Augie's Café in Valdosta was a nice café for a lovely Sunday brunch. The atmosphere was appealing and quiet. There was a nice flow of people in and out of the restaurant. Its atmosphere is nice and quiet with background music. The wait staff was friendly, professional, attentive and made you feel at home. It was a nice touch to see "The Jefferson" playing on the television; that brought back memories. I immediately got a table and the menu provided enough options for anyone's taste buds. I had the Omelet which came with honey glazed biscuits and just had to have a Red Velvet waffle that was lightly-dusted with powdered sugar and drizzled with cream cheese. The omelet was plentiful and filling. The waffle was moist and delish. It did have the familiar Red Velvet flavor which checked a box for me. They have a lot to choose from on their menu and I'm looking forward to visiting them in the future. I recommend giving them a try, I'm glad I did; it was a positive customer experience. read more

The skinny: super friendly server, slow service, good food, wouldn't order coffee again, automatic 20% gratuity added to every check. Walked in on a Sunday morning ready for coffee and breakfast. It probably took about 15-20 minutes before we were able to order coffee. We ordered honey flat whites, but they came in tall to-go cups with milk to the brim. It really wasn't a flat white, it was maybe a latte? As for food, we got the California love (breakfast burrito) and the ready or not (eggs your way, protein of choice, biscuit, potatoes). I got my eggs over medium and chicken sausage. The biscuit was drenched in honey which was delicious. The potatoes were ok, but I liked my eggs and chicken sausage. The burrito was big! It was really like two burrito halves, so it was plenty of food. I took a bite and it was pretty good. Overall, seemed like a fun brunch place for mimosas and vibes with friends. I was genuinely excited to try Angie's Cafe, but unfortunately this experience completely changed my mind about coming back. We ordered an iced matcha with extra matcha powder and an omelette with extra tomatoes and no peppers. After being seated, we were not given any silverware... and none was ever brought out, even after waiting. The iced matcha was another disappointment. I asked for extra matcha powder, but it came out almost white, basically sweet milk with little to no matcha flavor. It definitely did not reflect what was ordered. We then waited over 40 minutes for a simple omelette, while watching several tables who came in after us receive their food first. When the omelette finally arrived, it had a large amount of peppers (which we specifically asked to leave off) and barely any tomatoes, even though we requested extra. I really wanted to like this place, but between the long wait, incorrect order, lack of attention to detail, and disappointing quality, I won't be returning. Oh, just got the check. THEY ADDED 20% GRATUITY. What is this, there was only 2 of us..? EDIT: I feel like I should also add how, from the moment we walked in, the service felt off. I think this restaurant has a fun concept with some great menu items. Servers were friendly but they were all over the place. It seems like there is a need for more organization from the kitchen and wait staff. The floor offers a fun thematic experiences. The dishes are named after Black culture themes. The music is fun and has an old school presence. You can see episodes of "Sanford and Son" or "The Jeffersons" on the TVs. We went based on the fact that they had a vegan potato breakfast bowl. Breakfast is the one meal that is so hard to find vegan options for, so we were happy to find this. This was one of the best dining experiences in many years. We were welcomed in a friendly and warm manner and seated promptly. We couldn't find the potato bowl on the menu and found out it was on the happy hour menu. They had two sizes, regular and happy hour. We got one of each. The manager came over to our table and interacted with us and said lots of people visit while driving through Valdosta. We mentioned the potato bowl and his eyes lit up and he went to the kitchen to let the chef know orders were incoming. He was clearly proud to have this option. Our server officially took our order and told us about the two sizes, which was nice because the smaller size was good for me. After the bowls arrived, the chef came out twice to talk to us, and ask questions about potential vegan dishes for the future. Overall, the service went above and beyond, and was genuine and interested in our needs. The interior was tastefully decorated with lots of seating. While we were there, Sanford and Sons was playing on the TV, so that was a fun bit of nostalgia. read more

