The man said it was easy for them to put together and I said OK I'll get the rails and footings for over $600 and that was with a 25% discount for a Labor Day sale . NO WHERE was there a cost stated for any installation, which for this would be putting the pieces together. Which they can do in their sleep.Maybe the associate Renate was intimidated by a large man complaining that the easy installation was taking two hours more than he was quoted and he didnt have the time anymore. I ordered the parts later by phone, never a mention of the installation costs, Today when he called to say the parts were in he asked if I wanted them to put it together I said Sure, he then said it would be $145 more for this. I said it is no where on the contract of anything about any install cost and that should be quoted before. He said he did I said no he didnt and maybe he was intimidated by the very angry large man pacing the showroom. Now I look at the receipt and in very small type is "owes 145" then under it is "owes 35" which mean nothing to me because I paid in full via a card,but that is their way of saying they showed me the installation fee? Now what. is the $35 for? are they going to add that on? I feel like calling my card company and cancelling the order.

As a young person of color, I will not be returning to this REI location, but will bring my business elsewhere. Really a same, I've enjoyed REI in the past but this experience has been discouraging.

They said the estimated time for this would be around 5 days. After 10 days of them not contacting me, I called them. They said the write up was ready so I went to shop only for them to tell me it is not ready and to come back in a couple days. When I went back, the person who did the write up lost the paper and we had to go back AGAIN for a new paper. A 5 day simple write up turned into a 3 week back and fourth with this shop (and 3 weeks with no bike which is my main form of transportation). Story #2: I asked for 2 tubes for my bike and they gave me 2 different sized tubes BOTH OF WHICH WERE NOT THE CORRECT TUBE. Story #3: I asked for a tube for my bike and I gave them the model (which they sold to me). The person asked me what size it is which I forgot. So he replied "well I don't know that bike go figure that out yourself" (while he was at a functioning computer in which he could have looked it up for me). Story #4: I also had a kick stand repair after it fell off (my bike has a specialize built in kickstand) and it fell off again after 2 rides.

We just happened to find ourselves in the same dive group (I am not a customer or a travel client of Mark or Mass Diving--not yet, anyway!), and yet Mark spent the week sharing his considerable knowledge base with me and with all of his fellow divers. Given how kind, fun, attentive and generous Mark was with random dive partners in his group, I can only imagine the level of service and care that his actual customers and clients would receive on one of his trips! I hope anyone considering a dive trip will take the chance to travel with Mark Potter, as I will, the very first chance I get! He is also a talented and dedicated underwater photographer to boot.

Just today I walked into the Route 9 shop with a broken/jammed BOA dial on my shoe. I was looking for a repair kit, which I wasn't really expecting them to carry but I was taking a shot in the dark because ordering one from BOA would have taken about 10 days and I wanted to use the shoe this weekend, if it was possible. Landry's didn't carry the specific repair kit that I needed, which was fine because it's pretty obscure, so I resigned myself to not being able to use my shoe for a while. But the guy I was dealing with in the shop ended up fixing my shoe right in front of me himself using the world's smallest hex wrench in about 120 seconds. I asked him what I owed him and he said, "nothing." He even gave me the wrench! I was so stoked that my dial problem was solved that I forgot the guy's name. But he was a big dude, with long hair, glasses and he was wearing flip-flops lol. ‍ Anyway, thanks to him, my weekend is looking up!
