I have several imported cars and needed a high quality repair shop for them. I spoke with Diego, he assured me he would be able to fix my car. my car sat for three weeks without being touched. Diego kept telling "I'll get to it tomorrow, Monday, Tuesday, etc. I'm very busy, I have other customers. ". eventually I had the car towed out of here. very negative experience that I wouldn't want anyone else to endure. Find a more professional customer focused shop. I recently purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey that had been sitting for over 6 months. It needed a new starter and was misfiring horribly and making an awful knocking sound. They did a complete check on the vehicle. They checked spark plugs, compression, fuel injectors and even removed the catalytic converter to check if it was clogged. Finally they checked the timing and found I was misaligned by 3 teeth. Moreover, the belt tensioner was bent to hell. They fixed my car in one day. I'm extremely satisfied with their work. When I pulled up to pick up my car, I found one of the techs shining up the front end of my car which was the extra touch that impressed me. The good: replaced turbo that was working (but making a noise), and I have not had any issues with it in the months since they replaced it. They explained the issue thoroughly, which was helpful for someone like me who likes to know what's going on. The bad: upon picking up the car, there were several dash warning lights on that were not on when the car was dropped off. O2 sensors had mysteriously become faulty during the repair. They accepted no fault and charged $550 or so to replace, including a $50 charge to plug in their computer to diagnose, which I felt wasn't right, since 1). They must have caused it, and 2). I already told them that my AccessPort read that it was the O2 sensors...but only the ones on the part of the exhaust that they worked on. Instead of having the O2 sensors replaced elsewhere, I just had them do the repair. Covid delays (that were not their fault) caused them to have the car for over a week, so I just needed it back. I've had no issues on those or any O2 sensors since. A month later, I noticed my Cobb turbo heat shield was missing, though I never contacted them about this. It's only $75, so it wasn't worth the hassle of trying to convince them that it was there when I dropped it off. I really wanted this relationship to work because of the location convenience, but I won't be returning. Their repair prices seemed a lot higher than I'm used to, and while I try and give the benefit of the doubt to people, I left with concerns of integrity, which isn't something I want in a mechanic. read more

Never ever go to this place. They rip you off. I went there because of the issue with wheel bearing. The owner told me it would cost $850 to replace my wheel bearing along with 4 tires. I checked and those still has life. But he insisted me again and again. So we came down $500 to replace wheel bearing and 1 tire. They charged 2 hours of labor which is like whooping $276 for labor for wheel bearing and tire replacement which is like 1/2 hr to 1hr job. This is so pathetic and I really don't know how they go to sleep doing this everyday. It is $95.33/hr for the labor. They made money on parts and on labor. Recently my starter in my Xterra had failed, which I found strange since it was suppose to be a new starter I purchased from and replaced by Diego's Mechanic. Diego even talked me into replacing it with a brand new unit instead of a remanufactured unit and charged me almost $400 for part and labor. Fast forward, my truck wouldn't start a few weeks ago and it turned out to be the starter, leaving me stranded. What was SHOCKING was when my mechanic removed my old starter from under the truck, it was an old remanufactured (as factory stamped) starter, and the brand name didn't even match what was written on the receipt Diego gave me. I live in Manhattan now and it wasn't feasible for me to go back to Diego's, especially since my current mechanic was only charging me $200 for a new starter and labor included and took all of 30 minutes to replace. To sum it up, I was ripped off by Diego and his smooth talking personlity. Clearly they're dishonest and over-priced. Shame how a fast few extra bucks they swindled from me would cost them much more in lost business from my review. SHAME ON YOU, Diego's Mechanics. DISHONEST AND LIES!! read more

I brought my car to Diego on a friend's recommendation 10 years ago. Since then I have gone nowhere else. I bring him all my vehicles from brand new imports direct from the dealer, to the old daily drivers I give to the kids. I will never buy a used car without showing it to Diego first. When you take your car in he will inspect everything and tell you what it must have to be safe, what it needs to be reliable, what you can defer until later, and what to keep an eye on. His prices as fair, his work is excellent, he gets the job done fast, and most importantly he is TRUSTWORTHY! Mechanics have a long reputation if ripping people off, but not here. I went in there because of a weird noise my car was doing I got charged 50 so they can check it, and it turns out that nothing was wrong so they told me I had to get other stuff done and got charged 200 the noise still kept going took it to another place and it was the front wheel bearings so basically they ripped me off. read more
