This review is on the shuttle bus my family took from BWI to Budget car rental. This was on July 4th @11am bus #311.
First of all, I am thankful to have a courtesy service don't get me wrong! Regardless, I've been in customer service and can understand that it's never an easy job dealing with all sorts of different situations and personalities, but to treat everyone the same.. having the mentality that everyone is "not good" is wrong. Maybe the bus driver was having a bad day- I am sorry, but pls don't shout at me on your intercom.
So, when the bus arrived, my family group of 8 loaded onto the bus. Mind you 4 adults (2of which are elderly) and 4 children. We've caught many bus shuttles to car rental locations from airports, as we travel every year and there has always been luggage assistance. There was no help whatsoever. I was carrying my sleeping toddler and helped my husband load all our luggage. I understand that these bus drivers have to get back to the airport to continuously pick up. As I've said bus shuttles are no stranger to us.. it was a very bumpy fast ride, I couldn't brace myself by holding the poles due to braving my sleeping toddler on my lap, so I had to put my feet up across on the edge of the seat to help brace myself (holding pole wasn't enough to try and balance) from the sudden stops and and turns. In no way was I trying to comfort myself or rest my feet on the chair, as I've said they were on the edge bracing myself.
We hear a very muffled voice on the intercom and couldn't understand what was being said.. we assumed the driver was saying we were almost at our destination. Than, he shouted muffled again yelling "hello! Get your feet off the chair!" Someone closer to the front told us what he was saying or we would've never made out a word he said. I felt it was rude because I knew what my intentions were, but for others that were on the bus to have mentioned it was rude (because they could see me struggling to keep my toddler upright when we made turns and quick sudden stops) when we got to our car rental destination as well and that I should file a complaint- here I am! I am a very strong physically fit woman and for me to have had to brace myself that way tells you I needed further support. I shouldn't have to be sorry for trying to protect the safety of myself or my child. I certainly didn't deserve to be shouted at either like I was an idiot trying to disobey rules- which by the way there were no signs posted anywhere. I am far from ignorant! Im sure you have video footage from the bus ride.
Honestly, I'd rather pay a taxi next time- we just thought it'd be easier to travel in one vehicle with 8 people. Thanks for the luggage help too! I can't imagine poor elderly people riding his bus and having to load up their own luggage.
One star for what is suppose to be a courtesy shuttle. read more
