I've had mostly dodgy experiences at various Landry's locations over the years but the Landry's on Route 9 in Natick has treated me universally well. Just today I walked into the Route 9 shop with a broken/jammed BOA dial on my shoe. I was looking for a repair kit, which I wasn't really expecting them to carry but I was taking a shot in the dark because ordering one from BOA would have taken about 10 days and I wanted to use the shoe this weekend, if it was possible. Landry's didn't carry the specific repair kit that I needed, which was fine because it's pretty obscure, so I resigned myself to not being able to use my shoe for a while. But the guy I was dealing with in the shop ended up fixing my shoe right in front of me himself using the world's smallest hex wrench in about 120 seconds. I asked him what I owed him and he said, "nothing." He even gave me the wrench! I was so stoked that my dial problem was solved that I forgot the guy's name. But he was a big dude, with long hair, glasses and he was wearing flip-flops lol. ‍ Anyway, thanks to him, my weekend is looking up! read more

Fitted perfectly to my individual situation and needs. I'm a senior in my 70s who had given up on street riding some years ago, got rid of my bike and all the accessories, and then happened to move to an apartment with a rail-trail in my backyard. So I just had to ride again. Rather than stereotyping me as needing the bike someone would assume a senior has to ride, the Landry's Natick crew had several kinds of options they could offer based on what I said about myself, and my priority -lightweight, but did not push me in any direction, just based their suggestions on tryout and my response on the bikes. Long story long, when I could not see myself riding the model I chose which was in stock only in viper red, Ana Mae searched online and arranged to purchase my model's discontinued preferred color from a completely different bike store, not a Landry's, expecting it to be delivered for set up at Landry's. Due to some glitch at the other company the bike was not delivered, and, unbelievably, Jen in Landry's office had her daughter pick up my bike and deliver it to my Landry's 20 miles away. Do I have to say wow?! Plus the bike was on sale and they arranged for me to buy it with all the accessories, on Tax Free weekend, a deal! And of course when I picked it up Mike spent ages adjusting the bike to my exact comfort level, up and down, quite a few times with different saddles, until riding it felt perfect. Totally patient and mellow team there. Plus it's an employee owned store and you could totally tell that by their commitment to service and their love of their jobs.. I've been using this Landry's for years. In my opinion its one of the best bike shops around, head and shoulders above not only other bike shops in the state but the other Landry's locations too. Its nice to walk into a bike shop that actually HAS bikes, not just one or two of each brand out on the showroom floor but dozens upon dozens of bikes for you to choose from. Mark, the manger, has gone to great lengths to ensure that his store is stocked with the latest bikes and cycling gear, is professional looking and clean and always filled with friendly and knowledgeable sales staff. They carry a wide range of bikes: kids, cyclocross, commuters, hybrids, road and tri bikes that you can see and try out. The stock there runs the gamut of bikes and prices. Given this day and age with the economy and how much it costs to keep "stock on hand" on the show room floor, you'd be hard pressed to find another store with so much variety. What do I think about the store? Well, I've bought no less than 3 bikes out of there in the past couple years and their maintenance staff are the only guys I'll let touch my bikes. I've brought 5 of my friends in there to buy bikes too and they've all been just as happy with their bike and service. We've bought a few bicycles from Landry's over the years. But I must admit that I come here for service all the time. I'd rather pay to have a flat repaired than get my hands greasy dealing with the chain or break a nail trying to get the tire off. The guys in service are fast, and they give you a realistic time estimate. Most of my repairs have been able to be done while I wait. And if not, the bike will be ready when they promise. The Westboro location hosts a bike swap every spring. Really great if you need to buy a bike for a kid who will outgrow it in a couple years. Or even for an adult who is more of a fair day cyclist as opposed to a hard core rider. $20 to have a flat repaired on a mtn bike - parts and labor. July 2017. read more

