Every dish we tried was delicious, and it's easily some of the best Ethiopian food I've had. That said, be prepared to take your time. The ordering and food preparation process is very slow, and during our visit the "servers" were literal children. We ended up spending close to two hours there, with most of that time waiting for the food to come out. If you're in a rush, this probably isn't the spot. But if you're willing to slow down and enjoy a relaxed, unhurried meal, the quality of the food makes the wait worthwhile. I'd absolutely come back, just with patience and no tight schedule.

I ordered the watermelon fries, the Little Taste with…read morebeef tibs, and selected the chef's choice for my six sides -- which included a fresh salad, chickpeas, yellow lentils, yellow rice, greens, and a veggie medley. I also added the cheesecake sambusa. Everything was outstanding. The watermelon fries were such a refreshing start. The beef tibs were deeply flavorful and tender. Each of the sides had such great flavor profiles! I first tried Ethiopian food about 12 years ago at a place in Portland, Oregon, and I've been wanting it again ever since. When I saw this restaurant open here in Valdosta, I was genuinely excited to finally have it again -- and now I wish I had gone sooner because I've clearly been missing out. Even as a pickup order, the service stood out the staff was personable and inviting. Everything was carefully packed, warm, and clearly made with care. And the cheesecake sambusa? Unreal, the perfect way to finish the meal. I can't wait to go back and make this a regular spot for my family and me.

I went here Labor Day weekend on Sunday and it was actually not busy at all, nobody was out so I got in line and quickly got my food and headed to my daughters to lay out the food for the kiddos. I'll see if I can get a fried egg next time since I like a fried egg with grits, but this was all really good for 30 bucks. I got a ton of food. If any drawback, the pacing got very slow while awaiting main courses to arrive. Granted, we had at least a dozen folks needing food all at once so that's a challenge anywhere. We didn't start until 7:30 but when it's going on 9:30 pm before food arrives, it feels long. But again, this was a good experience overall & for a locally upscale restaurant, the prices were reasonable, especially considering you got two sides PLUS a salad with your entree (& significantly below the "upscale dinner" we'd had in downtown Savannah the night before). I got a spinach salad with my fried shrimp, squash casserole & Gouda grits. I splurged to add a scallop for $4.50. It was fine but probably wouldn't do next time. A passable cocktail to start & good iced tea with dinner. There were appetizers for the table that were fine but not remembering specifics. Try it.

We were greeted with a smile the second we walked in, and our server was friendly and attentive the whole time. A+ for vibes and service. Now, the food... oof. We started with the appetizer special of the night, which, shockingly, was the best thing we had--and it was aggressively mid. Everything that followed? Two thumbs down. The peas I ordered as a side; I swear were marinated in red onion slivers for several decades. Even after picking out all the visible onion, (as shown in pictures) it still tasted like Shrek's bathwater. If I had ordered this on a first date, I would've just gone home to save us both the trauma of onion breath. There's no way a single person has ever eaten this dish and said, "Wow, that was delightful." I'd actually pay money to see the facial expressions of anyone taking a bite. My partner's mashed potatoes? So dry and dense I could've thrown them at a wall and they'd stick. Come back the next morning and they'd be holding up drywall. Not a single drop of moisture in sight. I asked for crushed red pepper for my flatbread (thinking maybe it could be saved). No - No pepper flakes. Apparently none of their flatbreads are allowed joy or spice. Even if they did have red pepper, I don't think it would've saved it. Best thing we had all night? My partner's chicken. And even that was dry. So, that says a lot. Final verdict: come here for a drink and a snack before going somewhere else for the actual meal. It's a great pregame spot, but if you're hungry-hungry, keep walking.

The wings, which I asked for the hot sauce to be served on the side with ranch dressing, were just okay for me, although true hot wing fans would probably enjoy them more. The server and host were both very friendly and provided great service. Overall, it was a decent experience, but I'd probably try a different restaurant the next time I'm in Valdosta.

It's very family friendly, but a little pricey for the quality. The calamari was dry and overcooked, and the sweet potato fries were just OK. The ribeye cheesesteak however, was surprisingly good. By the time the sandwich was served the calamari was long gone even though we had explained it intended to be the meal for hubby since he wasn't very hungry. Overall, there were some positives but the food was definitely inconsistent. While it is clearly a popular spot, our experience doesn't make us eager to return.
