Sometimes we want to ask questions but finding an employee was difficult, and other times we just want to be left alone to look around. This place offered both, along with many selections of different types of flooring. Yes, it is a warehouse inside so some things seemed jumbled around. But, the salesperson (Paul) was extremely helpful in explaining to us some of the options available and differences in product lines. We haven't bought anything yet (and they work on commission) but he seemed happy to just help us out whether we made a purchase or not. Once we know for sure what we want, we likely will be coming back here.

While we did explore searching for samples at several locations, the final decision was made to purchase from Ballston Carpet and Tile because we had narrowed down our possible choices to three - all of which were sold by BC&T. We were very pleased with Craig who assisted my wife in understanding the differences in the fabrics, their wearability, the anticipated delivery times, and who tolerated our slow decision making and the amount of time we held samples at home trying to make a final decision. Craig also kept us apprised of the manufacture's production schedule. The fellow who came to the house to determine the measurements was not only friendly, but also very knowledgeable and willing to share his knowledge regarding proper installation methods and wear. With his input we were able to arrange to include two scatter rugs from the same bolt of carpet to be ordered. Finally, the installer, Justin, was friendly, and did a very professional job of removing the old carpeting and installing the new carpeting. We are very happy that we chose Ballston Carpet and Tile to do this project and have no reservations with recommending them to others.

Horrible experience with this company. They were hired by my apartment complex to recarpet my three…read morebedroom apartment. First three installers left behind a large lump in the living room carpet, a sunken piece and four breaks in the hallway, and an untucked break in the bedroom. After complaining, they sent two different installers who did stretch out the living room carpet, but were not successful in repairing the hallway carpet. Then they sent a different installer to put in a new carpet in the hallway. That carpet looked like it was a different shade from the other carpeting. They sent a manager out who concluded that the carpeting in two bedrooms was put in at a different angle from the carpet in the hallway and remainder of the apartment. They offered to again replace the hallway carpet. And it still looks a different shade. Four different installers and two managers and I am left with a carpet that looks different from room to room and there are many visible breaks. I wish I had kept my old carpet. Had I been paying for this (instead of my apartment complex) I would be suing them in small claims court. I was told that they subcontract out their installers and that is why I saw four different installers.

Not only was the staff warm and friendly, they went beyond the basic "are you finding everything" question and made me feel like they truly wanted to help find what was right for me. They asked questions about the craft projects I was working on and clarified my desired end results to be sure I had the correct products for my needs. BONUS points awarded: my Midwestern heart was happy to find bags of Dot's pretzels for sale at the register, too :) The great experiences I've had for my small shopping trips have secured me as a long-time customer. I went in several years ago because I was clueless as far as how I wanted my house to look when I was remodeling it. All I knew I wanted it to look cohesive as far as colors went. Gary sat down with my wife and I for probably 45mins to an hour showing us paint color wheels and discussing we probably wanted to work off whatever floor color and countertop color we were going with. He gave us numerous choices. He also referred us to a countertop place and a cabinet place. I left with out purchasing anything because I had to ponder the options. The point is he sat down with us for a long time not even knowing if we would make a purchase or not. No pressure or anything. Just passing on his knowledge. I went back and bought paint for every room in the house from him. He made recommendations on eggshell, satin, flat based on what room it would be in or what the paint was going on (mouldings etc). I went back once to get paint for a front door. They actually sent me to Lowe's instead because they felt that Lowe's had a better tint for the color door I was looking for. I don't know of many businesses that would do that. In fact I don't know of any place that does that. I painted my kitchen cabinets and again Gary and Scott were a wealth of information on the type of paint to use, how to prep the cabinets and what rollers and brushes to use. I'm a lifelong customer now. They may be a little more money but this is truly a case where you get what you pay for and more. Whenever I go in there I'm treated like an old friend and I truly appreciate that. The paint is high quality the employees are even better. If you have some painting to do, do yourself a favor and stop in Village Paint. I think you will be glad you did.
