Being a member comes with good deals - definitely worth signing up. The real gems here are the specialty employees though. Many of the sections have an expert wandering around ready to help answer incredibly specific questions and give recommendations. One such expert was named Clay I believe working in the boot section. He spent a long time with my husband showing him how to size boots differently than shoes, having him test it out on practice terrain, and picking the best fit for activity and price. The staff there was extremely courteous, and made my 6 year old daughter feel at home. They were so nice to here, and Oliver the dog is so sweet. They set my daughter up with a great package that's cute and cost effective. I came in a day later and love my set up. They also saved me from buying an overpriced set of goggles that fogs up! What really sticks out though, is when I came in to get my ski-boots refitted. I'm new to this all, but they took great care of me and now my boots fit like a comfortable glove. Ski Haus is awesome. I only recently really got into golf and my wife wanted to try out PXG clubs, so we booked a "swing session." My parents have always been Callaway/TaylorMade golfers, so I was a bit skeptical about this brand I have never heard of before. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted and made feel very welcome. They checked in with us while we waited (we got there a bit earlier than scheduled time) multiple times and answered any questions we had. My wife worked with Brendan, but I was put with Brian. Let me say that during the swing session, I was more satisfied with how Brian was as a fitter than how PXG clubs felt. Granted, I am rather new, so I have not swung many clubs, but PXG clubs themselves felt better than my almost 10 yr old hand me down TaylorMade RSi2s, but Brian's insights into club fitting and how to improve my swing left me feeling amazed. And there was zero pressure at all for us to purchase. So both my wife and I booked a full fitting session, with our respective fitters. And when we returned for my full bag fitting session, there was nothing that changed and that is to say it was absolutely phenomenal. Brian dialed in to what configuration would be best for me, even with my inconsistent and novice skill. And again, there was zero pressure to purchase. And he stayed quite late (I didn't know time could fly by so fast), way past the initial scheduled time to help me figure out what would work for me. did end up purchasing iron set and some woods/hybrids, and I am ecstatic to try them out. Being completely honest, as I mentioned before, I didn't feel (probably because I am not at a skill level where I am consistent enough to notice it quite yet) a HUGE difference in the PXG clubs vs the ones I was using. That is not to say that I felt zero difference. But what helped me make the decision to purchase is that Brian showed immense experience and confidence in fitting, and in turn, made me confident that knowing my skills, he has fitted me with clubs that would work for me and with me for some time while I improve my game.

We arrived and the rangers at the…read morepark (this is the Cochituate State park site) told us there were high levels of cyanobacteria in the water, and not to get wet and/or to make sure we wash off after. Oh, and there is no hose and the bathrooms had closed at 2 pm. But there is still an $8 parking fee ($30 for out of state!) and the business is renting boats like crazy, with no warnings on the web site or at the boat launch (we had paid in advance).

However, if you're looking for any other teams, or a selection of college hats, you're going to be mostly SOL unless you're trying to get a UMASS, BU, or BC hat. The staff is really friendly though and they're patient with you if you're taking forever to decide between a couple hats, but the selection is extremely limited compared to other areas of the country. But if you live in Boston, what are you doing wearing hats of any other team other than the Sox, Bruins, C's, and Pats anyways?

Four of us arrived, filled out a simple waiver, and got our life vests and paddles. After not so gracefully plopping into the kayaks, we were on our way. Once we got the hang of it, we were on our way to the closest island. We were hoping to get to Spectacle, (insert snicker here) but I think we would have passed out first, so we made it to land (I think it was Thompson, which may or may not have had No Tresspassing signs on it. Eh, We weren't exploring, just resting up with a nice picnic lunch. I can't wait to go back, after my aching arm muscles stop killing me!~ Next time I might wrapy my thumbs with tape to see if it will prevent the blisters I got....
