These people have zero clue what they are doing. I called ahead of time to see if they had a Nike 7 piece girdle in black. I wanted to check because this location is far and it said said they had two but the day before I tried to buy one online at the San Tan location and they also said they had it just to email me cancelling my order because they didn't have it. The woman I spoke to said they had it and repeated back to me that it was what I was looking for and told me they will hold it at customer service. I pack my kids up and drive all the way there for them to tell me that someone sold it. They proceed to bring me several pairs of 4 pad shorts which weren't what I was looking for. I ring up for the other stuff I got which was on a sale rack and didn't ring up as sale. I show her where they were at and it was for a different shirt that was completely misleading and the shirts that were on the sale were same priced and not marked. Confusing. Idk who runs this store but the women at the customer service area are very rude. Yeah I saw you guys whispering to each other and making faces as if your location didn't screw us out of gas and time by telling me you would put something on hold and clearly not and it gets sold in the hour and a half if took me to get there yet we are an inconvenience for you? Do better Dicks. Don't bother trying to order anything for store pickup or call for a hold because they will just waste your time and sell your item. read more

We were told by a rude guy at the San Tan mall that they had 3 medium hoodies at the Tempe store. Drove to the Tempe store to find out he lied! I thought we were getting better customer service because after waiting for some GIRL customer service who never showed this guys said he will go check to see if it's in the back. I told my son we should go. He said we can't leave because he's spending all this time looking. I told him I bet you he's not looking. Sure enough we are going down the escalator and he's helping someone in shoes!!! I waited for him to come back out so I can say thanks for nothing. Who raised that boy?? Did you know that Dicks return policy says they can refuse to return any item for any reason. I spent $40 on an under armor mask that had a ton of great reviews for my daughter for volleyball. It is awful. They didn't return it. At the same time I ordered the same mask from Amazon because I needed 2 but one right away so I went to Dicks. Amazon returned it Dicks didn't. So they can refuse to return anything for any reason. Crappy policy. Don't ever buy items from Dicks go to Amazon it's cheaper and ill return products that don't work. read more

They have a vast online selection, but their shipping takes too long. Expected delivery for a shirt is almost two weeks. This will be my first and last time purchasing anything online from Dick's. First time visiting this store was HUGE. Having a child in the basketball industry. Made my shopping experience fun and awesome. Very well organized, all sports had their own section. The employees assisted by answering my questions and pointed me to the right direction. I found everything, we searched for on the website. Dicks is terrible, their customer service is way below what is expected from one of the biggest retailers in the country. I went in to buy my son baseball pants ahead of his first game. They didn't have any in his size of the ones the team required so I was told to order online and use the expedited shipping and they would be here in time. The day they were supposed to arrive I got an email telling me that they wouldn't be there until 4 days later. I then called customer service and they offer to pay me back for the expedited shipping. They thought that not charging me for something that I didn't get was service recovery. Unreal, I won't be back. read more

I have been shopping at Dicks Sporting Goods for quite some time now. They always have some fresh Nike and Under Armor gear. The staff is always friendly and they have changing rooms with mirrors so you can try on the clothes. I've been a collector of sports gear and they also have some great suns, ASU, dbacks, cardinals gear too. Plus I grew up playing basketball so they have great basketballs. I go to the gym a lot too and they have awesome gear for the gym. (Hand wraps and gloves) Dick's have been good to me with their online program that you use your phone number with. I'm HUGE into Nike and buy my Nike gear if I can't find what I'm looking for at the Nike stores. Plus when it's the Olympics they always have really cool Olympics apparel read more

