However, my total was 29.98 before tax and they wouldn't give me the five dollars off because I was not at $30. What a joke. Why bother having the reward program. We are thrilled with the superb work of Kitchen and Bath World from beginning to end. We renovated…read moretwo bathrooms in quite different styles. The first is simple and contemporary, the second involved an intricate pattern of colorful tiles forming wall-size images. Sara worked with us on the design, asking many questions to understand our aesthetic aims and practical needs, and offering a variety of options for us to choose among to achieve our goals. She also provided a variety of very effective ideas and solutions, considering the physical constraints of the (relatively small) spaces, to ensure the best use of spaces and to create a very open feel in both bathrooms, all in a cost-effective manner. The actual construction was done in an extremely professional manner by workers who were not only highly-skilled but also friendly, considerate of our needs, and responsive to our questions and concerns as the projects progressed. Particularly impressive, amazing really, was the tile work performed by Cliff. The colorful bathroom involved laying more than 1,000 tiles, and cutting more than 100 tiles to create the intricate design. It also involved the fitting of the many tiles to very close tolerance specifications. Cliff was both masterful and highly conscientious in completing this tile work. The result is stunning. In addition, along the way in both bathrooms, specific questions arose about alternative approaches to implementing features of the design. Cliff identified and raised these questions for us to think about, and he offered aesthetically pleasing solutions. In short, Cliff's work was thoughtful, technically masterful, and informed by his strong sense of aesthetic beauty. We are most impressed by Kitchen and Bath World for their general approach, their implementation, and the final product in renovating both bathrooms. Kitchen and Bath World has our highest recommendation.

Came here recently because I needed tube sand for a project, and none of the hardware stores in…read moreAlbany (Tractor Supply, Lowes, Home Depot) had it. This store did, and when I talked to an employee here I was told it was an "optional" item to carry. I ordered it online, and when I arrived they couldn't find my order. How do you lose 140 pounds of sand? Anyway, they finally found it and I was on my way. Of note: this location is on a hill, and it is bracketed by two roads. The eastern-most one isn't actually an entrance and will lead to a dead end. You must enter from the western-most road. Also, there was a huge pothole in the driveway, which was disappointing for a store like this.

I love nature, and one of the (many) reasons is related to the sort of wonderment that I feel when…read moreI realise I'm surrounded by other living beings. Nurseries and gardens help me relive that realisation. We've been to this Hewitt's a number of times, and on this latest visit, made very similar observations. They have as wide a variety of plants, trees, and gardening supplies as other nurseries in the region, but perhaps the plants are not getting as close attention as at some others, Nisky Faddegon's, which I realise is more an exception, not the norm (I've seen plants in worse conditions at Lowe's and Home Depot). It may also be that this is past the peak buying season, but the wilting leaves and perished stalks always manage to tug at my heartstrings. They had just what we were looking for: arbricola green! We grabbed two of the healthier looking. There was a variegated variety which was denser than what we got. Their indoor plant selection is still one of the best around here, and the staff there have always been friendly. I hope the locals continue to support Hewitt's and they stay open for many more decades.

A Hardware Store on Steroids!…read more Our first visit to Hatchet Hardware of Troy was for some plumbing parts. When we first walked in, my thoughts were, 'they're not going to have plumbing parts...' I was totally wrong. This hardware store has it all - everything you expect in a local hardware store and then some. The entry to the store is filled with unique items for your home, trinkets, and gifts. It's a visual delight. Then you get into the heart of the store and there you'll find housewares and small appliances, landscape supplies, light bulbs...the list goes on. They even offer refills of cleaning supplies for environmentally conscious shoppers. Don't forget about upstairs which houses the plumbing supplies amongst other things. What's even better is the staff is friendly and helpful. If you haven't been yet, check it out!

Walmart People Alert!…read more This is an event that occurs once a year.... A few days of the year, special individuals shows up quite dumbfounded about the amazingness that is Walmart. They wander around the center aimlessly. They are afraid to touch the merchandises as they are more comfortable with the items behind a screen. I have spotted the freshmen/college student at Walmart. Walmart will become your church/temple/synagogue. You will visit weekly and offer your appreciation. This might be your first time here. If your parents paying, this is your guide. Lamp- Yes, Get it. You claim that it is for late night reading, but it will serve it's purpose to enhance your snapchat/instagram photo. Lighting is everything. You can't photoshop yourself out of this. Microwave- A must have. College may prohibit this, but try your best to get one. People who can microwave food at night will make you popular when you get the munchies/hangry. If you really don't want a microwave, get a water boiler. You will learn chemistry and engineering late at night. Frig- Cold beverage is always good. Tell parents its for the water... Nalgene- Grab atleast 2. One is for water. The bottle is for soda/juice/etc/ or when you forget where you place the first nalgene. Nalgene will mean everything. Snacks/oatmeal/nuts- Late night food is always good to have. Can't study when hungry. Air freshener/detergents- room smelling good and having clean clothes will make you look like a responsible college student. Grab a hoodie- I prefer a hoodie from your college, but if you see something that you like. Get it. Hoodie will be your clothing attire half the time. This isn't everything that you should get at college. But hey, you have to start somewhere. You will master everything by sophomore year. Enjoy shopping at Walmart.

I am extremely frustrated with Walmart's delivery service and customer service process…read more Missing items have become a recurring issue with my orders. Mistakes happen, and I understand that. What I don't understand is why customers are expected to repeatedly fight to recover money for items they never received. Because this has happened so many times, Walmart's automated refund system often rejects my claims and forces me to contact customer service directly. While representatives generally issue the refund, I am then told it may take up to 10 business days to receive my money back. Meanwhile, I am left without the items I ordered and without the money I paid for them. What makes the situation even more frustrating is Walmart's approach to compensation. When I have asked whether any accommodation can be made for the inconvenience, I am told the best they can offer is a $5 promo code. What is not clearly explained is that the promo code requires another qualifying purchase before it can even be used. In other words, after Walmart forgets part of my order, I may have to place another order to replace those items, pay additional delivery fees, potentially pay for express delivery again, and spend a minimum amount just to use the $5 promo code being offered as compensation. That is not really compensation. It is a discount that requires me to spend more money with Walmart after Walmart failed to deliver the items I already paid for. The most disappointing part is that this is not a one-time issue. If it happened once, I would not be writing this review. This has happened enough times that I already know the refund process, already know I will likely need to speak to a representative, and already know I may be waiting days or weeks to get my money back. Customers should not have to repeatedly prove that missing items are actually missing, wait extended periods for refunds, and then be offered compensation that requires additional spending to receive any benefit. Walmart needs to improve its order accuracy, streamline the refund process, and provide meaningful compensation when repeated delivery errors occur.
