This was a nice group meal during a work trip. Food was good, we had a semi-private partitioned area for our large group & our server took good care of us over the hours we were there. If any drawback, the pacing got very slow while awaiting main courses to arrive. Granted, we had at least a dozen folks needing food all at once so that's a challenge anywhere. We didn't start until 7:30 but when it's going on 9:30 pm before food arrives, it feels long. But again, this was a good experience overall & for a locally upscale restaurant, the prices were reasonable, especially considering you got two sides PLUS a salad with your entree (& significantly below the "upscale dinner" we'd had in downtown Savannah the night before). I got a spinach salad with my fried shrimp, squash casserole & Gouda grits. I splurged to add a scallop for $4.50. It was fine but probably wouldn't do next time. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Except, we didn't dress to the nines as most Southerners did when we visited 306 North. The place was packed and you need to make a reservation ahead of time. The place was somewhat romantic and each table that day was adorned with red roses in a small vase. Travelled to Valdosta area for work and it was nice to splurge a bit on dinner, especially if the company was putting it on the tab. It was a treat having a cocktail and when the entree finally arrived, I was definitely excited. I got the Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon with Dill Mustard Sauce. For the side, I opted for the Squash and Gruyère Soufflé. The soufflé really looked and ate more like a gratin. The salmon was a little overdone to my liking but the dill sauce was nice. Had a wonderful birthday dinner here! To start I had the jade martini which was good and came in a nicely chilled glass. It was a little on the sweet side for me, but it was still tasty and honestly not surprising based on the menu description. My partner got the berry smash drink which was fantastic and something I would absolutely reorder. Along with our drinks we got the fish bites as an appetizer which were fairly unique and very tasty. The sweet chili sauce was delicious and the fish tasted fresh. For our meals we both had the duck with various sides, including the creamed potatoes, squash soufflé, asparagus and grits. Everything was fantastic and honestly the perfect portion size to be full but not uncomfortably so. The restaurant was a cute little spot that filled up quickly after we arrived right at open. The outside patio looked like a nice space as well. The service was nice and personable, though a little on the slow side; however, when I'm at a special dinner I'm not typically in a rush for anything. Overall, this is a great option in the area for a nicer dinner. While the pricing is a bit on the high side, the dishes they prepare are unique, fresh, and tasty. I went to this restaurant with five other coworkers and we were seated outside in the patio area. The waitress took our drink orders and brought them back and then we ordered our appetizers. After one hour and no check back from the waitress or any signs of our food being delivered to us we decided to leave. While waiting for my bill to be delivered to me, the two ladies behind me in line also had the same experience the last time they came there but we're giving it a second chance. However, they ended up leaving as well after hearing my story. It just a shame that such a great restaurant has such poor service. We won't be back. read more

It was our first at 306 North--one of the fancy restaurants in Valdosta. Reservation was easy but according to the waitress the seats are pre-determined. We were sat in the middle of the entire room and we wanted to switch but we couldn't. The server Jade was very nice and attentive. It's southern food with some Asian fusion in it. I had the duck breast and it was very good. The portion size was great for the entree and the sides. Compare to what you have to pay in Atlanta, I would definitely recommend someone to come try out this establishment. The drinks were good. I had the espresso martini, it was very good. The restaurant had good ambiance. You enter and walk right to the bar while the dining is to the left. I and a friend were seated at the way back towards the kitchen and possibly because we had t-shirts, shorts and slippers. As for food, I got the Chicken Piccata and upgraded the salad to a she-crab soup for $2 more. She-crab soup was awesome, tasted really good and had good texture. So good that I wasn't able to take a picture. Chicken Piccata was terrible. Small piece of chicken that was smaller than my fist. Chicken was overcooked because really dry and tough. Gravy was almost non-existent as it seemed like they over reduced it. It wasn't as creamy as a Piccata should be. Had the mushrooms, they were also overcooked and dry. The mashed potatoes was the star of the dish...very creamy, buttery and tasty. For $22, this dish was not worth it. I was still very hungry and went to B-dubs after. A previous Yelp pic with 2-3 pieces of chicken was deceiving because I got one...I even mentioned it and they said it weighed what it was supposed to be...think 6 ounces? So don't get this dish if you go and are hungry or are a huge protein eater. Sadly, will not return. read more

My wife (gluten allergy) consulted the kitchen as they don't have a gluten free menu and decided on a modified chicken dish (their recommendation) I ordered the salmon. When the chicken came, it looked like a boiled breast without seasoning . Just boiled chicken. It was rubbery - seriously - like nothing I can remember getting at a restaurant. How that made it out of the kitchen like that I have no idea. They were understanding and took it back as soon as we asked. My salmon was very good. Cooked perfectly. The sides were also good . Service was good and timely. They replaced the chicken with another salmon and it was also very good. I think there was a mistake in the kitchen which somehow made it past whomever was quality checking. Because they let that out of the kitchen like that I had to give only three stars. I'd be ok trying it again - so I suggest giving it a try - just be careful about ordering . read more

If I could get this place six stars I would ! Seriously the best tuna tataki have ever had. Perfectly prepared and the sauce was exquisite. They absolutely did not drown the tuna in sauce like so many places do. Lots of beautiful salads to choose from, all with fresh ingredients. And for the vegetarian's out there perfectly prepared vegetarian burger. Don't miss out on the deviled eggs some of the best I've had. Taking my daughter out to dinner while I was traveling through town and we wanted to try something different. I started rewarding good grades with dinners when my kids were young and I owed her a dinner for her grades at VSU. THE ATMOSPHERE IS AMAZING. (Perfect for a date night or a special birthday dinner). The setting was nice, with a TV in the bar area, but quiet back in the dining rooms. One room is very private, with a circular shape and there is also an outside seating area that would seem perfect on summer nights. White table cloths, linen napkins and fresh flowers on each table. The hostess stayed and chatted with us for a while telling us her favorite dishes on the menu and done sides we might like. We started with an order of hummus which was amazing. Then we moved to salads, which were fresh and prepared exactly as specified. . Then to the entrees. My daughter chose the duck breast and sweet potatoes and since she is DF, they made sure to cook it without butter. The waiter had to go back three or four times to get it straight, but it was all worth it in the end. I tried the filet, which was so well prepared I thought about cutting it with my fork. While the texture was amazing, the flavor was not quite as good, but I still enjoyed the fish. Parking is on the street and an adjacent lot. Service was pleasant, but really lacking. Having to constantly flag someone down for refills, missed sides or a to go meal just kind of interrupted the flow of our good time? The pork breading was great but the pork was over cooked. The fried okra was a bit slimy and the grilled sweet potato still had a tough skin attached.
