So, my previous review was glowing. But like it said, my interaction with the staff was very minimal. Now that I have had more involvement with them, I'm amending my review. Leann is, hands down, the worst associate I have ever come in contact with. If you want to feel belittled, frustrated, or just generally pissed off, she's your girl. The arrogance of this woman is frightening, and her lack of personality is just plain sad. I brought up my son who wanted to pay for his own stuff (you know, like a "big kid") and she basically just ignored every word we said. It totaled out to 32.40$, so he gave her 35$. She handed me back 60 cents so I told her she must have missed the other 2$ of my change. She looked at me like she had just smelled something rotten and said "what? Well how much did I give you?" I told her 60 cents to which she responded with a grunt and "give me your receipt". She then checked the receipt for approximately 5 minutes and then asked me again if I was sure she didn't give me the two dollars... I told her yes and then she made a huge stink about having to walk ALL the way to the next register to get a key to open her drawer -_- My boyfriend then proceeded to come up with whatever items he was buying and she said "is it the same scorecard phone number or what?" I told her it was. We always like to make small talk and tell the cashiers how much we love it there but she really didn't seem to give a crap. Her main concern was getting us out of there. There was no thank you, no have a nice day, no see you again. It was really just pathetic. I'm a cashier, I know not everyday is sunshine and rainbows, but suck it up. You don't have to drag down everyone else you come in contact with. This wasn't an isolated incident either. I have had several bad experiences with her. I told my boyfriend as we walked out the door that she was extremely rude, and he told me that he already knew and that she is rude to him every time he goes in there. Sad. Arrogant. Snobby. After I called in to confirm they would refund me a purchase with unopened packaging, they would only give me a partial refund once at the store. They also did not accept military ID from the US govenerment. I do not recommend them. read more

I went to the store on November 21st to check out the Bowflex Trainer M5 I saw in Bowflex website. The staff said they can match the offer from the website. The offer included a free mat. I want to see it to decide if I'll like it or not. I was informed by Bobette that they do not have one in the store however it's in the box of the unit i was purchasing but they can't open the box. Bobette informed me to call her if there's another problem after the unit was delivered (because she made a mistake ringing my 2nd purchase and the new account I just opened was declined by the bank). We waited for a tremendous amount of time until the issue was resolved by the bank. She was nice so I accepted her apology, and besides, the transaction error she made was not intentional. Today, my exercise machine was delivered by a 3rd party. Delivery and assembly were good until I started looking for the mat. The gentleman who assembled the unit informed me the unit doesn't come with a mat. I called the store but Bobette wasn't in so I was informed the manager will call me. When he called me he said the unit doesn't come with a mat but he'll give me 20% off if I purchase one. He also said he'll retrain Bobette because "she misunderstood it." I told him that Bobette didn't offer me the mat but it was advertise. It was a disappointing conversation. I never give one star reviews but Dicks Sporting Goods warrants one - even a zero rating. This is the 3rd time I have tried to locate an item at that store. This time, I checked online for availability in the store and it said it was available. Then, when I went to the store, I walked up and down the aisles of the shoe dept and couldn't find any help. The one salesperson I found was the cashier who, after checking told me the shoes weren't in stock. A wasted hour for me. Dicks say the will beat or match any lower price you find; DON'T BELIEVE IT! I wanted to purchase a rangefinder and I saw Dicks ads about getting a $20 discount by ordering online (which I never received) and the "we will beat anyone's price". So I ordered the unit online for pickup at the nearby store. In the meantime I did find a lower price online, printed it out and brought it to the store when I picked my unit up. The clerk glances at my ad and quickly says we don't honor that stores price. I asked why but never received a legitimate answer. I've never liked Dicks, and now I don't trust them either! read more

My first experience at dicks sporting goods started off like any other shopping experience. It's a big store with the most up to date shoe and clothing apparel. No problem there....I being the klutz I am stubbed my toe on a metal rack left partially sticking out in the aisle and yes I was of course of all days wearing flip flops and ripped the top of my pinky toe off and proceeded to bleed out all over the place. Luckily my boyfriend was with me and tracked down an associate who got the manager. The manager was outstanding and knows the idea of real customer service I unfortunately did not notice her name. However they comped me some sandals because my foot bled so much I couldn't wear them without spraying the sandal down with a hose. What made me completely upset enough to write a review is the little snot of a girl Alexus who had to check out the free pair of sandals. She was condescending and snickering I've never wanted to jump over a counter so fast and take her over my knee. She's rude, rude, rude and should not be working the check out customers. I've worked in customer service all of my life and if I employed her she'd be fired!! Especially for someone who was injured in their store. I can't speak for the other departments at this store, However I think the golf department here is great. The guys that regrip clubs,ect are skilled and do a good job. They also have a selection of golf grips that are not normally available at Golfsmith. Price is reasonable as well. read more

Very poor service here. I went and purchased a driver for my wife. Got home she didnt like the length of it so i was going to exchange it. The guy at the register said to the other hey show me how to do a return and in the same breath looks at me and said you know i cant return this it looks used and i cant send it back to the manufacturer. Long story short i had to call corp and then they did a store credit. mind you there is nothing in there return policy about golf clubs. however it is to the managers choice on all items. dont shop here for golf you may save a few pennies but at golfsmith you can return even the used items if you dont like them. I'll admit, after reading some of the other Yelp reviews, I was a bit apprehensive about shopping here. However, I purchased a pair of shoes from DSG online and, of course, they didn't fit. Lesson learned. I made the trip to DSG to pick out some different shoes and do an exchange. The store is clean and organized, and I found the customer service to be just fine. While I was browsing the store, a staff member approached me and asked if I needed any help. And, the cashier was happy to do the exchange, which ended up being a very smooth and easy transaction. I researched a purchase that I wanted to make online so, when I went into the store I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted. I went into the store, found the area, waited more than 10 minutes for help. Pushed the button in the area for help...my husband went to the front of the store to request help...waited...and waited. Finally a guy comes over and answers three questions. After which I stated that I'd probably like this particular item, however, I wanted to find figure out which items I wanted to purchase along with it. Instead of going to get the one item or even clarifying with me. He said 'okay' and walked away... (really). I made up my mind which things I wanted and again waited and waited and looked for an employee to try and get them to pull what I wanted from the back (large items). Not an employee could be found. (ugh) Finally a girl comes from out of a back area. She acknowledged us and asks as she is walking past, "Are you doing okay? Do you need help?" To which I reply, "YES, I'm getting rather aggravated." And she just continues to walk. (Seriously!?!) So I look at my husband and say, WTH? Let's go. I'll be damned if I give these lazy people my money. On the way out of the store, I notified the cashier of my experience. There were no less than a half a dozen employees at the registers and only 4 customers in line... Guess we know where they congregate. Apparently selling their items aren't as important as hanging out. On a good note, the store was nice, clean, and well stocked... I've never been so frustrated at trying to make a purchase at a store. Whoever runs that place needs to buck up on their training. Terrible service. read more
