to call a cab that arrived within 10 minutes. When I got back home, I called Super Shuttle who told me they would not charge me for my shuttle. But since I already paid, it would take up to 15 business days to get my refund. This on top of having to pay the cab was unexpected. The company made no effort to apologize or make anything right. Not that I would use them again, but they should have offered a discount on a future ride or an offer to pay part of the cab fare. DO NOT USE this company. read more

If you're thinking using it...don't. One of the worst experiences ever. "Check-in" on my phone and go outside where I'm supposed to speak to an attendant that isn't there. 20 minutes pass and I call their phone number...the CSR says stay where I am and the shuttle will be on the way. 10-15 mins later a shuttle comes but says he's not headed to MD but DC. Finally an attendant shows and says a shuttle will be there in 45 mins. I'm in disbelief and she catches an attitude. As I type this I'm still waiting to hop on a shuttle and it's been well over an hour since I landed. Just make alternate arrangements if possible. Extremely disorganized and the bad customer service was the icing on the cake. Got home 3 hours after my flight and after pricing what my trip would have been on Lyft I would have spent $1 less. Horrible Customer Service. I will NEVER patronize this company again. I was penalized for an issue beyond my control and super shuttle left me stranded at the airport at 10:00 at night. I did everything I could to keep the driver informed of my situation...Due to the severe weather and lightning in the BWI area, the airport wouldn't offload our luggage which caused a delay in me getting to the shuttle. I explained this to the driver and they left without saying a word. I only discovered that I was stranded after sending several messages to the driver with no response. When I called dispatch to see if I could get a new driver, they told me no and to call customer service in the morning. There was no regard for the fact that I had no way of getting home TONIGHT. They are clutch when you need to be at BWI for a 5:30am flight as there's no real viable options from DC before 6am. I checked a few other sources for cheaper prices and found none. I had heard generally positive reviews about supershuttle in the past but never thought I'd need to use their services. Nevertheless, booking was easily done online and the time that they recommended based on my flight time felt a little rushed but I trusted their judgement. My scheduled pickup time was 3:15am and the driver showed up around 3:23am. Meh, I was too tired to complain. He picked up another passenger in DC and a third closer to BWI. I used the SuperShuttle twice. The first time was around June 2017 from BWI to Johns Hopkins University. I arrived around 6am at BWI. I called a representative to confirm my ride and they were helpful to track the van for me. I was the only rider and they still accepted me. The driver was safe and helpful. I was pleased with my service. The second time, I booked my service online to pick me up from my place to the airport for 12/24/17 for around 3 am for my flight at BWI. I was the only rider and they picked me up a bit earlier than my scheduled time. They texted me a confirmation to my phone the day of and when they arrived. The driver helped me load my luggage and dropped me off safely at the airport. I also booked a ride from the airport back to my home on 1/2/18 at 8am. I was also the only rider on this one. They arrived right on time; service was stellar. Note: the pickup at BWI is on the departure level outside door 11. Pick up your luggage and go up one floor and wait on the curb. I got same day text updates and you can check the van location on your phone. I changed my pickup times online (when my flight information changed) and there are no change fees. Easy peasy! When you book online, you can tip your driver in one go (you don't have to worry about awkward tipping in person). I would recommend this ride share service. They do well with confirmations, texting that they are on their way, and helping with luggage. The ride was safe and the drivers were cordial. read more

