Most people know me by sight and name and I have my own wonderful dedicated sales person who takes such good care of me! Teressa is fun, kind, friendly, helpful, efficient and knowledgeable! I especially LOVE all the choices that they have in their huge store! Their selections change regularly as they bring in new materials and eye candy for me to use on projects. Also this should be noted, they have tile made from all over the world, many of the vendors are from Europe. Most other places locally only carry materials from China, which as you may imagine are just not on the same quality level. If I had one criticism it would be this, they hard working ladies are assigned to professional accounts like mine. They are not as successful helping individual people walking in off the street who have no idea what is happening. Plus with the thousands of choices and millions of combinations available in here, it can feel very daunting and overwhelming for people. We began our bathroom project at a discount place north of Scotia. We were not at all happy with the tile selections. When we finally picked a designer at a local plumbing place, I did not care for their tile choices either. Finally I went to Best Tile, a place I had happily used in the past, and sighed with relief at the great choices available to me there. It only got better when Rose, one of the designers at the Schenectady store, came to my aid. Rose was warm, thoughtful and a huge help. Her design suggestions stayed within my budget and she worked with me on so many levels to keep me on course and focused on my ideas for this job. Thanks Rose! read more

We came to best tile to obtain materials for a complete renovation of our bathroom. Heather met with us, listened to our plan and proposed design, and then advised us on which materials to get and what would or wouldn't work to attain our goal. She explained the nuances of each product in a deliberate manner making it easy for us to understand. Her suggestions were spot on. She kept us informed when the product would be ready, so we could plan the installation. She and the company met or exceeded all of the delivery dates. A great selection to choose from. Staff is friendly and helpful. Be careful when ordering. We gave them our measurements for a small bathroom and ended up with 2 1/2 extra boxes of tile that were non-refundable and not enough grout. Thankfully, our contractor was able to shift some things around while we waited for the grout. read more

Delia at Best Tile Schenectady was great to work with. However; when the tile was installed in our new-build home, we could see grout haze and pieces of grout stuck to the tile everywhere. The installer came out to see it, and said he tried to remove the grout but couldn't. Our brand new floor has grout all over it and Best Tile is not standing by their product or the work of the installer they contract out. I wouldn't recommend using Best Tile Schenectady with this kind of customer service. We now have to pay a professional to come and clean our new tiles--unless Best tile is willing to rectify this problem for us? read more

My great experience started with how I was greeted, professionally but warm when I entered the showroom. I was paired with the designer Alyssa and we instantly connected. She did an awesome job of helping me with my decision of going with the quartzite (natural stone). I had done my research as to the differences between granite, quartzite and the manufactured quartz, the quartzite totally fits my home and my kitchen. She gave me some time to view different backsplashes and the one I kept returning to was one she told me she knew it was the one I would pick, she had quickly learned my tastes, similar to hers. She introduced me to Carmine who showed me the Taj Mahal quartzite he had and it was perfect. He showed me the imperfections(small) but as I told him this piece of quartz came from the earth, was not manufactured, show me a perfect tree that comes from the earth! His crew of Marvin and Paul who did the template and then a lot of the work with Carmine for the install were all very knowledgeable and helpful, answering all my questions. The install went extremely well. I was having difficulty getting someone to do the install of the backsplash, no one was returning my call (it is done outside of Capital Stone) and then Alyssa gave me a name, Rick, who responded and then did an outstanding job of the install of the backsplash. I did have some concern about the sealing of the quartzite but as I saw it applied when the countertop was installed I saw it was very easy. Then Alyssa told me they have a cleaner that is also a sealer and done deal! I could not be happier with my entire experience with Capital Stone, Rich who installed the backsplash and the entire staff I had the privilege of working with. My kitchen has entire different look, more open, lighter, more like a working kitchen which is important to me as I love to cook and bake my bread! read more

