This is an updated review. Now we are a repeat customer. We replaced the flooring in our kitchen, dining, living rooms. As well as a hallway and office. Our first flooring delivery came in a different shade than expected from the manufacturer's sample, and the Albany Carpet Warehouse handled everything. We went with a different floor, and everything was smooth, including the installation. A fast, friendly, and hard-working team not only installed the floor, they solved a (rather large) leveling problem in our current floor, and fixed a few air leakage and water problems. Shopping was easy. They are knowledgeable about their carpets with lots to choose from. We went to 4 different carpet places. They were one up from the lowest price place, but they knew their stuff and I got the carpet delivered and installed within 2 weeks. Other places told me 6 weeks just for the order! Want to extend the hardwood floor across the livingroom -- get rid of old carpet and extend the nice hardwood. The staff was great, they found my hardwood floor color and after 3 years it only went up $.20 per foot! They also offer installation. My advice: overlook the exterior and give this place a try. Yes, the outside isn't visually appealing but I am very happy that I bought my carpet here. I needed to carpet 2 good-sized bedrooms and wasn't sure where to start. I came here and found a good selection of carpet samples to browse through. The employees were helpful and nice without being pushy. Their warehouse is off through a side door and they will bring you back to have a look at options in stock (if interested). These seemed to have even better prices. I ended up ordering because they didn't have the color I needed. It only took a few days for the carpet to arrive at their warehouse and be ready for installation. Their prices are good for the carpet+padding. Even the installation prices were fair. Honestly. As for the installation- the process was smooth and problem free. I scheduled a day and they even they called ahead of time to confirm! I was amazed at how fast the carpets were installed and the process was over just like that. It looked great, was fairly easy, and now I have 2 carpeted bedrooms. I had been dreading this process and had been a bit overwhelmed with all the choices etc., but they helped make this an easy experience. read more

Tucked away in an unassuming warehouse near the highway, you'll find a wide variety of carpets, samples, and... more carpets. So many carpets. We were shopping for a staircase runner, and they had plenty of options. After an exchange of United States dollar denominated currency for goods and services, our carpet was installed quickly and efficiently, and our old rag of a runner was made scarce by the installation "crew" (one guy who worked quickly, efficiently, and effectively!). ACW even offered to make small floor mats out of the remnants of the runner we installed. Two floor mats later, we can now dance upon our beautiful new carpet above the staircase, below the staircase, and upon the staircase! And all at very reasonable rates (including installation)! Highly recommended for monocle-wearers of all esteemed pedigree on the prowl for an abundance of brand new carpets. read more

We went to Albany Carpet Warehouse after buying a new condo. The owner, Dennis, listened to our needs and concerns (new puppy) and was extremely helpful in making suggestions for the best choices. He recommended a moderately priced carpet and a pad that would protect the carpet and add comfort. We were in a hurry to have the carpet installed and Al, one of the installers came the same evening to do the measurements! Al came with a crew a week later and installed the entire condo in one day. They did a wonderful job and the carpeting looks beautiful. We could not be more pleased and highly recommend both the owners and the installation team. read more

Exceptionally positive experience. Dennis and Maegen are very knowledgeable and very helpful. Maegen spent a lot of time with me to help me find the right flooring for our home ( we have kids, pets, and a mess of allergies so it was not easy task). Do you love high quality carpets but don't feel like spending a fortune? You HAVE to check this place out. I first went there to pick up an inexpensive remnant (which they did a beautiful job binding) and have just had them replace all my carpeting in the basement. Not only did they do an excellent job but the carpet was of superior quality and it cost THOUSANDS less than the quote I got from "Big Box" with their "incredible sale." If you are planning on purchasing carpeting and/or flooring and you are looking for great prices (I looked all over town) you need to check out Albany Carpet Warehouse. Not only are their prices competitive their service can not be overstated. It's like we stepped back in time... All we purchased was a 13'x16' carpet for our cottage on the lake. We went on a Friday afternoon (close to closing) and looked at what they had. David showed us what he had in remnants because "You really don't need an expensive carpet that will only be used in the summer." He then cut samples so we could check out the colors. The following week we returned (again just before closing time but you'd never know it) and looked at one of the carpets he had shown us - one of the carpets had been sold. When Dennis the owner heard that one of the carpets we had looked at was no longer available he gave us an additional discount on the carpet we did buy. Now mind you, we never asked them to put a hold on the carpet that was sold and the one we did buy was less expensive than the one that had been sold. The additional discount was just offered we didn't ask for it, (because it was less expensive than any carpets we saw for the same quality) it was just given to us. Dennis then asked if we wanted the carpet delivered or installed. We said we were going to pick it up and try and lay it ourselves. Dennis then gave us a demonstration of what happens when you lay a carpet on top of an existing carpet (it "travels"). He suggested that we take up the old carpet and just use the existing padding. Yup you got it. No pressure or sales pitch to buy new padding. He then said that he would lend us the tools we would need to bend, cut, and place the carpet. In addition he wanted to lend us his stapler gun because the staples of a regular staple gun would not do a professional job and the staples would push down the carpet pile and leave marks unlike a carpet staple. The cost of using his tools - NOTHING! He just wanted us to be happy with the finished product. And we were. It was hard work but my husband and son were happy with their DIY (and so was I). I finally figured it out. Albany Carpet Warehouse wants all their customers to be happy with their purchase. The catch, in my opinion, if the customer is happy they will come back. YOU BET WE WILL! Be smart. If you need any kind of flooring go back in time and check them out. PS - My husband just asked me, "When have you ever taken the time to write that long of a review for anything?" The owner, Dennis, was awesome. Spent a great deal of time finding what would work best for us, then worked it so we could have it installed before our furniture arrived a couple of days later. Carpet quality is amazing, and price was great. We originally got a price from Lowes, and even with their installation free promotion, Dennis was able to get us a much higher quality product, with professional installation (unlike some of the poor installation reviews from Lowes) for a just a fraction more in price. Went here at 2:30 on a Saturday afternoon. Seemed to be one other customer there and a salesperson in a back room (?) We wandered to the back side of the store, looked at some carpeting rolled up on the floor and spent about ten minutes comparing samples. We walked back out to the main space and could find no one. We were never greeted, never spoken to and we ended up walking out and Googling other carpet stores. Recently my home sustained damage . I hired a cleaning company to clean my home. In the process they damaged my carpet in my home. The boss agreed they were at fault and would pay for new carpet in my home. On the recommendation of a family member i called Albany Carpet and spoke to Dennis Jackson the owner. I live 45 minutes away from Albany and Mr Jackson said he would drop off carpet samples to my house. He did so and left them at my doorstep . We picked out what we wanted and he came to our house and took measurements and called us later with a price on the carpet we chose. I submitted them to the cleaning company . The boss told me he would not pay that amount and tried to low-ball big time on my carpet. I called Dennis and he said the carpet was a mid -grade carpet nothing really expensive and he honestly could not and would not install carpet at that price in my home. He offered to call the cleaning company and try to reason with them that at the price they were offering to pay he didn't even have carpet priced that low and if he did it was junk. I told him that I would take care of it and I appreciated him trying to help me. Well a day or so later I received a call from Dennis Jackson the owner. He had called the cleaning company and spoke on my behalf . Dennis informed that the cleaning company changed their mind and will pay the full cost of replacing the carpet in my home!!!!! Here is a quick breakdown for you. The price of my carpet was close to 4,000 installed . The cleaning company offered me 1400 bucks. The carpet installers alone asked closed to 1,000 just install it. So you can see if it was for Mr Jackson i would have had a rug and not a carpet. Thank you Mr Jackson! read more