Unfortunately at the end of the day, I didn't have a good experience... The people that work there are incredibly nice but I ended up having my bike there for well over a month and they were unable to get an electric wheel on it because the frame was too weak. When I did get my bike back, it hardly had any work done and the front wheel and tire were missing... Because of my autism I had trouble speaking up about it and we had to go buy a new one just to sell the bike. I ended up having to go the whole summer without a bike... If I had known that an electric wheel would never have worked for that frame I wouldn't have waited the whole summer to get repairs... Pretty disappointed but I do think the guys that work there are nice. read more

I purchased an expensive bike which unfortunately was shipped with a manufacturer's defect. After weeks I returned the bike. I want to praise the team at Landry's in Natick. I bought my first bike at the Landry's near my college over 20 years ago and then got two more there since. There selection of bikes and accessories is good, their service is very good*, and the staff's knowledge is outstanding. The staff are always willing to share their technical expertise and personal experiences with you. I've also had my bikes serviced and maintained there, and they always do great work and have reasonable rates. *The staff really does try its best to give you the personalized attention you need and oh-so-richly deserve -- but that fact won't help you on the first weekend of nice weather in May. Todays errand, get air in my bike tires.I tried the gas station and I failed so I went to landry's. Will put air the tires for me. While there, I asked about options for a bike rack for my car. The Dealer solution for my Tiguan was almost $1000 to add hitch, the bike rack and labor. Will looked up a different alternative..bike rack that will hold 3 bikes. When it comes to bicycles, I am picky. They let me test drive one road bike after the other. When I ride a bike I am looking for feel, and the sales guy got that and guided me towards a bike that I loved (after about three or four that I didn't). We are on our third bike now from Landry's --one for me and two for my son (as he grows). I shopped around, didn't buy immediately, and verified that the price they gave me was competitive. The place just has a good energy. The only downside is that if you want to buy a bike in spring, try to go in the evenings rather than the weekend because there are just so many parents buying their kids bikes...also, my other tip to circumvent the crowds in general is to shop while a Pats game is happening or the opening Saturday of a Minions movie, soccer Saturdays, etc. The consignment program is a smart, too. I just took my Trek road bike to Landry's on a sunny Sunday afternoon, not very hopeful about getting my problem fixed right away since they're only open from 12 to 5 on Sundays and it was a perfect biking day. In fact I was seen after only a five minutes wait and the problem, a malfunctioning derailleur, was fixed right away. I was also given some good advice about how to lubricate the chain so that it doesn't attract road dirt (and consequent wear). Although I expected to pay for the tech's 15 minutes of time, and said so, there was no charge. Amazing. read more

I've been visiting Landry's for years. In some regards it is one of the very best bike shops around, but they keep stumbling in important areas that prevents me from giving then 5 stars, which I really, really want to do. First the good, and there is a lot of it. Extremely knowledgeable, attentive and friendly staff make the sales experience second to none. The store manager once gave me a ride home when he drove past me and noticed me walking my bike home (I had blown two tires). It's been years since that happened and I still think about it. The store is clean, well lit, and well laid out. And a more recent instance when my bike was not repaired after a couple of days and a few visits, noting that I was upset, they gave me a loaner bike (a lightweight all-fiber beauty too) to use until my repair was completed. Now for the not-so-good. The recent service instance I mentioned ... I brought my bike to get some work done and the service tech told me to come back later that afternoon. I returned a few hours later and half way through getting new shoe clips fitted they realized they had not completed the bike repair, which was needed to complete the fitting. I was frustrated they had not called me to let me know, but shrugged it off. A few days later, having learned my lesson, I phoned to see if the repairs were completed. The guy on the phone checked and told me the bike was ready and to come on down. When I arrived, again, no bike - the work had not been done (through no fault of theirs). I was really peeved at point which is why they offered me the loaner bike. On top of this were several sloppy hand offs. Multiple departments were involved in each visit (sales, service, fitting) and rather than take me to the person in the next department, each person told where to go where I invariably had to wait in line again and explain why I was there. Argh! Oh yeah, and a bike part that was to have been ordered on my first visit hadn't been ordered. Glad I asked. I don't think it's the staff's fault. They certainly want to do well. I think some additional training and process to deal with thee situations are in order and will improve the customer experience. I will keep coming back though. They are not the cheapest place around, but they really know their stuff and they have a great attitude. Plus, the manager gave me a ride when I was schlepping my bike facing another five miles. That bought a helluva lot of good will. read more

