We are thrilled with the superb work of Kitchen and Bath World from beginning to end. We renovated two bathrooms in quite different styles. The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. ***Update 1/4/22: Having used the Kitchen & Bath spaces now for 8 months, I feel silly for complaining about the caulk and yard damage. It is much worse. With normal everyday use, the faucet & drain black finishes have worn off, the bathroom towel bar and toilet paper have fallen off the wall. Some trim along the cabinets was not even attached, came off in my hand while cleaning. Huge gap of space between the counter and the wall that was only partially filled with grout. The posts that hold up the granite countertop on the kitchen island are not attached at all, they easily move around and can slide out, great for cleaning I guess. I find a new discovery everyday and have to constantly make small repairs to the spaces that were remodeled.*** read more

We are so pleased that we had Kitchen and Bath World upgrade our kitchen.  Sara had so many great ideas, samples, and suggestions to help us pick exactly what we wanted.  Starting out with the showroom, we saw countless combinations that we could consider.  Sara then took our original ideas and enhanced them greatly, using software to keep showing us better and better combinations with a minor change on the computer.   Sara's crew, Cliff and Matt, were true professionals.  They  were very careful, respectful, hardworking and very talented.  Before each work day, they would lay out sheets to keep our area clean and make  sure they left everything just as clean when they left for the day.   We would definitely recommend Sara, Cliff and Matt to anyone, and we are reminded of their work as we enjoy our kitchen each day. I specifically highly recommend Emily LaRose at KBW. I am not particularly visionary, but what I like when I see it, as well as appreciate artistic design and beauty. Emily came into my kitchen, that needed much help, and was able to see it as a blank slate of design opportunity. She was completely up to the task and excited to have it as a clean slate. I was blown away by the renderings and was not expecting that gut reaction. We have had our kitchen now for 3 years and it designed SO amazing that I still feel amazing to be in the space. The entire design was not only beautiful but highly functional. I would not change a single drawer or cabinet. Some people are lucky enough to do as a profession what they have gifts in, Emily is one of them. I can't wait to work with her again. At the end of the day, its not just a kitchen, its where we are a family, now we all congragate to this space. read more

Full kitchen remodel. what could go wrong DID. 2 week start delay and downhill from there. Each day there was some sort of issue: worker no show, install done wrong, window not centered...and sooo much more. Was told there was "a team" ready for this job, that's BS. Experienced a gas leak for a few days we were unaware of due to floor installer knocked a pipe, thank goodness we're still here! Tile guy got snarky because I wanted to look at the backsplash he was grouting, called me a Karen! that did not sit well and reported it. I did find some missing spots too! I can supply a list of mishaps, pics and correspondence that transpired over these MANY unsettling weeks of work. Communication between workers is not there, designer should have been more hands on; I had to send emails almost every day with a problem. At first we just stood back and let the work happen, but at the end of each day my husband and I would look at everything (trying to envision the end result) and found many issues. These were strictly installer issues and not us knitpicking. We did have some reorders which is understandable. There was a plan on paper to follow which did not happen. I could go on and on but my point is I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM. I don't know if they overbooked themselves but paying attention to detail did not happen. I wonder if they tell the next client "this has never happened" like they told us!* read more

