We had to call our designer and adjourn major meetings several times for reinforcement of the construction details.

So, my moms washer died suddenly after 12 years, and we were in need of a new one sooner than…read morelater. I checked out a few stores and product lines and we generally knew what we wanted. We chose Sargent because they carry more top of the line products that some other stores don't. We weren't anticipating getting anything fancy. We had a budget and figured something in the Maytag or Whirlpool family. No front loaders due to a smaller more narrow laundry room that wouldn't work well with the space itself. The showroom here's nice with a great variety of product. They have metered parking up front and a private, free lot right behind. I came here alone at first to view the product to report back to my mom so she could get an idea of what they had. (remember, I also went to Lowe's, Home Depot and ABC Warehouse which I HATE WITH ALL MY BEING.) The nice salesman didn't make me or my mom feel pressured in anyway and allowed us to decide for ourselves what we wanted to do. He told us the features of each machine and has been doing this for many years. My mom ended up getting a speed queen 7000 because it was the nicest one they have. The salesman said they sell the most of the speed queen 3000 model which is pretty basic. All speed queens cost double what the rest of the models they have on the floor, so I thought it was a bit much, but hey, what mom wants, mom gets, right? I like that they also have electrolux as well which is what I would've gotten but I also wasn't paying. You can order online and have it delivered, so that's a bonus. My coworker ordered her new washer the same week I did from Sargent but out of a different (macomb) location. They upgraded her because they didn't have her whirlpool in stock so they gave her the next model up. Anyway, I digress. The washer was delivered and installed that Monday after my mom purchased it on a Saturday. Everything worked great and their prices are competitive. Also, regarding delivery and take away, we did the math and it sort of works out all the same regardless of where you purchase. These guys might run a few bucks cheaper, but not much. Overall I'm satisfied with it and would return in the future for more viewing of products if needed.

Needed a new washer and dryer and turned to Sargent Appliance. Inside is nice with tons of floor…read moremodels to check out. Sales person greeted us and I was worried about the whole sleazy sales guy pitch. But instead our sales person was approachable and no pressure. Told him what we were looking for and we did our research before going in. Confirmed what I read online and he seemed to give solid advice. Printed out the information regarding the washer and dryer and all the fees. Again no pressure. Said they have a ton in stock and whenever we are ready call them up. Purchased over the phone. Delivery was set for a few days later. All moved quickly. Day of the delivery guys gave us a window when they would be there. Friendly and efficient in taking our old appliances and installing our new ones. Value wise, hard to say since the brand we went with doesn't really do deals or anything. But we were happy with the whole experience from sales, to install to enjoying our new appliances!

Update: So we've now had two glass shower doors…read moreinstalled and the results? Absolutely beautiful! I've been there for both measuring and installing. They took their time doing both. For the unaware, it is very exacting and requires precise tolerances for the doors and glass to be hung in such a way that it closes (and stays closed) properly with a consistent gap below and along the side. An aside, our builder knows two people who've used other companies and regretted it. I personally want to thank them for the great work they've done which is unfortunately rare in todays world.

The dragged on story after a year and half…read more The shower as a product is beautiful, installation was kinda smooth, had to fix with some sealant so it wouldn't leak for not being sealed completely after installation. Compared to other shower enclosure installers they weren't backed up, which worked out for me at the time, but I guess that's a bad sign. Had to call for warranty repair once before and they were out in a quickly matter. The repair guy was friendly and was out of the house in no time. So why the one star for not that bad experience for a year and half since it got installed? Customer service... the customer service when we called last week is very interesting. Interesting as in how it reminds me all past customer service experiences are far superior. The Shower Door Store sadly will drag on an issue till it's so dead. Going as far as saying, "We won't apologize till you take down the review on our Facebook." After 49 minutes of another interesting talk with Mike the owner, it is clear that I don't want to spend money to fix the broken shower door with them. The customer service at The Shower Door Store will usually complain and vent to you, blaming you or not believing what you say. I don't care if you believe me. The whole point with customer service is to make sure the problem doesn't escalate. A good customer service rep would try to make sure you're happy while listening to you and apologizing for the experience you had, no matter if it's the customer's fault. After kindly listening and making sure everything is alright with the customer, usually the rep will problem solve with the customer. Yet The Shower Door Store does the opposite, they push back the customer to a corner and making the customer go into defensive mode because of the blaming from the rep. I knew the door wasn't covered under warranty to replace it. I knew I would have to spend money to replace it. I was expecting to spend that money with The Shower Door Store, maybe even the downstairs renovations would have been great business for them too. But after the whole experience I am refusing to be a customer of The Shower Door Store.