It is nice to shop in a nearly brand-new spacious store, but I can't say the prices were all that special. I found a couple of performance fabric workout shirts that were a couple bucks cheaper than what I was used to paying, so I bought them to add to the rotation. Don't want to use dirty laundry as an excuse to not go work out, so I've been stocking up recently. A note to other Dick's virgins out there: in order to get into the fitting rooms, there is a button you need to push to alert a clerk. I stood in front of the fitting rooms for a while, trying to look obvious to any nearby employees to no avail. It wasn't until I decided to hunt down a sales associate, muttering about my newfound invisibility, that another patron told me about the magic button. I pushed it and it was all good... immediate response from the nearest person with a key. The employee did mention that the button gizmo looked like a fire alarm, which explains why I never saw it in the first place. I left feeling a little bit stupid, but happy with my purchase. Dick's is HUGE! They have all the bases covered. All the major brands are represented. The staff is friendly and attentive. They let their presence known and they make sure they're available, should you need their assistance. I haven't yet encountered a staff member that was pushy. I don't play sports and I am not what you would call "outdoorsy" so I don't shop here very often. But every time I do come in this place, I am always impressed. They have a large variety of products with attractive displays. Even though it is a huge store, it is pretty well organized with lots of signs. They even have an escalator to help you get around easy! The last time I was there I was helped by an extremely nice sales associate. He was an older guy and unfortunately I can't remember his name. He kept me from buying a left handed golf putter by mistake. I know nothing about golf and was getting it as a gift for my nephew. And when they didn't have a right handed one in the height I needed, he looked up the inventory at other locations and even tried to call and have them hold it for me. That kind of service gets them the extra star. read more

Prices here are better than at REI and for my purposes, the selection is better. I've been to this Dick's a few times. Once was for soccer gear for my tot. The selection was great and the prices were the best in town. Most recently, I went to Dick's looking for a tent. Nearly all the tents were on display, which made choosing a tent a lot easier. REI had only one or two tents on display, which is understandable given their crowded store. I like the layout of Dick's, the sales they run and the quality of the merchandise they sell. Why no fifth star? Well, I was looking at tents for a considerable amount of time in the morning, with only one or two other customers in the whole store. I was not asked once whether or not I needed help. I saw someone, made eye contact and then he rushed elsewhere. I did need help because the box was more than 50 lbs and I had my daughter with me. I was upstairs and I had to get all the way to the checkout with my daughter holding my hand on the escalator. I think there is an elevator, but with my hands full, I couldn't be bothered to look for it. I will certainly be returning to Dick's. I would just appreciate a little more customer service. read more

This is based on customer service for returns. I bought a nice NF jacket here and, obviously, dropped a pretty penny on it (I'll say!).. only to be on work travel in Cali (where I really needed it) and have the zipper come out (made in China or what?). I was seriously peeved: I have bought lots of non-name-brand sweaters and jackets before and *never* have those $30 jackets had a zipper come out!!... to add to that pissed feeling, I'm thinking Dick's won't exchange it because it's been well over 30 days. ahh... sigh of relief. I called this Tempe location to inquire about the exchange (citing the date of purchase and the cause of wanting to exchange it) and the gal on the phone (I imagine the manager) was SUPER nice and understanding - she told me she hates when that happens and that, of course they'd exchange it and to come on in and she'd take care of it for me. So, I did and got a new jacket (I did check it for zipper quality, hopefully that screening was good enough)! A+ for customer service on returns with receipts over 30 days! read more

Customer service was very lacking. Needed shoes the guy in shoes asked size then walked away for less that 30 seconds did not even go to the back room and said we are out of that size. Things only got worse from there. Needed a ankle brace and also no service, When I found someone he stated that he will be right over waiting over 15 minutes zero help. Purchased a Louisville Slugger Prime 917 bat there on Saturday 05/26/17, for my 14 year old son. Bat immediately developed a rattle in barrel before first summer high school hitting practice or facing live pitching. Tried to exchange but their policy is once the plastics off, you have to file a claim with the manufacturer, which took over an hour on-line and I have to pay to ship it to Louisville. My policy is I don't waste my time or money at a business that won't stand behind a product, especially a $400 faulty new baseball bat. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Don't waste your time coming here, especially for baseball gear. Try Extra Innings in Mesa, Rawlings Outlet in Chandler, Big Five in Ahwatukee, or AZ Mound in Tempe. read more