I came to Landry's after working only with Belmont Wheelworks for the last several years, and the difference was night and day. I've dumped thousands into Belmont, and the clowns in their service department ended up replacing my chain and rear cassette on my Trek Fuel without ever commenting on the bent deraileur. Clown shoes. I called Landry's and spoke to Andy, who listened to what I was saying and wanted to understand what was up with my bike. I dropped it off the next day with Doug in the service department who quoted me up a price and also listened to all aspects of the performance. 24 hours later, I was running a SRAM X-7 and checked out with Jeremy, who talked shop with me for probably 20 minutes and let me spin around the lot a few times, shifting as need be to make sure I was happy. After I paid, he added that if after a real ride or 2 I still had an issue, bring it back in and they'd keep working. Service doesn't get any better than this. This is my new LBS, period. The only reason I gave 4 out of 5 is that the stock of the store for actual MTB gear could use a few things, but having an inventory like JRA or Belmont is a different business model. After the horrible experience of trying to buy a bike at International BIke who have the most arrogant salespeople in the industry, I decided to stay local and try Landry's in Natick. Not only did Andy, the mgr (i think) help me decide on a Specialized Roubaix for me and a Trek Carbon for my wife, but Jeff, in the Service dept has kept me on the road since we bought the bikes 4 years ago. Unfortunately I broke a spoke the week before the PMC and well we all know it is a brutal week to get anything done unless planned ahead. While i live near International, i work nowhere close, so when i need random bike junk like tubes and things on the way home, Landry's is my first choice, since they're open later. That said, i've also purchased a helmet and shoes from them, and been really pleased with their help. They're the type of place that tends to want to make sure that you're buying the right thing (and on the shoes, i probably should have listened to them a little better instead of going with my own preconceived notions). This is great when you're buying something expensive, but the flip side is that sometimes you do have to wait for someone to get free if you're just picking up something little. To their immense credit, though, they didn't think i was too weird for buying twenty CO2 cartridges at once. Yes, i have bad luck with tires, but it's not that bad. My wife and I had a great experience at Landry's. We were looking for a nice comfort bike and really hadn't done much research before heading in. The staff showed K. at least 6 different bikes and let her test each one. After about two hours, we went home, did a little research into pricing and color choices and came back two days later to have them transfer a pink Electra from another one of their stores. At no time in the process did they try to hard sell a bike that she didn't want. When we went to pay for our purchase there was no up-sell to products we couldn't use or didn't need. Not very impressed with this place. Someone did approach me right away, which was great. Despite having seen some bikes for sale on the site I was told only one $400 bike was my option. Nothing else in my price range and it was really heavy (also an issue with lower priced bikes) I was told. Had already been to another shop with about 10 bikes for that same price. We've bought all our bicycles at Landry's and have been pleased with their products, prices and service (tune-ups). Our trip today had a very different focus - i.e., removing our Thule bike rack from the trailer hitch on our van. We'd tried everything to remove it ourselves. Finally, we brought it to Landry's Natick store. We had the attention of three young employees - one who pulled and pulled, another who got down on the ground to survey the problem and the retail employee who suggested a rust remover. This worked and within 15 minutes we were on our way with the bike rack tucked into the rear of the van. I went into Landry's today for tubes for an older road bike. They didnt have the exact tubes I needed (neither did REI) but they set me up (and educated me) about ones that would work and would be easier to find in the future and how to use them. They also came out to my car and took a look at my thule roof mounted bike rack and I didnt even buy it there! They were super friendly and very helpful. Went in to Landry's bike shop tonight to check out some fitness hybrid bikes. Mark (the manager ?) helped my girlfriend and I look around. The Trek fx bikes had caught our eye online and we were prepared to purchase. First thing he had us do was to take the bikes for some laps in the store. (It was dark and raining outside) He was very knowledgeable and patient with us. He ended up scoring us a sweet deal on 2 x Trek 7.3 fx bikes! Very very satisfied. This Landry's is a great bike shop for newbies and for over-the-top gear heads. They sell their bikes and accessories at MSRP which is typical for a local bike shop (LBS). You can do way better on-line but you don't get their super knowledge. They are very patient if you are buying a bike. They carry most of the best brands. With out a doubt, get fitted by Andy. Your riding will improve substantially and nothing will hurt. The one-year free tune-ups with purchase is a great deal. The shop is excellent and they make sure it is fixed right or keep trying until it is. Lastly, their Wednesday night rides are a lot of fun whether you are just starting out in group riding and want to learn pace line, or your want to hammer yourself silly for 23 miles. read more

