Came here looking for a massive quantity of whistles. No need to worry why I needed about twenty whistles, just remember I needed the whistles. Before making the trek over here, my friends and I looked online to see if there were whistles to be had any where near where we were. We weren't having much luck until this popped up. We made our way over here and into the store. Trying to figure out where whistles would be in a sporting goods store is not fun. Every single sport they represent could be a possibility of that location. We wondered up and down aisles in hopes that they might be with the soccer gear, no luck. Basketball gear? Nope. Hidden in the back corner of the store? Why of course... We see the whistles, grab our twenty and head to the register. The guy ringing us up must of thought why are we buying so many. Then when the total came up, something wasn't adding up. Even with simple math it wasn't correct. Then we noticed that the amount per whistle is not what was listed on the many pegs we just cleared back there. We let the guy know that each peg we pulled from was a price less than what was in the system. He got on his walkie and had a back and forth with another employee who persisted that the price it is ringing up is the price. We protested, as we (four of us) all told him the price is not as marked on the peg. They were hoping that we wouldn't care much, but one of my friends went to the back corner to meet the associate and point out where we grabbed the whistles from. Once she did that, they honored the priced from the numerous pegs. Crazy situation, but when you buy twenty of something, the price difference definitely stands out. read more

I like the store. The inventory is similar at each location. There is a nice selection of running shoes, hiking clothes, sporty shirts, shorts and t-shirts. If you need a tiny or huge sports bottle, there are nice choices. The location is okay during the day. The area is different at night. I'm not wild about this part of NE after dark. At least there are lots of stores and people around. read more

I had a great experience here! I purchased a pair of shoes however during check out the item didn't come up as "on sale" I spoke to the cashier asking to confirm the pair was on sale. She worked hard to communicate to the back and confirm there was a sale. However the price still wasn't ringing up, I showed them the price online as well and they honored the discount. Their patience, customer service, and kindness was outstanding. I will be back at this location for future needs. read more

I have shopped here many times. Some visits were great and some were pointless. I usually have a great chance of finding my items if I'm getting fitness equipment. If I'm looking for clothes, it is a hit or miss. This most recent visit, I came to see the items I saw online that were available for pick up. They weren't there! It is strange for a store this HUGE to have absolutely NO compressions for men and only 1 type of women's Nike leggings available. The most concerning part is that dressing room #1 reeked of URINE! I could barely breathe in there and had to change rooms. The associate didn't look shocked when I told him. I don't think it was cleaned or reported. read more

I live close by, but I try to avoid going here unless absolutely necessary, because 1) Their "Customer Service" is practically non-existent, and 2) They prices are higher than average. I'm not sure if DSG as a whole doesn't care, or if this is all about the Dakota Crossing store management, but they need to invest in Customer Service training for their employees. Out of all of the sporting good stores that have folded, I don't know how DSG has made it this far. read more

I came here to pickup worms. It was self-serve and they come in pre-measured containers. So the pickup was easy. There are a lot of other sporting goods items here for every type of sport but like I said, I just came here for worms. I just wish I didn't have to come so far from DC to get them. I found out there is a Dicks closer to DC near South Dakota Ave. I did take a look at their hiking bags for pricing and I think I'll go to REI as there is more selection and the prices are more reasonable. read more

Oh I had the worse experience ever!! I normally shop here because my son is an athlete. We come here for lacrosse gear, football gear, basketball stuff, and soccer stuff. We are avid shoppers at Dick's. But this one time kind of ruined for my future visits at this location. I came her to get cleats because my son is rapidly growing. I needed to get him nice cleats for cheap. When we was trying different cleats we had great service he guy was very helpful and he gave opinions as to which would best suit my kid. They are running a sale on adidas clothing for kids it's a BOGO 50% off. I decided to get him a shirt and a track jacket to match. We when got the the register it all went down hill. The guy, Amhad, said the sale was only for shorts which wasn't true. I told him call the manager he did on the Headphones they was having conversations. He said he couldn't give me the prices for the two items. He stated that I needed to get two of the same item. I went to the back to take a picture of the sign and he said I still couldn't get the discount. So I paid for the soccer stuff. I went to the back and find a manager. She said she thought it was a different item. So she said I would be able to get the discount. I walked back to the register for a third time. Amhad was the person to ring me up aging. He accused me of using a coupon I said look at my receipt there wasn't a coupon on it. Then he said I shouldn't get the sale price because I used a coupon. I said what does a coupon have to do with anything, and I told him I didn't use a coupon. He said whatever just hurry up and pay for your stuff! Nevertheless his customer service for me was horrible!!! He needs more training. Then the comment he made in the end had me furious because the store wrongly put a sign up. This DSG Store is the worst ever. My son is starting soccer practice in a week and I need help and could not get any. All the store associates are too busy to help. I had to wait 30 minutes to buy shoes. Me and 3 other customers left because nobody showed up. And when they do show up with their cell phones out with short attention spans getting all that DSG money for not doing their job, it's amazing. What is management t doing while I'm not receiving help, probably on his/her cell phone too. The ear pieces they wear are for running away from customers. I literally followed a store associate for 5 minutes just to see if he was going to help me and he sent me somewhere else where I got no help. All the store associates are running away from me as I ask them questions. And nobody cares if you are getting helped or not. I finally said I had enough and went to DSG in Rockville and to my surprise the service was 1000% better. Somebody met me at the front door and said how can I help you as I entered. I have been to the store on Friday and Saturday and spent 2 hours each day looking for the stuff I needed. Today in Rockville I was in and out in 30 minutes with everything I needed. Go to Rockville DSG don't waist your time in Dakota Crossing because they are getting paid with you or without you. read more

