Davco told us what we could do in the meantime to tide us over, which they were under no obligation to do. Their suggestions worked AND when we reached out to them last month to say we were ready to start our chimney and foundation work, not only did they honor the quote, they had us booked on the calendar within a week. The masonry work they did on our house looks beautiful and they're even coming back to complete the last couple of spots after National Grid wraps our power lines. On 4/24/25 I contracted with Davco to have a cement sidewalk connecting the existing east side…read moresidewalk around the back of the home to a existing patio then from the patio up the west side of the home connecting to the existing front sidewalk. The contract stated 98LF,5"wide, and 6" deep as discussed.the price of the job was 8,400.00 which was paid in cash 50% to start, 25% after removal of forms and 25% upon completion. The job was started approximately June 10th, by mid August the cement was pitting, a crack formed where the sidewalk meets the patio, no backfill was placed and cement on the garage and house.Dave was contacted and did send a worker to clean but nothing else was addressed. Two other workers stopped by and stated the job was not done correctly there is a heaved, and the crack was a combination of no rebar and excavation was not done properly. Fast forward to April 2026,after the winter there is a second crack on the east side connecting to the existing front sidewalk. My husband contacted Dave via email stated the job is not complete no backfill still and two cracks now. Dave set a worker to backfill and stopped himself where he had a conversation with my husband about the cracks and in his mind the job was completed and offered no reason for the cracks. I have left 2 voice messages May/June No response! The ironic piece of this story the supervisor of this job stopped by August 2025 on his own to make the necessary corrections to the job. Unbeknown to us he had been fired from Davco 2025 based on two botched jobs one being a garage as told to us by an employee. All I want is what I paid for and a little customer service goes a long way. The owner could care less if a customer is pleased. He tries to bully people by his attitude and belligerent manners. Made a complaint to the BBB which he has not responded to. I would not recommend him or his company to a dead man!

It was evident that Tom and his son Nick LOVE what they do and that was another reason we went with Precision. He and his crew were here for 3 days and did a wonderful job! They showed up on the dot when they said that they would, worked efficiently, and minimized the disruption of our lives. They covered everything with plastic so there was very little dust from the sanding of the floors. They cleaned up after the sanding, wiping everything down and vacuuming. Upfront and in fairness, we took the owner of this business (Donald T. Fay) to Schenectady City…read moresmall claims court and lost after we had hired him in October 2023 for a bathroom remodel. We took him to court on what we believed was a breach of contract, but according to NYS law Mr. Fay didn't write a legitimate contract so it didn't cover us. We learned what he provided, and what we signed, is considered a workmanship agreement. This type of agreement offers virtually no protection for the buyer unless the work is deemed unusable and unsafe. We selected specific tiles we wanted for our bathroom remodel project and Mr. Fay purchased tiles that were close to what we wanted but different brands, sizes, and quality without receiving our approval for the substitution. Mr. Fay lied in court and said that this was our agreement (to get close to what I wanted) despite what he wrote on the agreement we signed. He even provided the receipt of the purchased materials to the Judge which showed he didn't purchase what we asked for. Mr. Fay's workmanship was overall poor. The walls of the shower were out-of-plumb, the grout work shows mortar and tile separator tabs, he did not put in any framing to support a shower door, and the tile cuts he made are unclean. He scratched wood floors and dented walls. Pictures attached for examples of work quality. He tried to take advantage of us by buying cheaper tiles and pocketing the money. He was deceitful when we confronted him, so we fired him and would not let him do any further work. We've lost a significant amount of money in this process as we are having all of his work torn out and redone. Heed our warning and learn from our mistake, unless the contract meets the requirements of the New York State General Business Law you are not protected as a purchaser of services. It was a complete mistake hiring Mr. Fay.

I used Dave of DMC Handyman Services to fix a ceiling drywall problem caused by a leaking toilet on…read morethe floor above it. The problem looked like a disaster, it was very troubling. I called Dave after doing a search on Google. He came immediately to scope out the problem. He gave me a very reasonable quote which was better than a couple of drywall specialists I called. A friend whose brother is a contractor spoke to her brother who confirmed Dave's price was extremely reasonable for the Albany/Capital region and I should jump on it. Dave finished the job professionally and the ceiling now looks like no repair was needed. He fixed the ceiling drywall seamlessly and very smoothly, and then painted it. I paid him the price we agreed to. A couple of weeks later he came for a plumbing issue and met the tenants while I was at work. A new garbage disposal was needed to fix the problem. I picked one up at Lowe's Fri night and Dave came Sat morning to install it. No plumber needed. He also repaired a loose front doorknob while he was here. He can do a wide range of things. I would recommend him without hesitation. He definitely deserves 5 stars, if not more.