I wanted to buy my boyfriend a bike as a surprise and wound up buying one for myself as well. I went in twice - the first time to look and the second time to buy. I dealt with two employees and both were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Not only did they take their time to answer all of my questions, they were really thorough in asking ME the right questions. They didn't try to push expensive products on me; in fact, they often convinced me that the cheaper option was better or explained to me when I didn't need something that I wondered about. I felt no sales pressure and totally trusted both employees. They were so sweet and I was 100% comfortable. I recommend this place to anyone from novices to biking enthusiasts. I think Landry's is just OK. I've been riding for 30 years. I've been to a lot of local shops. We bought a bike for my stepson there a few months ago and the salesman was good. Didn't try to sell us more than what we needed, or hurry us or be condecending like other shops I've been to. But I had one bad experience there that soured me on the place. I was looking for a bike in the winter of 2014. I had been to a few shops, looked online at sales bikes. Went to Landry's to check on a bike that was on clearance to find it was sold (salesmen admitted they weren't good about keeping the online clearance list up to date). But what really irritated me was when I found another bike they offered and went to test ride it. It was a Venge which they had in stock. I spoke with a woman who said I could ride it (It was February but the roads were clear). Other shops let me test ride bikes then. The woman said she wouldn't be in when I said I was coming but another salesperson would help me. I get there (Saturday morning) could only find one salesperson who was helping someone with shoes. I waited 'til there was an opening and asked if I could try the Venge which they had on the floor. I told him I was told I could try the bike. He said no. He was clearly more focused on helping the person with shoes. He didn't ask me to wait and he would work with me, just said I couldn't try it. It was a $3500 bike that I was interested in but I certainly wouldn't buy it without test riding it. I guess he was more interested in selling shoes. I went to another shop which let me test ride and bought from them instead. read more

Landry's is my new favorite bike shop. I had been a Wheelwork$ devotee for a while. I knew what I wanted - two Electra cruisers. I went to WW and they had nothing, so I figured I would to go Landrys on a whim. After looking around for a while and not seeing what I wanted I decided to ask a salesperson. They took us back to a newly renovated room and flipped the lights. To my astonishment there was a room full of Electras in every color and model. The salesperson let us take all of them for a ride. We finally chose to and they prepped them within 15 minutes and were out the door. No waiting, no high pressure sales and best of all no settling on something because they didnt have the color or model. Also you get a free 30 day tune up, but I think that is standard. Given my recent Landry's experience I would strongly urge you to give Landry's a try before going to WW or International Bike. read more

They're friendly, and even if your a total noob they're not going to treat you like your a total idiot like other bike shops I've been too which basically put a big L on my forehead and just called me a noob for not spending thousands of dollars for the benefit of their time to ask bike questions.