Let me start by saying I have never ever written a bad review about anyone or anything. However, the customer service with Kitchen & Bath World is so horrendous that I feel the need to. When we first started working with KBW, we worked with Emily. She was amazing! She designed us a beautiful kitchen!! She always got back to us if we had any questions. She truly was great to work with. I also have to say that all of the gentleman that came to install the cabinets/counters were also wonderful. Very professional! A little less than a year after our cabinets were installed we noticed two of them were cracking already! I sent Emily an email to see what we can do. I never heard back so I ended up texting her (I had her number from when she designed the kitchen). Emily told me that she was no longer working with KBW and she referred me to Illiana. I emailed her and told her the issue. She asked me to email over pictures of the cabinets and she would take care of it. A few weeks went by and I heard nothing back so I emailed her again. She wrote back and asked for pictures again. I sent them again. Several weeks went by and again.... No communication. After emailing her and calling her and no response I sent an email to the main KBW email. I was then told Illiana no longer worked there and Carmesha would be available to help me. Again... emailed with Carmesha a few times. She ordered cabinets. When the new doors came in the big pantry door was more damaged then the one I already had. She told me she would order a new one. Again, I wait and wait and wait and no communication. Turns out... Carmesha also left KBW! I'm then referred to Chelsea. SAME THING. Emailing... no response... guess what... now Chelsea no longer works there. We're now going on close to ONE YEAR of dealing with this. I finally get in touch with Sara, the owner of KBW. Sara emails me back and apologizes but then tells me a personal story as to why she hasn't been involved and had no clue about my issue. As much as I can sympathize with her personal issues... that's not my business and quite honestly it was unprofessional of her to tell me. I also don't understand why it's taken almost an entire year for this to be resolved. If you have personal issues going on shouldn't you have someone else in charge? Obviously with the amount of employees quitting there's something going on there! Sara assured me she will take care of it. Several weeks go by... no communication from Sara. At this point I'm just livid. Finally another pantry door comes in.... Guess what damaged. Sara then starts to have the pantry doors sent to my house for me to inspect. I would think at this point being the owner of the company SHE would want to inspect them. We went through several weeks/months of no communication because she just doesn't feel the need to respond. The last door they installed was also damaged and wouldn't close all the way. Again she ordered another one for me to inspect. We scheduled for them to come this morning between 9-10. The gentleman shows up at 8:00 am and says they didn't tell him a time, they just told him to come here. He was very nice and worked as quickly as he could but it completely screwed up my morning of getting kids off to school. They installed the new cabinet door... this is now the 5th or 6th one??? Again it doesn't sit flush! At this point I'm just going to deal with my door not closing all the way because Sara is awful to deal with. Good luck if you've already signed a contract with them. I hope for your sake you never run in to an issue because Sara truly DOES NOT CARE! She is the most unprofessional person I've ever dealt with. read more

Terrible ethics is what I can tell you! After recently moving to Albany, I decided to renovate my kitchen. As I was browsing the showroom for wares, I heard foul language loudly coming from the rear of the store. I queried the saleslady about the ruckus and was told that the owner is dealing with something that day. It seems that this company does not value their customers! Atrocious display of vulgarity and manners. Lost a customer here. read more

The store is well configured and has quality offerings with a wide range of selections. The sales person was pleasant and helpful. I only gave the store a "2 star" because of an issue we had with a bathroom cabinet purchase. The cabinet had legs that were not attached, for the convenience of shipping (understandable). However, the cabinet did not come with any hardware to mount the legs or a manufacturer's recommendation on mounting. When we contacted the store, they indicated this was the way it has "always been" with custom cabinetry and they offered to provide a quotation for installation of the cabinet. They said that cabinets don't come with the hardware to mount them to walls either (agreed), but this to us was an incomplete assembly. We didn't appreciate this attitude and general lack of support. We obtained our own hardware for mounting the legs, and the DIY installation went fine. However, we will not be returning to Kitchen & Bath World. read more

We visited Kitchen & Bath World of Albany, NY in May of 2017 as we were planning to remodel our kitchen. We met designer Emily LaRose and she was professional and welcoming. After meeting with Emily we decided to have her come to our home to take measurements and provide a design. Emily visited our home and again was very personable and professional. We visited the design center one more time to review Emily's design. The renderings were detailed and professional. We decided layout was to our liking and we would go forward with the design. As we had also planned on installing hardwood flooring prior to the kitchen remodel we asked Emily to include flooring in the design quote. When the quote was complete we met with Emily again to go over the numbers. At our next meeting we reviewed the quote and the portion for the flooring was quoted at almost $25,000.00. We were very shocked as I knew that price was far above what approximately 1000SF of moderately priced oak flooring would cost installed. We declined that offer and contracted with another local company that installed the floor for less than half that price. I will add the floor is beautiful and properly installed without a space or squeak even in this dry month of February. You'll see why I mention that shortly. At this point we should have said no to the entire project, thanked Emily for her time and left. Needless to say we contracted to have them install our new kitchen, agreed on a start window and paid a deposit. Before proceeding I'll state now that we love the design and everyone who has seen it likes it as well. Also in order to meet our budget we would handle the demo of the existing kitchen, electrical and plumbing preparations. For Kitchen and Bath World this would be an easy remodel in place project. We were given a start window between August 14 and September 4, 2017. August 14 came and went without a call from KBW. I waited a few days then called them. Of course I was given the spiel about we gave you a start date range. What I didn't expect was the condescending tone and the feeling that I was being a bother. The relationship did not improve from there. During the installation of the cabinets I noticed quite a few of the miter joints on the doors had gaps. When I pointed this out they said it was because wood is a natural product. After some discussion they agreed to replace the doors. When I noticed another door warped the same discussion took place and I needed to insist it be replaced. I will also note in the very beginning our design consultant said she would come visit and check on how things were going. Once we paid our deposit we never saw her again. I had an occasion to contact them again in January of 2018. I emailed the design consultant with a picture of the crown molding installed at the top of the cabinets separating and drooping in one corner. As was typical I did not hear back and needed to call. They are trying to tell me it has seperated due to the dry weather. Remember my comment about the hardwood floor? The floor was installed in August during one of the most humid times year. Presently the floor has no squeaks or gaps due to the dry February weather. This is not a gap due to dryness. It is due to poor workmanship. They told me if they come now to fix it and it separates again they will charge me for another visit. She told me call back in May. I fixed it myself. A couple of pin nails is all it took. In my experience Kitchen and Bath World does not care about it's customers. Once they have your money they'll do everything possible to finish the job without concern of customer satisfaction. It's really too bad as I would have recommended them to two friends as well as considered them for our master bath remodel. read more