I'm told a) there's a 1.5 hour wait for my ride to get to airport, b) that they can't confirm even that because they still have to locate a van, and c) that leaving me stranded at 3 am is no big deal, because I pre-paid for a ride, not a time slot (even though they take my flight info). Doesn't even pretend to care. 30 minutes later I call back and get a (very nice) customer service rep who keeps me on the line and calls the dispatcher. Tells me that the first rep didn't even bother to check me in, but she does and confirms there's a van on the way (although still a longer wait). So at least one employee seems to care about her customers. But as far as I can tell, she's the only one. I'm a pretty flexible guy who is used to travel inconveniences and can roll with them. But this is just ridiculous. Update: driver finally showed up nearly 2 hours after I arrived at supershuttle desk. He told me that they didn't even dispatch him until 10 minutes before the pickup. Flew in to Regan International 1/13 (smowing) and had arranged for a ExecuCar. Driver arrives 15 minutes before plane is scheduled to land, and plane sits on tarmac for 15 waiting for a gate. App showed vehicle sitting just off airport. Although my phone number was part of reservation driver clamed not to have it and phone number supplied to me in conformation when to voice mail that was full. App showed reservation canceled shortly after getting off plane not even time to get to baggage claim. Regan airport does not have a Super Shuttle booth only a person sitting in a chair near one of the doors. She gave me a card to dispatch but when called they had to call the dispatcher for that area. I had a HORRIBLE experience, and nearly missed my flight...I see why Supershuttle needs to set the pick up times hours before flight time... The shuttle was supposed to well before my flight departure time, and 15 minutes past the pick up time, I called them. They said that one was on the way. Nothing happened, so I called again, and they said that they needed to talk to dispatch and would call me. I waited another 20 minutes, no call from dispatch, so I called again. Finally after several more calls, I managed to get through to dispatch, who informed me that they didn't have a van in my area. Umm, given that I booked this well in advanced, that shows incredibly poor planning on their part not to plan to have a van in the area. They said that they would try getting me a cab to the airport...no cab came (cabs in Baltimore are another story...). I ended up just barely making my flight. I'm pretty sure that if I hadn't been so persistent with my phone calls, they would have just taken my money - since I booked my pick up on line and already pre-paid for it - but not send a van. One would think it's the dispatcher's job to know where their drivers were in order to dispatch them to pick up clients. Well, clearly that's not the case with Supershuttle! The dispatcher explicitly stated there was no way for him to know where the cars were. He did nothing to remediate the issue besides over me a refund. What good is a refund when I'm stranded? There was no offer for a discount or anything to account for the more than hour and a half I waited. When I finally connected with my driver, he was so gracious... as he explained to me that the dispatcher knew exactly where he was because he had double booked him. He was told to pick up a passenger at 11:33 when I was scheduled for 11:45. From what I gather, Supershuttle is super greedy, leaving their workers overbooked and their passengers waiting. If i could give negative stars, I would. Two trips ago, I opted for SuperShuttle instead of driving and parking myself, or taking a cab or getting a ride to BWI. The driver was late, I nearly missed my flight, and there was no apology or explanation or recompense made at all. Because I pre-paid (both fare and tip), I figured I'd chalk it up to experience and maybe let this one slide as an anomaly. This past trip, though, we booked the van weeks in advance, but not with the gratuity this time. Figured I'd tip based on performance, but I still had to pay for the shuttle in advance. Whatever, no big deal. Much to our chagrin, when we landed and retrieved our luggage, we were then told that it would be at least an hour wait for the next shuttle. "Wait, what? There are two shuttle sitting outside, I can see them from here. Why is there a wait?" The reply: "we're waiting for other passengers for ride-sharing." Okay, idiot, you could have had us home and back in less than an hour. It's appalling to make us wait just to save on a trip or gas or whatever. What's more, if you'd been up front about that when we booked, maybe we would have been okay with that, or maybe we would have booked through another ride service, but we would at least have known ahead of time! Final straw, the representative was flippant about our circumstance. He said he would take a cab instead if he were in our position. Fine, then that's what we'll do going forward. This was my first time using their service out of BWI. I have also used in other cities. The web service around reservations was easy and quick. My printed invoice gave clear directions for steps to take once I landed. My wait time for the shuttle driver was 15 minutes. The main reason I gave the service a three star was the trip to DC. It was around two stars and my trip back to BWI was a four star. My first driver was ill prepared for hitting the road. Trying to enter addresses while driving and the occasional cell phone call. The van itself felt safe, but needed shocks. My return driver was on time and I received an automated call he was waiting for me. He picked up two additional passengers and it was smooth. I was given a 15 minute window for pick up time, at the last minute I received a text that the drive needed to cancel due an emergency and to call the 800 #. I should have checked the reviews first. Me and my fiance flew into BWI from Atlanta, and decided to take the Super Shuttle to DC from the airport. After landing, I go to the door and exit outside. There's no attendant anywhere to be found. So, I figured I'm in the wrong place. After walking around the interior and exterior for at least 30 minutes, I call customer service and they explained that there should be an attendant outside. No attendant. Keep in mind, it's super cold outside. I walk back inside to find one attendant in the corner on her phone as if she's hiding and the other attendant staring off in a gaze in her own zone. I'm thinking why aren't they outside or at least one of them outside for someone to see them. They finally get me a shuttle that arrived 40 minutes after the 30 minutes wasted looking for them. I used super shuttle for a round trip ride during the holidays and expected a few mishaps since I was traveling both ways on holidays (Christmas and New Years Day) both times I was pleasantly surprised. On the way to the airport the shared van arrived perfectly in the middle of the quoted pick up time and the tracking feature is nice on the website as I was able to be out in the parking lot right when they pulled up. The driver was helpful and friendly, and the only reason I've deduced a star is because the check engine light was on in the van.. I feel like when your driving around other people you should take care of any car issues.. I was the last picked up and we were to the airport in no time at all. On my return trip I heard previous horror stories about the wait times but it wasn't bad at all. I arrived to the counter gave my last name and waited for maybe 5 minutes tops before a driver came up grabbed my bags and we headed out. I was surprised that I was given an ExecuCar for the trip home at no additional cost.. There was only myself and one other couple and the trip was pleasant. Again another very nice driver and this time I felt completely safe in the car! Super Shuttle is an airporter service van that I used in 2006. I landed at BWI-TM Airport and was waiting for a ride out to Washington DC. The traffic jams encountered along the way took sometime to get out to DC. Although I've been to the east coast once, sometimes the traffic jams between Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC can get messy! If you or anyone traveling to Maryland, be prepared to know you might anticipate possible traffic jams if you plan on heading out to Virginia or Washington DC. This is the only downside I know of! My sister was in Washington DC, particularly to get an award for her artwork. My mom and sister got the chance to meet with Nancy Pelosi which was an interesting and a memorable experience. Returning to the main point, I rarely use SuperShuttle just because there are many ways to get around. The driver who gave me and my mom a ride out to District of Columbia was very nice. He spoke English and Swahili so this is very interesting to know. Overall, I don't have any bad experiences with Super Shuttle but I must disclose that their services are very good but it can still be better! Will I use Super Shuttle service to give me a lift to the airport? Not any time soon unless it is really necessary to do so! If I don't want to drive myself to the airport or I can't arrange a ride at the last minute, then this is when I might consider using the taxi, limo or airport shuttle service to give me a lift to the airport! read more

