We had several quotes to refinish our red oak hardwood floors after 25 years in our home. Tom was very informative on using an oil based poly or Bona AmberSeal and water based poly over it. He came to our home and actually put both samples on our floor so we could see the difference. It was evident that Tom and his son Nick LOVE what they do and that was another reason we went with Precision. He and his crew were here for 3 days and did a wonderful job! They showed up on the dot when they said that they would, worked efficiently, and minimized the disruption of our lives. They covered everything with plastic so there was very little dust from the sanding of the floors. They cleaned up after the sanding, wiping everything down and vacuuming. I obtained a few estimates for sanding the wood floors in my dining room, living room and a hallway. I went with Tom because his price was fair and he instilled confidence in the way he answered questions. Tom and his crew arrived on time every day of the three day job, and worked quickly and professionally. They sealed doors with tape and used plastic sheeting to contain the dust from sanding. He seamlessly replaced a few boards that had stains from old water damage. On the second day (after the first coat), I noticed a board that had a few small stains that I knew would end up bugging me (yes, I am a nitpicker). Tom gladly replaced the board for no extra fee. Despite all kinds of dings, heavy wear and a ton of carpet tacking holes, Tom did a great job. The almost 50 year old floors look brand new. Last year when I bought my house I was looking for someone to refinish my hardwood floors before moving in. I asked my family and coworkers for recommendations and several people pointed me toward Tom's Precision floors. I got quotes from three different flooring guys and Tom offered a very competitive price. One of the things that I really liked about Tom was that during the quote he actually suggested that I didn't need to refinish the upstairs because the floors were in good condition. Tom and his crew refinished our Lake House pine floors that were way over due for a good sanding and finishing. With sand from the beach and snow from our winter fun the floors were quite worn --especially in the kitchen high traffic areas. Tom came in with a reasonable price and a good finish time frame. He taped everything off to contain the dust from the rest of the house and completed the job in the time frame as promised. Very happy with my new floors . Guys we're very professional came on time had 1100 square feet of flooring sanded in one day needed a couple pieces replaced. Tom said work would be done in three days and work was done in three days. I'd highly recommend these guys to everyone. Their great . So glad I went with them . My two star rating might not be fair here because Tom's floors didn't do any work at my house, but I wanted him to! I decided to have 850 sq ft of hardwood floors sanded, stained and finished and as often advised I called three local companies to take a look. I did my online research and decided on three flooring companies we experience and generally good reviews. I left a message and Tom called me back that same day and told me he would come on Thursday or Friday of that week ( mid to late Feb 2020) to take a look and would call me back with an exact time.Mind you this was his schedule not mine. Thursday arrived and I heard nothing then Friday still nothing.....I called his office number and spoke with a women who said she wasn't sure were he was presently, I asked for a cell phone number to call myself and she said no she would give him the message. I never heard from them again, the other two companies both showed and I hired one for my $4500 job. This shocks me as I called him, he only had to show up! Not even close. A big talker who promises everything and does not deliver. Got an estimate for the downstairs and upstairs wood floors of a house. Agreed on a start date and was promised a signed contract. Never received a contract of any kind even after repeated reminders. Then kept rescheduling the job to fit us in between bigger jobs because he needed the money (remember he likes to talk). When he finally started the downstairs he was very rushed from the start. There was a stained area which wasn't noticed before. He did not suggest or try any simple methods to lighten it instead saying it would cost at least $1200 to replace a few boards. He rushed the whole way through and wanted to put the second coat on the same day instead of waiting 24 hours (did wait after WE asked him not to - not because as stated below he has never done it). When he finished the downstairs the results were poor with an uneven finish/swirl marks and filler that was haphazardly applied. When he said he couldn't get to the upstairs for two weeks we said no thanks.