We are looking into remodeling out bathroom and wanted to get some ideas on design. Although my husband does all the work, we weren't exactly sure how to configurate our bathroom and Emily was nice enough to take the time and help us out! Yes I am in Florida, I have moved. I'm plenty credible as I've spent plenty of money on my renovation and spent plenty of time living in sheetrock and tile dust while the work was done. It was only AFTERWARDS that all my calls were ignored & all my pleas for a fix to the shotty work, ignored (coincidentally after all the checks were cashed). At one point I can assure you, I was told the person that I left numerous voice msgs for, was fired. This is the part where I'm supposed to believe no one had access to that person's voice mail after they were fired. One woman at the desk even rolled her eyes at me.. Real nice customer service for someone spending thousands of dollars on a renovationThe ONLY reason I showed up was because ALL my calls & messages were ignored for months & my ONLY option was to show up in person, taking time out of MY busy day. (Not that they helped me at all). It is irrelevant now anyway since as I stated, I have moved and the time to provide GOOD customer service has long since passed. The only thing left for me to do is not spend any more money with this company and make sure no one else does either. Again, I wouldn't deal with this company if THEY paid ME Eh for the money I spent, I just expected way better. The bath project took way longer than expected, which was beyond annoying (not showering, or showering at neighbors etc).. worse tho is that this place will screw up an ole thing & never stand behind it. My threshold leaked from day one. I called constantly to get someone back to fix it but no one picked up (6 weeks I called (at least) before just driving there). The rude girl there that I talked to actually rolled her eyes at me and said I was leaving messages on a mailbox for a person who didn't work there anymore. I know this is untrue bc I left msgs for EVERY single person who worked there & still no call back. And if that were true, someone needs to check mailboxes of the ppl they fire, something any three year old could do. After finally FORCING these ppl to acknowledge me, they of course wouldn't take responsibility, or help or even recommend a fix. So from day one, my extremely expensive, brand new tile shower has leaked on the brand new, extremely expensive floor. So feel free to go with these shady ppl but be prepared to have to hire more contractors when they're done, so that everything actually works/looks the way it should. Would never go here again or recommend anyone goin there. I wouldn't even recommend calling bc these mental giants still haven't quite figured out how to master working the telephone. Ps-that should be zero stars up there. read more

Working with Sara was a pleasure - she listened to all of our wants, stayed within our price point, and designed us a dream kitchen more amazing than we even had hoped for. Greg and his crew were considerate, professional, and did a great job. They were very true to their timeline and finished well within the project time frame originally stated. We remodeled our Kitchen last summer, when we met with Sara to discuss what we wanted and needed for our kitchen it was clear right away that she knew what I wanted before I even did! Her design and subsequent remodel was all I ever dreamed of and more! Sara was able to stay at the price point we needed and give me my dream kitchen. We have an older home and this kitchen has literally given the heart of our home new life. The time line Sara originally gave us was stuck to exactly, she worked diligently to make sure all deadlines were met while simultaneously making sure the high quality and craftsmanship stayed above par. I can not recommend Kitchen and Bath world enough! We will definitely be using them and Sara again when we renovate our Master Bath!! read more