Pros- Amazing tile selection that never seems to end. Cons- Poor service at best (in store). Wifey was here on a weekday and although there were multiple people in the store just working on computers, she had to get someone's attention to get helped. I it is true they have a great tile selection. That is where it stops though! The customer service is atrocious. We bought stone tile and after a four week delay it finally showed up. The boxes the tiles came in were beat up. We opened the boxes to check them and found that there were multiple cracks through out the sheets. My wife approached one of the floor managers about the cracks and she claimed they were fissures. They clearly were cracks. She continued be spend the next 20 minutes being condescending about the cracks and pricing issues. They were horrible to work and we would absolutely not recommend them. read more

Working with Christina (tile) and Carmine (granite) was truly a pleasure! We just installed our second kitchen in 5 years (we moved) and I wish I went to Best Tile for the first. Best Tile's customer service is outstanding. Prices are the same as competitors, but their free design services, timeliness, responsiveness and patience far exceeds the competition. My first kitchen, the granite installation was promised in 3 weeks and took 6. Best Tile was honest and estimated 2-4 weeks for installation, it was installed in one week. First, it's a tile store so 3 stars is about as good as it gets! Their selection is outstanding and the "back room" can be a great resource. Re: customer service It's funny, when I first did business at Best Tile, I had the same response of many here; to wit, meh. But the reality is that this is a showroom; nobody is here to "sell" you anything and there is no pressure. Instead, you are welcome to browse in peace. For our project of new granite kitchen countertops, we could not have had a better experience. Elena at Best Tile and Carmine at Capital Stone, who actually did the measurements and oversaw the countertop installation, were very responsive and knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. Once we had selected the specific granite, they were very prompt in taking the actual countertop measurements and in performing the installation. My husband and I recently completed our master bathroom project and were extremely pleased with not only the tile selection but the customer service. We made an appointment with one of the designers and she helped us to create an amazing bathroom that we could have never done on our own! We've been in this store a couple times. I liked the fact that they had a rating on the back of the tile for hardness and explained this when u entered, but then I couldn't find the rating marked on any of the tile we looked at. Pricing was marked and that is what they stuck to. Issue is there competitors will work with you when purchasing over $7,000 worth of marble. The service was accommodating at best, but each time there felt like we were bothering the sales staff. So took my money elsewhere and not only got a great deal more tile for the money at a nearby competitor, I felt like I got helped and had options there. I never felt that way at this store. Sad that local businesses want you to shop local, but then blow it at the simple stuff like customer service. At some point, you have to realize you aren't the only place in town and need to give customers a reason to come to you. read more

Absolutely agree with first review. Lots of tile choices but the customer service is the worst. My husband and I asked for help, the person at the desk said someone would help us and we waited over 45 minutes to be helped while we tried to figure out what we needed on our own. There were multiple sales people on computers or just putting away samples while ignoring us completely. We never did get any service and finally left. Not the least expensive prices, either, so if you want good service try Top Tile, nice selection and much better customer service. read more

I would NEVER recommend BT. Yes, the quality of the product was fine, and I was given very good advice in selecting the tile, and the shower looks great. However, I was sold 2 boxes more tile than I needed. My measurements (length and width ) were accurate, and I certainly know the formula for calculating area. When I phoned the store, I was told that I should have examined my purchase before leaving the warehouse, no returns. Which is to say, don't trust to any kind of professional expertise. I did come to some acceptable (but not fair) compromise with the manager. When I returned the tiles, a salesperson said, "We need to look at these to make sure they're not damaged." How insulting is that? Stay away from BT. read more

We had an amazing floor tile; went back to order more for another room and the tile was discontinued. I wish they had a way to query their database when a tile is about to discontinue and send the purchaser an email saying "hey, before it goes out of stock do you want to buy more?" We would have been there in a minute. They still have it displayed in the showroom which is really frustrating. The customer service appears to be much better than our first time to the showroom. A receptionist at the front is helpful, if you know what you want they will help you immediately. I did notice that some customers are treated better than others. Maybe they are contractors? I didn't think the selection was as great as seen here. I find myself tooling the internet looking for something different. read more

I am remodeling my bathroom. I didn't know what I wanted so I was apprehensive to even go looking. My contractor and friends helped a lot, but when we went to Best Tile, Maegan was the Design Consultant who assisted us. Wow, she was great. Friendly, courteous and within ten minutes, she figured out what my style was and brought me an array to choose from. I left there knowing what I wanted! So helpful. read more
