Let me start by saying I have nothing to compare this to as this is the first time we have ever had windows installed. However, I had the following hopes and expectations: that there would be very tidy trim work - we had all the trim and aprons replaced although there is the option to reuse your trim; that they insulate around the frames - we had a pretty good suspicion that the original builder had done a very poor job on that; and that they would do the windows one at a time so our house wasn't freezing and the cats wouldn't escape.
We had 4 companies come out to measure, show us windows, and give us bids for 10 windows: Anderson Renewal, Curb Appeal (ProVia), J&E Installation (Sunrise) and another company that tried to sell us gutters and insulation so I blocked them from my memory. We went to a showroom to see the window we thought we liked the best and it looked really cheap and terrible so we Googled places nearby that had our second choice window (Sunrise) and found Air-Tite. We went and looked at the windows and the people seemed really nice and down-to-earth (it's a husband and wife and their son) and so we hired them.
When they came to do the windows (delayed somewhat by the Polar Vortex) they met and exceeded my expectations. They put down rugs and runners to keep from trucking things on the floor, cleaned up with a shop vac, and were obviously a cohesive team that knew how to work together to get the job done. Everything was super tidy and nice, the windows look great, and we couldn't be happier. Two things: there will be dust, no matter how tidy they are and 2) the smell of caulk is permeating our house and will hopefully dissipate soon because it is heinous.
TL;DR: Sunrise windows are a really nice mid-range vinyl window option and Air-Tite is a fantastic company that does fast, tidy work. 10/10 would recommend. read more