Before we received our food my wife said we were coming back no matter how the food tastes lol. Thankfully, the food was as enjoyable as the atmosphere. Our server was great. Came here for brunch on a Monday... not busy at all! The staff was so friendly and even the cook came out and asked us how the food was. We tried to do the bottomless mimosas but they weren't doing it at that moment so we just did peach mimosas by the glass and they were pretty strong and good. I ordered the catfish and grits with bacon on the side... DELICIOUS! My friend ordered the steak and eggs and grits. She said her steak was cooked to perfection. The food here is excellent and worth the cost. However, a 20% tip was added as part of the bill. I was dining alone and would normally leave more than 20%. However, that option is gone for the server when the tip is forced. I understand assessing 20% tip for larger groups, but not one or two people. I would not recommend at all. We live out of town, but visit Valdosta frequently. We wanted to try something new and the atmosphere seemed nice. They had music playing and there was a good amount of people there, but several open tables that could sit 4. We were a party of 6 ( 3 adults and 3 kids). While there was no hostess, one of the waiters said they were waiting on a party to leave. We weren't given a wait time, but that was fine. After 15 minutes of watching other smaller parties being seated, I asked how much longer it would be. The same waitress said she didn't know and that it was whenever they left. I asked if we could just put 2 tables together and her reply was, "You guys can sit at different tables, but we're not going to put them together." We felt very dismissed and they did not seem accommodating at all. Needless to say we took our money to Texas Roadhouse and everyone there were lovely And the food was great. read more

I have been here to eat twice. The first time I came they were closed but the owners allowed me to come inside and gave me a laminated menu that I keep in my trunk. Today I almost went to Cracker Barrel until I thought about Augie's. I have never had a breakfast anywhere that tasted as good as Augie's they give a selection of chicken and turkey for those who don't eat pork. Visited this cafe for breakfast during my visit to Valdosta. The cafe is beautifully decorated, very hip, however we didn't have such a great experience. The food is delicious but they are very disorganized and slow. There is o barrister ir bartender to handle the coffee bar and the bar drinks. We waited for 20 minutes for coffee and then our food did not come out at the same time. My niece and sister finished their meals before they brought our food. This place has amazing potential -I can totally envision it but the owners need managerial staff that are totally committed to service. Our very pleasant server explained that they were short staff and if this happens there needs to be a contingency plan. When you have 1chef, then serve a limited menu and let the patrons know that there is an unusual wait time because of the short-holiday staff and then provide a free beverage while they wait-whether it's tea, coffee or a soda. Make sure it's delivered immediately to make the wait pleasant. There didn't seem to be any concise directions from a manager which is rule number 1for a smooth front of the house operation. With some managerial tweeting this place can be a GOLD-MINE.... The bathrooms need to be monitored because there was no soap and the mirror was displaced. You guys do have great food and a fantastic menu-so points given for that. read more

My salmon and grits looked sortve what I'd describe as what pigs would eat, his food looked great and he enjoyed it.. We ordered an orange juice and chocolate milk. We were expecting to spend around 35 for the both of us... the bill ended up being 50 dollars. Our original meal was 39 dollars which is fine... but why is there an automatic 20% gratuity on a party of 2? We saw a great review of this new restaurant on FB. It's hard to find good breakfast places in Valdosta, so we were exited to try it on Saturday, July 12. We hope this feedback helps. Food: for a basic egg-potato-sausage plate, the eggs were overdone (we asked for over medium) and much too salty. for the French Toast, the toast was great but there was minimal fruit (two chopped strawberries), which seemed frugal for $14. For both dishes, they were garnished with wilted baby lettuce, which was a waste. Service: was fine; it took a while to get more coffee, but the coffee was great. Also, we were surprised to be charged $1.50 for the milk for our coffee, and the 20% gratuity that was automatically included is excessive, especially when we were asked if we wanted to leave a tip beyond that. The server couldn't explain about the gratuity. We realize that restaurants have struggled and prices have risen since the pandemic, but being forced to pay a gratuity no matter the service and for less than stellar food is dissapointing. read more

My friend and I had lunch here today. I cannot think of a way to describe how wonderful it was. Delicious does not say enough. I had no idea this restaurant existed until today, but it has become my favorite with just one meal. The Frappuccino I ordered was outstanding, and I would buy it again. The dish I had was called " Tell it to My Heart" with salmon added. (Fettuccine Veggie Alfredo with Spinach, Broccoli, Mushrooms, & Mixed Peppers, Topped with Parmesan Cheese* & Tomatoes, Add Chicken +4 , Steak+13, or Shrimp*+8, Salmon* +10) I can't describe the wonderful blend of flavors that was in that dish. It was actually better than anything I've ever had at the Olive Garden. My friend felt the same way about her sandwich. I encourage everyone to give it a try. My family and I tried to visit this new establishment, excited for a new business in our city, however we were not able to eat here. We were turned away and asked if we could come at later time because there was a 30min wait and we had littles ones... that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. We've visited countless restaurants in major cities and have never come across such a statement. We have 3 littles ones but it's an inconvenience to wait 30mins?
