I have always enjoyed shopping and a kitchen store offers so much (if that's your kind of thing). For Christmas I had purchased a gift cert for a friend of mine who also enjoys experimenting in the kitchen. I chose for us the cooking class on dumplings, because who doesn't enjoy dumplings?
Our teacher was knowledgeable of the different offerings of the dumpling domain. Our class included perogies, pupusa's, spanakopita, and last but not least an Asian dumpling. While the class was informative, this was an instance of "too many cooks spoil the broth." It is very difficult for 20 some people to rotate from station to station to make the different dumplings and each turn out a professional edible bite. For the most part, the food gave the essence of what it could be. I expect if anyone found the recipes worthwhile they can of course practice at home and hopefully produce an exceptional product.
My disappointment was that they give you a 10% discount for any purchases, but alas, the store itself closes when you (the students) sit down to start the class. You get a couple of days after the course to take advantage of this discount.