The lady who was running the counter seemed like she was new at the job. Things did not seem to be moving. We had reservations but we had to wait for thirty minutes for a shuttle to the Inner Harbor. Unbelievably bad experience. I had a supershuttle scheduled to pick me up in DC between 3:30-3:45am (their recommended time for a 6am flight from BWI). The driver was so late that I gave up and paid $90 for an uber. I called supershuttle twice while I was waiting - both times had to wait, punch through options, wait for an available agent, etc. and was given inaccurate information (that the driver was close). Despite the driver's extreme tardiness - he called at 4:30 from my house, while I was in the uber - no one ever contacted me to explain what was going on. I barely made my flight - ran through the airport and boarded 5 minutes before the doors closed. I absolutely would have missed the flight if I had waited for the supershuttle. And now I get to challenge the credit card charge since they haven't refunded it, as they offered to. At least supershuttle won't be screwing people over for too much longer - absolutely no way a service this awful will stay in business. read more

I've always been grateful for super shuttle as I don't like the stress of driving myself to and from the airport and except for twice in 15 years I've received excellent service! Granted, leaving the airports in the D.C. area is a pain since they foolishly lost their contracts with BWI and DCA making it less than convenient to find and take their shuttles home. Nonetheless, they remain the most reliable and cost efficient gig in town. Today's pickup was an unexpected pleasure as the shared van that picked me up was brand new and sported the new SS design. This was a pleasant surprise as the seating was definitely an upgrade to its former larger, van style with the oddly placed seat belts and air vents. This was a nice SUV with individual seating, which I much preferred. Not sure if this is common, and the entire fleet has been upgraded, but I certainly enjoyed my ride and highly recommend it to others. read more

Shocking customer service and awful waiting around time! TURNS OUT WOULD HAVE BEEN CHEAPER TO JUST GET A LYFT!!! We are from the U.K. On arrival at BWI we called the number on the email as instructed. They sent us to door 3. The office at door 3 was closed so we then had to use the office at door 9 and honestly me and my girlfriend have never been met with such bad attitude! From here on out: 1. We were told we hadn't made a booking even though it was clearly stated in the email our pick up and drop of time/destination 2. We were repeatedly told we "didn't understand" that we hadn't made a booking when we clearly had! 3. The 2 ladies working behind the desk were EXTREMELY RUDE and repeatedly denied any booking had been made and that there was nothing they could do, all of this after a 6 hour overnight flight! They found our booking after making a 30 second call! We then waited 45 minutes for our shuttle to arrive after being told they have a max waiting time of 30 minutes. I had a flight coming into BWI at 10pm on a Monday so booked a trip home to DC. I read all of the small print and downloaded the app. I called 3 times to make sure everything was good to go. When I landed, I picked up my luggage and proceeded to the Super Shuttle desk. The woman working didn't seem to care that I was there at all. She volunteered no information other than "you are checked in, however all the vans are returning and you will be assigned a van in 45 minutes. Have a seat over there". I waited 45 minutes, still nothing on the app or email letting me know I had been assigned. I went back to the desk and there was no woman there anymore. Just a sign that says to call the 800 number and/or check your app. I ended up getting an uber. When I was about 10 minutes from home, the app said I finally was assigned a shuttle. This was about an hour and 45 minutes after I landed. This was by far the worst mistake I ever made trying to figure out how to get back to DC from BWI. Never again. One of the worst experiences for pick-up from the airport. Only two shuttles running to accommodate large family groups some had to be split up and/or wait. To add further insult the young lady dispatching was rude, unprofessional and condescending when it came to how she chose to handle this situation and mocking a parent concerned about her son, who suffers from autism, being rearranged. Recommend avoiding this service if possible. read more