We contracted with Kitchen and Batch World to renovate our kitchen. The work consisted of removing 2 walls (one of which was load bearing), installing an island, adding gas so we could have a gas range, and the usual cabinetry. Our designer, Sara; was the best. We told her what we wanted and she guided us in making the decisions that worked best in the space we had. The craftsmen who worked on the kitchen were always on time, cleaned up daily and were personable, professional and talented. The kitchen is beautiful; we love working, eating, and hanging out in the space. The island was a perfect gathering spot for our holiday company. To me, this is truly an example of you get what you pay for. There were unforeseen issues (electrical) that arose (and a couple of changes we made on the fly) that were taken care of without any additional charge. They may be a bit pricier than the competition but they don't "nickel and dime" you when changes are made. Once our budget has recovered from our kitchen re-do; have to look at the bathroom :) read more

The only comment that I have is that my husband and I visited the showroom on rainy Saturday in May. No customers to be seen in the store. We entered the store, were not spoken to or even acknowledged by the desk clerk. We walked through the displays, past at least one woman who never looked away from her computer. Wandered upstairs, back through downstairs and spent at least 15 minutes in the store. Completely ignored. We are in our early 50s and have a generous budget but Kitchen and Bath world will not be seeing any of it. Their loss. read more

We did a total kitchen with Kitchen and Bath World and are very happy with them. Our designer Sara was a great help with choices while getting to know my design personality and the install team was always on time or early and very neat and unobtrusive. We had one issue with a damaged cabinet which they reordered a replacement for right away. We were told 2-4 weeks and they finished ahead of time. Very refreshing working with such a reputable company. I was ready for mayhem and got nothing but a company that follows through on it's promise and workmanship. I was always able to reach someone with a question or concern and was always dealt with immediately. I would use them again in a heartbeat. They remodeled my bathroom about 2 years ago. They did a nice job, but it took forever (nearly 6 weeks after I was told it would be 3 weeks, maybe 4) and it was VERY expensive. There wasn't anything unique or particularly complicated about this job...no walls were moved no new windows, minimal plumbing and electrical, just lots of tile work. They are rightfully very proud of the fact that they don't use subcontractors - the guys who do the job are employees and are very good and respectful and take their time on everything.....and believe me you pay for their leisurely pace. They also want to start work at 7:30 am and no matter how many times I objected, they wouldn't budge. Their contractual payment schedule is also unsettling....they require a large down payment, and then on the very first day they demanded more money....essentially on day one they had nearly 60% of the money. They also demanded that I provide storage for all the materials....meaning they took over half my garage....and this was never discussed. I'd leave to run an errand, return to find more stuff deposited in my garage...the lead worker was always texting the supervisor about my comings and goings....to time deliveries, show up to collect money, but never to review the job with me. It became very weird and uncomfortable in my home. There was confusion about a new toilet...why would I pay tens of thousands of dollars on a new bathroom and not expect a new toilet was included? The designer screwed up on the materials list in the contract and I missed it....and I ended up having to buy a new toilet on top of all the other money.....they could have admitted the error and made it right, but didn't. If you use them, read the contract VERY carefully.....esp the payment schedule, storage requirements, material list, start times. My neighbors were incredulous over how long this small bathroom job took and asked me how it went....."they did a nice job, but I wouldn't use them again". Nuff said, they responded. read more

A beautiful showroom however, we will not return. My daughter and I visited to look at counter tops - she is shopping to purchase. The sales person never looked up from her work until we approached her. No welcome, no smile, no can I help you. When we asked where to find what we were looking for she said "second floor: and returned to her work. No help during the browsing and when we selected samples and went back downstairs we were not asked to sit to get questions answered - we were told that we would need to "go home and send a template" before we could get any information. Since we were made to feel like bothersome intruders we will certainly not return. With a kitchen and two bathroom remodels in her future my daughter will choose another business - one which puts its best foot forward and it's customers first. read more

We had a terrific experience working with Kitchen and Bath World and, in particular, Emily LaRose. Our project was extensive - we gutted three full baths and one half bath. One of the baths, our master, was completely refigured; needless to say it was a bit overwhelming. After going to a number of cabinet, fixture and tile stores in the area and getting even more overwhelmed, I stumbled upon Kitchen and Bath World! Being able to pick cabinetry, countertops, tile and plumbing fixtures all in one location and coordinated by one person (a bathroom designer and decorator) was the perfect solution. I loved working with Emily! She had a great eye and was receptive to my input - it became an awesome and wonderful collaborative effort. Emily even helped me pick out lighting, mirrors and wall color for the bathrooms. We used our own contractor and he was amazed at the level of detail Emily put into her plans.