I am giving this place 2 stars because of the associate who actually went to look. My son needed a red under Armour practice Jersey large youth. I get to the register the jersey I had didn't have a price on it. It was on a large size hanger but had no size in the actual jersey. The cashier was contacting the floor. Please keep in my mind there was two associates over in that section when I was there. I could still see them from the register. The cashier had to contact them 3x without a response. But I could see them in that section. Finally a women with dreads went to see. There was no jerseys in that color and size. This store is very unorganized & the staff is lazy. The cashier seemed as if I was annoying her because I wanted the correct size. The associates was taking so long that I even offered to go look myself for the jersey. I only went to this location because it is close to my home. But I rather drive the extra mileage then to have to deal with this store! read more

Dick's has such a nice big store-and a huge shoe department. Yet I always forget how much shoe product they have on display and how few sizes they ever actually have, that's if you can find staff to help you. If you need shoes-bring some food and a tent-you're going to be here a looooooooong time waiting for help. That's IF anyone is working the shoe area at all. (Did I already mention that staff is in rare supply?) There must be something cool hidden behind the wall where the sizes are-because staff spend a lot of time back there looking for sizes. Maybe the shoes are hidden in a labyrnth and that's why it takes so long. Some shoe stores have staff who'll bring you 2 sizes for you to try on or a shoe similar to the one you chose in your size if they don't have your choice. That doesn't happen here. Please staff this store better. Please train your staff to help your customers find shoes that work. read more

A basic service at a sporting goods store. This store is brand new and pointless. Was hoping this would be a good option to the neighborhood but still need to leave the neighborhood for fishing equipment and friendly customer service. I stopped by to look at Redskins memorabilia as I'm attending a Redskins military appreciation event this evening with 5-7 players and wanted to bring something for autographs. I ended up getting a beautiful Redskins football for $29. I did some research online and wanted a mini helmet of sorts but the minis were too small and comparable to the football in cost. The store seemed typical of a Dick's Sporting Goods with plenty of parking out front and sporting goods. The service was great as I browsed the store it seemed like employees were everywhere who said hello and either asked or let me know they were available if I needed help. I did ask for help pricing a mini helmet as there were no prices on it or price check machines that I saw. Checkout was smooth and quick. Overall a good experience at this store. The reviews here are no joke. This is the worst Dicks I have ever been to. The merch was all over the place - on the floor, in wrong places. There were no employees to be found. They don't have price scanners in sight, which poses a huge problem given the state of merchandise organization. And the line was out the door. From what I could tell, the prices were higher than other retail joints. If you are looking for sports gear, check amazon and target first. read more

Don't try buying a bike here. Most of the bikes are on raised racks that require an employee to bring down for you. But there is hardly anybody working here. There were two people working in the entire store that shift. And the store is the huge. What a waste of time. After waiting half an hour, we finally gave up. read more

I've been here twice and it's almost like a ghost town...there is no one in the store to help you. I couldn't find a single person in the store to unlock the fitting room so I could try on clothes. I pressed the call for help button and waited over 5 mins and no one came. I walked around the whole store yelling "Hello? Hello? Is there anyone who works here?" I thought the store was closed but accidentally left open. Eventually I went back to the front and saw someone was finally at the front desk and paged someone to help me. The store is okay but there was a lady with pink nails at the cashier with a rude attitude towards me and my sister when asking about there prices at the cashier, my mother had a rude experience as well, she was paying in cash when the cashier said "oh, you're paying with cash" sighed, and took us to a different cashier.
